She is very gobby but the Police were very unprofessional. The common sense method is to carry out a thorough examination of the vehicle before you interview anyone formally.

I think the police would want to do an initial interview, as soon after the incident as possible, while it is fresh in the mind.
Think the police might be a bit premature to take Kevin and Abi down the station, maybe ask them a few questions at the house, but surely they would need to examine the car before any serious interviewing.
That officer interviewing Kevin was very aggressive. As far as we saw Kevin was not under caution, so any admission could not have been used in court. It must have been obvious that just because there was no skid marks it did not mean the brakes were faulty, surely he should have realised it was possible they were not applied. Toyah might simply have taken her eyes of the road. Of course as we know now, Imran had probably told her the truth and they were arguing. Soaps need drama, but I wish they would make more effort to "make it real".
