Sarah Phelps is writing the rest of the weeks episodes so it should be good. :)
In my opinion, Lacey was totally robbed of the Best Newcomer award a couple of months ago. For a young actress and in her first television role as well, she has shown real range in her acting - from her funny one-liners (Alfie: "Stacey, what you doing tonight?", Stacey: "You dirty git! What do you wanna do? Complete the set"), to her bitchiness and her sensitive and troubled side that she showed last night. Stacey has changed as a person since she first arrived but it does not seem as forced or as contrived as the changes in the likes of Johnny. It seems more real to me as it reflects what her life has been like and Lacey plays her so well. Stacey reminded me of Janine when she first arrived but now she is like the anti-Janine as whilst both of them have had difficult childhoods, Stacey has shown her sensitive and kind nature, something that Janine never really did. She has chosen a different way than Janine, she does not blame everything on her childhood and she just gets on with life and deals with it without turning to drugs etc.
Really looking forward to the rest of the week now, not really for the Pat/Frank or Chrissie/Jake stuff but for Stacey's story.
I thought itwas pretty good, and I agree Florijo Lacey was robed of best newcomer, yet again she was excellent, and continues to improve in her acting. I thought it was good how it was happening in all different locations as well.
Yes I agree mostly with what's been said above. The Stacey and mother storyline was very good.
The Chrissie and Jake storyline is so unrealistic I find it very irritating and cannot get interested at all for all the reasons given above - 1. Where did 25k come from? 2. How come Jake just left it in a bag in a cupboard at Alfie's? 3. How is 25k (assuming it is 25k) going to be anywhere near enough to get a murderer, who has already tried to leave the country once, out?
The Pat and Mo bit was reasonable but it was one of those strange Eastenders coincidences that Mo just happened to be going to Court to support her friend on the same day that Pat had to go. Hmmmm.....
