INT. INDIAN HOTEL – NIGHT
Marcus and Iqbal are sitting outside on chairs on the balcony of their room. In the distant is a view of the Tajh Mahal. A few minutes have passed…
Marcus: I’ve always felt that connection between us…even since we were kids… I was so close to her… but I never for one moment thought she’d feel the same way… but I found out recently that she does…
Iqbal: Look son, Im not like Kash…. Im not going to tell you how to live your life…but you understand, this cant happen don’t you?
Marcus: Why though?
Iqbal: Well other than the obvious...?
Marcus: It’s as simple as two people loving each other… whats wrong with that?
Iqbal: It’s just…not… the done thing…
Marcus: Cousin’s can get married dad… the Queen married her cousin!
Iqbal: I could grow to the idea… I could accept it… but it just wouldn’t work out… the family wouldn’t allow it… the whole of Baymoore wouldn’t accept it… is it worth loosing all your friends and family over?
Marcus: If we were together…yes…
Iqbal: She’s not the only woman in the world Marc… you could find yourself another girl… be happy with her… have a non complicated relationship…
Marcus: I don’t want another girl tough… I want Ruby… I Love Ruby
Iqbal: Im not doubting that… im just saying… in the long run it would be better to forget about it… move on… avoid all the troubles….
Marcus: So what do you expect me to do? Just let Kash bully her into this marriage…
Iqbal: If you think it will deter you from staying with her… then I’d advise it Marcus…
Iqbal gets up.
Iqbal: The decision is yours Marc… you make your own choices… just be aware of the consequences…
Iqbal leaves. Marcus is left alone to dwell on what his father has said.
Will Marcus follow his heart or his father’s advice?
