I think she's self harming as she can't live with the guilt..no matter what she's blaming herself for what happened. She's such a good young actress, one of my few favorites in Emmerdale.
The scratches on Belle's face look as they were caused by finger nails . When Belle was released from prison and Chas first saw her , I think Chas commented that she looked well and how nice Belle's finger nails looked now she was growing them . So whether that was leading to the self harm storyline ? I still wonder about the graffiti and whether Belle wrote it? Agree about your reasons mariba and the quality of her acting ,very convincing.
Lachlan has obviously done something bad before he came ot the village. I wonder what it is.
