Ant & Dec 'staying very English' in US
Ant and Dec have been sticking with their British friends as they attempt to crack America.
The TV hosts have jetted off to Los Angeles to present their new US TV show Wanna Bet?, but they have yet to make friends with any Hollywood superstars.
"We've kind of stayed very English," Ant told the Sunday Mirror. "We've been out with Ricky Gervais, Coldplay and Matt and David from Little Britain. And we're going to meet up with Cat Deeley later.
"You kind of end up staying at the same places or going out and eating at the same places, or you just text people saying, 'You're in LA? Well I'm in LA. Let's get drunk'." :rotfl:
Dec also revealed that he has been shocked by some of the stunts he has witnessed during filming for the new show.
He said: "The tagline is 'The show where ordinary people come to claim they can do extraordinary things'. We've had a guy who can kick himself in the head 45 times in a minute and a 12-year-old boy who can identify vacuum cleaners by the sound alone.
"One guy said he could identify the band and the album title simply by licking a CD… and he got it right!"
This show sounds good, I hope it is shown over here.
The Jam rejected by 'Opportunity Knocks'
Paul Weller has revealed that The Jam were turned down for a spot on ITV talent show Opportunity Knocks.
Before the mod group had their first top 40 hit with 'In The City', they unsuccessfully auditioned for the Hughie Green-fronted show in the '70s.
Weller explained to Q: "Our guitarist's girlfriend at the time, she wrote off to get us an audition for Opportunity Knocks. She was going 'Oh, it'll be great, you can go and audition and get on telly.' So she wrote off and they asked us to audition. I thought, '******* off'. But luckily they turned us down.
"We played them a few of our own tunes. I can barely remember doing it, but we were so *******. And thank God. I don't want to think what would have happened if we'd ended up getting on."

Jennifer Garner Pregnant With Second Child
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are expecting their second child, it has been claimed.

Jennifer Garner and husband Ben Affleck are waiting in anticipation the arrival of their second child together. The actress and mother of one is reported pregnant again.
The reports are in all probabilities inspired by the fact that Garner was seen leaving a doctor's office sporting a clearly visible baby bump. "She was very happy and glowing. She touched her stomach for a moment. She looked pregnant," New Weekly magazine quoted a source as saying.
Garner and Affleck are said to be "thrilled" with the news while "were hoping to have another baby fairly soon so that Violet would have a sibling to grow up with. She's an affectionate, happy child. Jen thinks she'll love being a big sister."
Affleck proposed to Garner on her 33rd birthday and the couple married on June 29, 2005 in a surprise ceremony at the Parrot Cay resort on the Turks and Caicos Islands. She gave birth to their daughter, Violet Anne Affleck, on December 1 the same year.
I love Jen & Ben for the fact that they are seen everywhere with little Violet just doing normal stuff. They're never in the mags/papers for anything bad and when they are, they just look like a normal family if you get what I mean.
McLean quits GMTV for 'Loose Women'
Weather presenter Andrea McLean is quitting breakfast TV broadcaster GMTV after 11 years.
McLean has signed a contract to present ITV1 lunchtime show Loose Women and said she plans to pursue other broadcasting and writing opportunities.
"I’ve been thinking about it for a while," she said in a statement. "The time is right for me to move on. After 11 years of getting up at 3.30 in the morning, I think I deserve a lie in.
"I’ve really enjoyed my time at GMTV. I’ve made some truly wonderful friends and know it’s going to be a huge wrench leaving, but I’m really excited at being able to concentrate on new projects."
GMTV director of programmes Peter McHugh said: "Andrea’s been brilliant and will be hugely missed by us and the viewers."
Winehouse's husband jailed for 27 months
Blake Fielder-Civil has been sentenced to 27 months in jail for attacking a pub landlord and attempting to bribe him not to testify.
The 26-year-old, husband of singer Amy Winehouse, pleaded guilty to charges of GBH and perverting the course of justice. He has already spent nine months in London's Pentonville Prison awaiting trial.
Landlord James King suffered a broken cheekbone after being attacked by Fielder-Civil and friend Michael Brown at the Macbeths pub in Hoxton, East London in June 2006.
Fielder-Civil, of Camden, North London, also admitted trying to persuade King to withdraw his complaint using a £200,000 bribe.
Handing down the sentence at Snaresbrook Crown Court, judge David Radford told him that he had behaved in a "gratuitous, cowardly and disgraceful" way.
Three other men were also jailed for perverting the course of justice, one of whom admitted assault.
Winehouse did not attend the hearing.
