Episode 8
SCENE ONE
INT. POLICE STATION - NIGHT
Micheal is sat in the police interview room, his sleeves rolled up, sweating with nerves. The police are pacing the room, questioning him.
Detective: For the last time did you push him!?
Micheal: No!
Detective: So he jumped out of the window then!?
Micheal: That's what I said!
Detective: I know it's what you said, but is it the truth!? Why would he throw himself out of a glass window!?
Micheal: I don't know, why don't you ask him?
Detective: We would, but he's in a coma, and everything we have leads us to believe that you put him in that condition!
Micheal: Oh I've had enough of us, you can't prove jack ****, so just let me go, yeah!?
Detective: You're so full of yourself aren't you?
Micheal: Give me my phone call...
Detective: No...
Micheal: I'm entitled to a phone call, now give it me before I scream blue murder...
The detective puts his finger on the tape recorder, and speaks to Micheal through gritted teeth.
Detective: Go on then...
Micheal is lead out of the interview room and towards the phone, Micheal dials a number and waits for Jenny to answer.
Micheal: Yeah babe it's me...they've arrested me for what happened..you need to get on the phone to my lawyer...and for christ's sake try and make Jess see sense...

SCENE TWO
INT. SEAN'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sean begins French kissing her, she turns around a smile on her face, he begins to untie her bakini, when the bathroom door is swung open.
The pair jump out of their skins, as Colin enters the room, a look of rage on his face...
Colin: You ****ing *******!
Faith: Colin, no!
Colin rushes towards the jacquizzie and jumps in, he begins smacking Sean in the face and starts to throttle him.
Colin: You ****ing dirty scumbag! Shagging my wife!? You *******!
Faith: Colin! Stop it for Christ's sake!
Colin: Take my job! Take my wife! You ****ing *******!
Sean: What can I say? The better man get's it all!
Colin sees red and tries to drown Sean.
Faith: Colin! Stop it! For god's sake stop it!
Faith pulls Colin back from Sean, Sean gets up and tries to catch his breath.
Sean: You ****ing pyscho! You almost killed me!
Colin: It's no-more than you deserve you ****ing prick!
Faith puts her hands around Colin, to try and calm him down.
Faith: Look babe, calm down, this aint gonna help anyone...
Colin: Get your hands off me you dirty little whore...
Sean: Oi! You watch what you're saying to her okay!?
Faith: Sean can you leave us be, me and Colin need to talk...
Sean gets out of the jacquizzi and wraps a towel around his wasit. Colin gives him daggered looks.
Sean: You know where I am if you need me...
Faith: Just go...
Sean leaves the room, Faith turns towards Colin, unable to look at him with the shame. What will happen next for the troubled couple..?

SCENE THREE
INT. LOCAL HOSPITAL - NIGHT
Jess and Diane are by Noel's bedside, looking tired. Jenny walks into the room, feeling slightly uneasy about disturbing them.
Jenny: Jess...
Diane: Look, I don't think it's such a good idea that you stay here...
Jess: No, let her say her peice...
Jenny: You've got to let your dad go, tell the police he didn't do it...
Jess: I know what I saw Jenny, he pushed Noel out of the window, and he deserves to pay the price for it...
Jenny: You don't want anything to do with him, fair enough - disown him, do what you want, but don't see him get sent down for this, he wouldn't survive in jail...
Diane: He should have thought of that before he played the macho man, flinging his daughter's fiance through the window!
Jenny: He did this becuase he loves you Jess! This scumbag had cheated on you, played you for a fool...your dad did this becuase he loves you, just you remember that, and please...I'm begging you...take back what you said...
Jenny leaves the room, Jess is left to contemplate what Jenny has said.

SCENE FOUR
INT. SEAN'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Faith gets out of the bed, and puts on a dressing gown, Colin paces the room trying to get over what he has seen.
Colin: Come on then, start talking, tell me "it's not what it looks like"...
Faith: What'd be the point in that? It's obvious what we were doing...
Colin: How could you do this to me Faith!?
Faith: Col...
Colin: With him aswell, you've made it ten times worse then it would have been! Why ruin our marriage Faith!?
Faith: It's been ruined for a long time Col', before Sean even showed up...
Colin: What d'ya mean?
Faith: You're not the man I fell in love with, you care more about football and you're bloody pride then you do me, it's just taken me all this time to realise it...
Colin: That's not true! I love you babe!
Faith: No, I'm just a trophy wife...
There is an awkard silence.
Colin: So where does this leave us then?
Faith: There's no "us" Colin, there hasn't been for a long time...
Colin: What are you saying Faith?
Faith tries to hold back the tears, she strokes his face, clearly emotional.
Faith: I'm saying that it's cover Colin...I'm leaving you...
Colin is devastated at this shock anouncement of Faiths.

SCENE FIVE
INT. LUKE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Luke is sitting down, a bottle of scotch on the coffee table, still nervous from the break and the polaroid, the doorbell rings, he rushes to answer it, Jenny walks in.
Luke: Thank god! I was starting to worry...
Jenny walks into the living room, looking flustered.
Jenny: She knows...
Luke: You what!? Are you sure!?
Jenny: I went around there and she admitted it...
Luke: No, why would she admit it?
Jenny: Becuase she can, she has one over us and she wants us to know that...god the bitch!
Luke: This is a nightmare! What if she tells Micheal!?
Jenny: Then I'd be out of marraige and you'd be out of a job!
Luke: We need to keep her quiet...
Jenny: No, she seemed deadly serious yesterday, she was going to tell Micheal, no exceptions...
Luke: Jesus! What are we gonna do!?
Jenny: We just have to hope she get's sent down tomorrow, if not we're done for...

SCENE SIX
INT. JAMIE'S FLAT - MORNING
Jamie and Danielle are in the bedroom, getting dressed. Danielle looks at herself in the mirror, breathing in.
Danielle: Do you think I need to loose some weight?
Jamie: Of course not babe, you're perfect as you are...
Danielle: Are you sure?
Jamie: You'd be stupid to go any thinner...
Danielle: But one of the models was saying that I need to...
Jamie: Forget what they say. Do you want to be a stick insect?
Danielle: Not really, but if it get's me where I want...
Jamie: If they don't want you the way you are, then it's their loss, not yours...
Jamie kisses her on the neck before leaving the room. Danielle looks at herself in the mirror again, a look of uncertainty on her face.

SCENE SEVEN
INT. LAW COURTS - DAY
The morning of Rachel's trial. Luke and Jenny are hanging around nervously, as soon as they see Rachel walk into the courts, they hurry towards her.
Luke: Rachel!
Rachel: Look who it isn't...
Jenny: Please Rachel, keep quiet about me and Luke, I'm begging you...
Rachel: Why should I?
Luke: Rachel, for god's sake!
Rachel: Look at the pair of you, bold as brass, holding hands, you aren't even trying to be discreet! Talk about rubbing this in my face!
Luke: We didn't start this until we split!
Rachel: Oh how noble of you! That doesn't excuse you having an affair with a married woman!
Luke: Please Rachel, for me, for what we had...
Rachel: D'ya know what? The pair of you can piss right off!
Rachel walks past them confidently towards her lawyer. Luke and Jenny look at one another, scared.
Luke: God, there's no stopping her!
Jenny: Oh I wouldn't say that, the fight isn't over yet...
Jenny has a devious look on her face, well aware of what she has planned for Rachel.

SCENE EIGHT
INT. JAMIE'S FLAT - DAY
Danielle sits down at the dining table, a sandwhich beside her, she takes a bite of it, whilst reading through the celebrity pages.
She continues eating, whilst reading about Jess and Noel. She turns the page to "whos hot and whos not".
Danielle looks over the pictures of all the skinny size 0 celebs, then looks down at her stomach. Feeling repulsed she nervous sticks her fingers down her throat, until she gags, she rushes to the kitchen sink and throws up her sandwhich...

Danielle is going to end up in hospital for her career.. stupid girl

SCENE NINE
INT. LAW COURTS - DAY
Rachel and her lawyers are sat in one of the chambers, discussing the case.
Lawyer: So you all sure what you're going to say in the dock?
Rachel: I've rehearsed it enought times :rolleyes: look shouldn't I be denying it rather than playing the "I did it but I'm so sorry" act?
Lawyer: You're asking for my professional advice and I'm giving it you, the evidence isn't in your favour, deny it and you'll be branded a liar and the judge wont appreciate it...
Rachel: I can't go down for this for Christ's sake! My agency would drop me!
Lawyer: Unfortunatley the legal system means you're the same as any average Joe, like another other case it'll be for the jury to decide...
Rachel runs her hands through her hair in stress, unable to come to terms with the reality of her punishment and the trial.
Rachel: Jesus...I never thought I'd be sewing mail bags...
Lawyer: If you can't do the time...
Rachel: Yes, ok I get the picture...look do me a favour, give this to Micheal Aston...
Rachel hands a sealed enevlope to her lawyer.
Lawyer: Sure thing...and remember act like you regret it...good luck...
Rachel straightens her suit in the mirror before heading out of the chamber to face the music...

SCENE TEN
EXT. HALESOWEN TRAINING GROUND - DAY
Sean walks out of the training ground and towards his car, Charley rushes over to him, despite his attempts to ignore.
Charley: Why haven't you been answeing my calls babe?
Sean: It's over...
Charley: You what!?
Sean: I know your a moron but i'm not speaking in riddle...it's over, you're dumped...
Charley: But you can't do that to me!
Sean: Yeah I can...
Charley: But why!? I was so good for you!
Sean: No you weren't, you were just iritating...besides I'm found someone else...
Charley: Who!? :angry:
Sean looks down at the floor, Charley turns around and sees Faith walking towards them.
Charley: Her!? That tart!?
Sean: She's more of a woman that you could ever be!
Charley: Is this true what he's telling you!?
Faith: Oh go away you stupid girl...
Charley: Yo wanna shut your mouth girl! You stole my man!
Charley initates a bitch fight, screaming, hair pulling and everything, to the amusement of the other players. Sean breaks it up and flings Charley to the other side of the car park.
Sean: Just go away will you!? Piss off!
Charley: Your gonna regret this, I'm gonna sell my story to the papers and the gloss mags...
Sean: Do what you like! See if I care!?
Humiliated, Charley walks off. Faith looks uneasy.
Sean: How did he take it?
Faith: How d'ya think?
Sean: Where does that leave us now?
Faith: I dont know, we need to talk...

SCENE ELEVEN
INT. LOCAL POLICE STATION - DAY
Micheal is sat in a holding cell, increasingly anxious, looking worse for wear with the stress, the door opens and in walk the detective.
Micheal: What you got to launch at me now, becuase I dont think I can take much more of your crap...
Detective: Forever the eternal optimist I see...
Micheal: Enough of the jokes, what is it now?
Detective: It appears we were mistaken, you're free to go...
Micheal: What...I dont understand...
Detective: I'll leave it for her to tell you...
Micheal gets up and leaves the cell, Jess is standing there, he hurries over to her and tries to hug her but she keeps her distance.
Micheal: Oh thank god Jess! I thought I was done for..
Jess: No more than you'd deserve...
Micheal hurries Jess out of the station and out of earshot of the police.
Micheal: You don't know how grateful I am darling, I knew you'd see sense eventually...
Jess: Believe me I haven't done this for you...
Micheal: I dont understand?
Jess: Jenny's right, you wouldn't last five seconds in jail, and I don't want that on my conscience...
Micheal: Don't worry, I'm here for you now, I wont let that scumbag hurt you anymore...
Jess: I don't want you anywhere near him...or me...
Micheal: I don't understand?
Jess: What you did to Noel is unforgivable, I don't want anything more to do with you...
Micheal: Jess...
Jess: I let you free, out of respect for brining me up, but that's all...as far as I'm concerned, from now on I don't have a father...Bye Micheal, I hope it was worth it...
Jess walks off, leaving Micheal hurt at his child disowning him.

SCENE TWELVE
EXT. HALESOWEN TRAINING GROUND - DAY
Faith: I dont know, we need to talk...
Sean: Well what happened!? What did he say!?
Faith: All that you'd expect, refused to accept he had any part in us splitting...
Sean: Well how did you leave it, has he thrown you out?
Faith: No I've left him, it was the right thing to do...
Sean: Then there's nothing stopping you and me...
Faith: I don't know Sean...I need some time to think...
Sean: What's their to think about? We're well suited...
Faith: Too much has happened to soon, I need to get my head around things, decide what to do next...
Sean: I wont wait forever Faith...
Faith: And I'm not expecting you to, maybe we should just call it a day, it woulnd't be fair on Colin, to have it splashed over the papers, for him to see you and me together every day, it would ruin him...
Sean: He's been on the road to ruin for a long time already, you can't deprive yourself of hapiness becuase of him Faith...
Faith: Look I'm going to Flordia for a weeks, I'm going to stay with a friend and make my mind up what I want, just leave me be until I come back?
Sean gives her a supportive hug, before she heads off, uncertain of what the future holds.

SCENE THIRTEEN
INT. LOCAL HOPSITAL - DAY
Jess is sat alone by Noel's bedside: Diane having gone to get cups of tea, emotional she holds his hand and looks longingly into his eyes.
Jess: I'm so sorry, I never meant for this to happen babe, I know I said things...but I didn't mean them...seeing you here, it just makes me realise how much I love you...
Close up of Noel's emotionless face, deep in his coma.
Jess: When you get better, we'll move away from here, away from him...forget what he says, you're a great footballer, anyone can have...maybe even Spain, then we can see about getting married like you wanted to...
Suddenly the machine that Noel is connected to starts to make funny noises, Jess looks around in distress as some nurses rush into the room.
Jess: Wha...what's going on!?
Nurse: Can you stay back please...
The nurse gets out the defibrilator and starts charging it up, shaking Noel on the bed, but to no avail, the machine starts beeping, and everyone looks at one another, deflated.
Doctor: Time of death...
Jess: No! Nooooo!
Diane rushes into the room and comforts a distraught Jess, as she breaks down at the news of Noel's death.

SCENE FORTEEN
INT. LAW COURTS - DAY
The court case is almost over, Rachel looks extremely nervous standing in the dock, Jenny and Luke look over at her, equally as nervous.
Court Clerk: Foreman of the jury, have you reached a decision of which you are all agreed?
Foreman: Yes...
Court Clerk: On the count of death by dangerous driving do you find the defendant Rachel Walker guilty or not guilty?
Foreman: Guilty!
Rachel is absolutley devastated at this verdict, she begins to burst into tears.
Rachel: No! You've got it wrong! I didn't do it!
Judge: Silence in court!
Jenny holds Luke's hand, a confident smile on her face.
Judge: Having considered all the evdience, and the fact that you have shown no remorse for your crime, nor aknwowledged it, I feel a lengthy sentance is fitting for you. I sentance you to 8 years in prison...send her down...
The guards begin to drag Rachel down from the docks, despite her protests.
Rachel: This is a miscarraige of justice! I didn't do it! It's not me! I swear!
Jenny catches Rachel's eye, a smug smile on her face, Rachel looks back at her silently mouthing the words "I've got you", before being dragged away. Jenny begins to worry...

Ooohh it's going to get messy when Michael finds out about Jenny and Luke and now facing the prospect of a murder charge.

SCENE FIFTEEN
INT. LOCAL HOSPITAL - NIGHT
Diane cradles a distraught Jess, as the nurse puts a sheet over Noel's dead body.
Jess: He's gone mom...he's gone...
Diane: I'm so sorry darling, so sorry...
Jess: He didn't deserve this! It's not fair!
Diane: No he didn't, but you can't change what's happened...
Jess: It's all dad's fault...
Diane: Sush now, calm down dear...
Jess: I hate him mom! I hate him for what he's done! I can never forgive him...
Diane: It's just the emotions talking darling, you don't mean in...
Jess: I do! I hate him! I swear to god I'm gonna kill him!
Diane keeps hold of Jess, a smile of joy on her face at the breakdown of Micheal and Jess' relationship.

SCENE SIXTEEN
INT. ASTONS' HOUSE - NIGHT
Micheal walks into the house, holding the day's post. He switches on the TV to show coverage of Rachel's guilty sentance.
Newsreader: ...The court found her guilty on the charge of death by dangerous driving, and the judge gave her a lengthy sentance of 8 years imprisonment...
Micheal swithces off the TV, unable to cope with another scandal for the club. Micheal opens Rachel's envelope and takes out the polariods of Jenny and Luke.
Micheal takes a nervous gulp, and looks through the pictures clealry distressed. He takes a deep breath, as a tear rolls down his face...

SCENE SEVENTEEN
INT. MCCAN'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Colin is sat in darkness, a bottle of skotch in his hands. [ame="http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=i-g0aBYVCgE"]Suicide Is Painless [/ame]by The Manic Street Preachers is playing on the stereo.
The game of life is hard to play
I'm gonna lose it anyway
The losing card I'll someday lay
so this is all I have to say.
On the table are pictures of him and Faith from happier times, holiday snaps and pictures of their wedding, a tear rolls down his face as he affectionatley rubs his thumb over her face.
The only way to win is cheat
And lay it down before I'm beat
and to another give my seat
for that's the only painless feat.
Colin then looks at newspaper cuttings about his injury and speculation that it is the end of this career. He holds his head up high trying to hold back the tears.
The sword of time will pierce our skins
It doesn't hurt when it begins
But as it works its way on in
The pain grows stronger...watch it grin, but...
In a rage Colin brushes the photos and clippings off the table, as his eyes pan over to an empty glass, and a bottle of pills.
A brave man once requested me
to answer questions that are key
is it to be or not to be
and I replied 'oh why ask me?'
Colin picks up the bottle of pills and starts taking them one by one as the scene fades to black...
'Cause suicide is painless
it brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.
...and you can do the same thing if you please.

The Football drama, based closley on shows such as Dream Team and Footballers Wives began earlier this year, and recived a luke warm reception.
"The idea turned out to be better than the finished product" admits the creator Bryan Turner. "Fact of the matter was not enough people were reading it, so I feel there's no point in continuing the drama".
Bryan, who also writes popular Soapboards soap opera Devon Seas, has decided to try other projects next summer in place of the Beautiful Game.
But what about all the unaswered questions: What will Micheal do now he knows about the affair? Will Danielle save herself from anorexia? Will Colin end up commiting suicide".
"The few fans of the Beautiful Game will be pleased to hear that I'm writing a one off special later this year to tie up all the loose ends. It will be a sad peice, but one that gives closure to all involved".
Expect to see this one off peice in the late Autumn on Soapboards.
