Former Coronation Street star Suranne Jones has split from long-term partner Lorenzo Giove.

The actress, who played Karen McDonald in the Weatherfield soap, said that she was "very sad and upset" following the break-up.

She told the Sunday Mirror: "There is no-one else involved, but unfortunately the relationship has just run its course. It just wasn't meant to be. Deciding to end a relationship is never easy but we both felt this was for the best."

Jones is now living by herself after plumber Giove moved out of their Manchester home. The couple started dating in 2006 and were reportedly planning to wed.

She quit the soap in 2004, and currently stars in ITV1's Unforgiven.

And Coronation Street actress Vicky Binns has broken up with her boyfriend, reports say.

The couple split following a 10-month relationship after meeting at the birthday party of Binns's co-star Kim Ryder. Her ex-partner was known only as Chris.

"Vicky really thought he was one. She kept him under wraps and only brought him out a few times on nights out with the cast. They were always holding hands and gazing into each other's eyes," a source told the News Of The World.

Binns recently revealed her excitement over her character Molly Dobbs's upcoming affair storyline, which begins tomorrow night on the ITV1 soap.

Seems they are not very lucky in love, as Corrie characters and in real life :(

CORRIE fave Michael Le Vell is feeling the pressure - to bring back his character's moustache.
He sported a bushy 'tache when he joined the ITV soap as Kevin Webster 26 years ago.

But fans keep pestering him to grow the Webster whiskers once again.

He said: "I might give it a go for a few episodes, maybe for next year's 50th anniversary."

It suited him then, but now? I am not so sure, would have to see it first. :lol:

Julia Haworth has revealed that she regards Coronation Street as her "second home".

The 29-year-old actress, who plays Claire Peacock, insisted that she does not expect the novelty of being part of the iconic soap to ever wear off.

Haworth told Metro: "It was very strange walking down the cobbles, but very quickly you don't take it for granted - I still walk into the Rovers and smile even to this day."

She added: "It does become your second home really. You walk down the street as if it's a real street.

"When you have the privilege to take people round - you know, people that have bidded in charity auctions for it whatever - there's a real feeling of pride when you take people round and you can explain to them why the street's so small."

Haworth joined Coronation Street in 2003 and her alter-ego has since featured in a number of dramatic plotlines, including post-natal depression and child kidnapping stories.

She commented: "I was 23 when I started, and I'd been watching it on the television for 20-odd years. It's a brilliant place to work, and I think if you asked anyone here they'd say exactly the same."

Looking forward to her having a big storyline again :)

CORRIE actor Simon Gregson rushed to hospital yesterday after his fiancee went into labour eight weeks early.

Corrie bosses wrote him out of scenes so he could stay with Emma Gleaves.

Hope everything will be ok for them.

NOSY-PARKER Norris Cole's dreams come true in a new Corrie ad - which sees him spy on all his neighbours.


The busybody is armed with all manner of James Bond-style gadgets to poke his nose into what the Street's residents are getting up to.

The clip - which promotes ITV's Coronation Street website - shows Norris taking delight in catching David hassling Tina and Maria getting friendly with Tony.

Steve, Becky, Eileen and Lloyd are among the snoop's other victims.

The trailer hits screens on July 15
