Katherine Kelly has revealed that she would "always" consider a return to Coronation Street.
The Becky McDonald actress, who announced her departure in April, will last be seen on the Weatherfield serial at the end of this year.
Speaking at last night's TV Choice Awards, she told Yahoo: "I would always consider going back to Coronation Street.
"I've had the nicest time there. I'm really only leaving for a change and I made that really clear."
The 31-year-old actress confirmed that producers have granted her request not to be killed off.
"No she won't [be killed off], that's the one thing I can tell you," the star said.
Of whether Becky will reconcile with estranged husband Steve, Kelly added: "I don't know. She's very hurt about the pregnancy thing.
"I know it was a one night stand and he still loves Becky, but actions speak louder than words

I hope she does return to the cobbles soon. Her and Steve were one of the best couples until toxic Tracy returned.

Katherine Kelly has revealed that her upcoming theatre role is the "opposite" of playing Becky McDonald in Coronation Street.
The actress will leave the soap in December after playing the barmaid for five years. She will appear in a new production of Oliver Goldsmith's play She Stoops To Conquer at London's National Theatre from January.
"I'm so excited and I'm really looking forward to it all but I'm trying not to think too much about that so I can concentrate on giving Becky the send-off she deserves," she told the Press Association.
"I finish Coronation Street on the Friday and start rehearsals for that on Monday and it's the complete opposite, it couldn't be a more opposite role to Becky.
"It's in the 1700s set in the west country, the restoration period. [My character] pretends to be a maid to conquer the man she wants to marry."
Kelly added that she originally planned to travel after finishing work on the soap, but that the theatre opportunity was too good to turn down.
"To be honest I was really happy about having a rest in January. When [Coronation Street producer] Phil Collinson and I had the chat about leaving I had such plans.
"I never did the travelling thing because I went to RADA at 18 until I was 21 then went straight into work and that was it. So I was going to Cambodia, Vietnam, I had it all lined up, two months with a backpack on, but no - it's always the best laid plans."
Katherine Kelly recently said that she will "always" be open for a return to Coronation Street in the future.

Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly has joked that she is to blame for her character Becky McDonald's recent split from husband Steve.
Becky and Steve (Simon Gregson) hit the rocks earlier this year as the pressure of Tracy Barlow's (Kate Ford) return and losing custody of Max took its toll on their relationship.
Kelly announced her decision to leave Coronation Street in April and her final scenes will air in early 2012, when the Becky, Steve and Tracy love triangle reaches its climax.
In an interview with This Morning as part of the programme's Soap's Leading Ladies series, the actress was asked why Becky and Steve's romance had to come to an end.
Kelly replied: "Because I handed my notice in and they had to break us up! I think if I wasn't going, I really think that it would still go on.
"In fact, I know when Kate Ford came back, I spoke to the producer and he said, 'This is what is going to happen, and if you decide to stay then it won't break them up, and if you do decide to go then it will break them up'."
Admitting that the break-up was her fault, Kelly laughed: "That's what Simon Gregson says to me when I say it's so sad, and he says, 'Well it's your own fault!'"
The 31-year-old added that she will miss playing her character once she films her final scenes later this year.
Kelly said: "I'm already tearing up, my leaving do I might not bother putting mascara on that night - I'm going to really miss… Well she might not be away forever, we'll see!"

Coronation Street stars Simon Gregson and Katherine Kelly were out on location last night to film emotional scenes for their characters Steve and Becky McDonald.
The pair were pictured outside The Midland Hotel in Manchester as they shot a bittersweet moment for the estranged couple, who split earlier this year.
The scenes see Becky sharing a hug with Steve following a deep conversation, before bidding farewell to him and sadly walking off alone.
Full storyline details for the scenes are expected to emerge later this year. However, some reports have speculated that this could be the moment that Steve makes his final choice to stay with pregnant Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) rather than reuniting with Becky.
Kelly announced her decision to leave Coronation Street in April and she is expected to finish filming next month. Her final scenes will air in early 2012.

BECKY McDonald is in tears as she says goodbye to her ex-lover Steve for the final time in new scenes from Coronation Street.
The blonde, played by Katherine Kelly, sobs as she walks away from Steve (Simon Gregson) after he chooses Tracy over her.
His decision comes after scheming Tracy (Kate Ford) tells him she's pregnant with twins following their one-night stand.
Katherine Kelly is leaving the ITV1 soap early next year and it's thought the love triangle between Steve, Becky and Tracy will play a big part in her dramatic exit storyline.
These scenes, which were filmed outside The Midland Hotel in Manchester last night, see Becky and Steve having a deep conversation before she hugs him and walks away.
Tracy, who suspects the pair have gone to a hotel for a night of lust, is then seen arriving outside in a taxi after an emotional Becky has left the scene.
Corrie bosses recently announced that ex-Holby City star Jeremy Sheffield will join the cobbles as Becky's new love interest later this year.
Katherine, 31, said she thinks soap bosses broke off the relationship between Becky and Steve after she announced she was leaving the soap last April.
She explained: "I handed in my notice and they had to break us up! I think if I wasn't going, I really think that it would still go on.
"In fact, I know when Kate Ford came back, I spoke to the producer and he said, 'This is what is going to happen, and if you decide to stay then it won't break them up, and if you do decide to go then it will break them up'."

Coronation Street's Becky McDonald will be falsely accused of killing Tracy Barlow's unborn babies in a forthcoming storyline, a report has claimed.
Becky, played by Katherine Kelly, will be left devastated when Tracy (Kate Ford) makes the malicious claim against her later this year, according to the Daily Star.
The latest twist in the pair's ongoing war over Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is believed to begin when Tracy suspects that Becky has spent the night with the Rovers boss.
When Becky denies any rendezvous with Steve, the two women row - which leads to Tracy slipping and falling down a set of stairs.
Tracy is expected to quickly use the situation to her advantage, claiming that Becky has killed her babies as she is rushed to hospital.
However, viewers will know that Tracy is lying as she suffers a miscarriage a few days before the altercation - meaning that the loss of her and Steve's twins has nothing to do with Becky.
Tracy knows that her false claim is the perfect way to destroy Becky's reputation, and Steve is quickly fooled by her lies.
As Tracy's mum Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) knows the truth of the matter, the schemer reportedly begs her to keep quiet, saying: "He has to believe it was Becky's fault or he'll go back to her. If you don't support me on this, it's the end of me and Steve."
Early details of this storyline first emerged back in June. The plot is expected to build up to Becky's departure from the cobbles in the New Year.
