Evening All. Hope you’ve all had a lovely Xmas day.
I actually watched the episode live after all. Ryan’s and Danny’s acting throughout was amazing and brilliant.
Too much Dr Boring and Lawrence [completely OTT in the dream sequence], PD was awful, hated her scenes.
Good to see Val again.
I stupidly thought there was going to be a different outcome to what we got as I was sure there was a mention in earlier spoilers that :ninja:kissed Dr at The Dingles to get him to stay but as that didn’t happen I thought we’d been misled hopefully as Dr left.
The boys absolutely brilliant and heartbreaking in that final scene, however, I obviously missed the context of it as I thought that scene was meant to tie up loose ends in their relationship and give signs of what’s to happen in the future for them and all I saw was tidying everything up and putting it all away in a box to finish it off finally. If I was a general viewer I would look at that and say they’ve had a brilliant relationship/partnership but now it’s over for good.
How can they reunite them after that?
Sorry guys I know I probably should have really enjoyed that episode, and yes I did with the way it was filmed and the way Ryan especially acted throughout but it did not leave me with hope for the future and has actually made me feel that it maybe would have been best if they had just ended it there as I feel IM & ED have pushed them too far apart and I may be completely wrong but I think they might have lost a few more viewers/fans through it.
Don’t mean to put a dampener on the festivities guys that was just my take on it I’ll probably see if differently tomorrow after the Gin haze wears off.:cool:🍾
Great perfotmances from Danny and Ryan tonight, as well as from many of the other players. Also, I was so pleased to see Val. That was wonderful. *
A huge and well-desrved thank you to Emmerdale and ITV for being brave enough to broadcast an episode devoted, in one way or another, to Robron on Christmas Day. Clearly they are very keen to keep us shippers engaged. I can't really see that the episode will have had much of an appeal to the more general Emmerdale audience, and certainly not to the more casual viewer. It will just accelerate the general move back to Walford and Weatherfield that's been gathering place these last few months. There was nothing there for the non-Robron fan watching.
However, as a Robron fan, it was an excellent episode for all sorts of reasons. I couldn't take my eyes off the TV. Howerver, I'm resereving my judgement about it's impact on the story arc and dynamic. It's sort of told me what I already knew or what I strongly anticipated. Other than that, the overall message of the episode was 'wait and keep on waiting.' A message clearly reinforced by Ryan Hawley in interviews released tonight.
That's not good enough for me. I'm fed up of waiting and of being manipulated and played by Iain M. I now want fast, firm, long-lasting and realistic first steps in the right direction for Robron. And I need that to happen soon in order for me to keep shipping. It's all been quite boring for far too long now. It's been the Emma and Rhona stuff that has kept me enthusiastically watching Emmerdale, not Robron.
*I ask myself why she was written out of Emmerdale, when all that Charlie Hardwick had wanted was an extended break. A huge mistake but anyway.
Merry Christmas all!
I liked the episode tonight but it was hard to watch the Aaron and Rob scene at the hospital- so much pain and clearly both love each other deeply. It's good that Rob wants to change and part of that is to let Aaron go and be happy. But the annoying part is Aaron had made his decision when he walked by Alex and went to see Rob. Rob saying that he wanted him to be happy with Alex pushed Aaron back with Alex. Hopefully it won't be long until they are back together in the next year. What I don't understand is why Alex would want to be second best and be sloppy seconds :nono:
Hi there Tink. Good to see you here. :)
As for Alex, I hadn't thought of it that way. Why would he want to be second best? Clearly he has no self respect. :D
Does anyone else think the kiss between :ninja:and the Dr was cut? Or was that not a definite spoiler?
Good Morning All:cheer:
Hope you had a great Christmas Day and are sufficiently stuffed with turkey and mince pies and mulled wine or whatever your preference is.🍷
The acting from our boys last night was outstanding and very emotional. I know this sounds melodramatic and isn’t how things should be after such performances but I now personally feel ‘empty’ and that my connection to our boys has been cut.:crying:
I have no desire to spend the next few weeks seeing Dr getting into :ninja:s pants and to see :cartman: trying to possibly rebuild a relationship with PD and the baby. Therefore I am going to take a step back for a while and will not watch the episodes until I’ve checked in and chatted with you guys on a daily basis to see how the land lies and wether it is worth starting to get thoroughly invested again. :hmm:
I will rely on you wonderful people and your brilliant insights into situations to guide me on how I move forward with this.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of the festive period doing whatever you have planned.👍🏻
I know how you feel. I think you are doing the right thing in checking first before deciding to watch the episode. I'll be honest, I'm just bored. You all know why from the post that I made last night. Though, I am looking forward to the White stuff coming up in mid-January.
PS - Happy Boxing Day to everyone.
Completely off topic but Aaron’s cell mate - Ethan, made a guest appearance in Coronation Streets Christmas episode last night.
