Eva Mendes: 'I carried a knife'
Eva Mendes has admitted to carrying a knife and mace for protection.
The 34-year-old revealed that she had the weapons while working on 2001's violent crime drama Training Day with Denzel Washington.
The actress told Interview magazine: "I did carry a little blade. My God, with obviously no intention to ever use it. I had mace as well. But the blade sounded cooler in interviews. I was young and stupid."
Mendes added that she was going through a rebellious "Angelina Jolie phase" at the time.
"That was my controversial stage where I'd just started acting," she explained. "I went through my little Angelina Jolie phase, like I was really tough."
Hardly setting a good image.
Brand blasted for rape joke
COMIC RUSSELL BRAND was condemned by rape charities yesterday after he rang a sex attack hotline during a gig.
Brand, 33, borrowed a mobile phone from an audience member to call the police number.
He told the operator he had seen a suspicious man wearing polka dot trousers and a pink dayglo cap lurking in an underpass.
His prank in Northampton came after local cops had been hunting a man dubbed “The Underpass Attacker” for three sex assaults.
Brand told the operator to hoots of laughter from his audience: “I had someone come near my underpass. He was dressed atrociously. He looked like TIMMY MALLETT.”
Asked where the laughter was coming from, he told the operator he was watching The Bill on TV before saying his name was Sarah.
When asked for his number, he said: “I didn’t know it was a dating line. Would you be interested in going out for dinner?”
He then sang Just The Two Of Us down the line until the exasperated operator hung up.
A clip of Saturday’s show has been placed on internet site YouTube, attracting 700 hits.
But Lynda Yorke, of Leicester Rape Crisis, said last night: “I don’t think it’s amusing. It’s in very poor taste.
“The issue of sexual assault is often belittled and such callous behaviour is extremely hurtful to the victims.”
Brand later apologised, saying: “I am devastated by the possibility I may have offended vulnerable people.”
I have seen very little of his shows but I don't find him funny at the best of times and this phone call was totally out of order. What a plonker :thumbsdow
Will Smith: 'I have an open marriage'
Will Smith has disclosed that he and wife Jada Pinkett Smith often talk about having sex with other people.
Smith, who earlier admitted that divorce wasn't an option for the couple, told Reveal that an open relationship is good for their marriage.
He said: "Our perspective is, you don't avoid what's natural and you're going to be attracted to people.
"And if it came down to it, then one would say to the other: 'Look, I need to have sex with somebody. Now, I'm not going to if you don't approve of it'."
Smith suggested that his marriage would survive a permitted affair because of his and wife Jada's honesty.
He commented: "In our marriage vows, we didn't say 'forsaking all others'. We said 'you will never hear I did something afterwards'. Because if that happens the relationship is destroyed."
Not my thing, why commit yourself to one person if you still go off with somebody else? And I certainly would not permit an affair :nono:
