LOL Splashy. I`m still awake knitting while watching my soaps. I`m knitting a blanket for my oldest son and his fiancee for their wedding in October. I hope I finish it in time...it`s taking ages.Quote:

I found out to my chagrin that`s what I should`ve used for my lenses instead of tissues over the years. It would`ve saved on the wear and tear.

Great advice re the specs, kitchen cloth etc scratch the lenses I learnt that to my cost.

Got my new glasses... yikes ... im using the reading ones now and I can actually use the lap top at normal mode well ish, its more comfortable in magnification of 200% but then pre this I was at 500% mag minimum.
Alas today evil sister rang my land lady and all hell broke out.
But Im still loving my new glasses.

Evil sister called landlady out of the blue this week, well as evil sis has stolen 25k of our aunts money and sought before I stopped her to get 100k in total the conversation didnt go well and land lady put the phone down on her in the end, personally I would of slammed it down the second she spoke.
Landlady then sent an email asking evil sis for her reply to being accused of stealing our aunts money who sold her house to pay for care as she has dementia/Alzheimers. Of course landlady has had no reply from the evil one as there cant be any justification for her act. But I know this is the beginning of something else. The evil one only calls when shes after something, normally money or a free place to dump her kids when she comes over here from Ozz.
Seems Im spot on, evil sis is getting remarried so I hear next year, but that cant be the twist, there is something else we dont know. Spent the day with two people we love but they didnt spill and we dont like to put them in the middle of this mess, but we know they are being manipulated but as nice people we roll with it as they love Ozz sis and we love them so .... well
Im guessing she wants money to pay for her wedding or shes moving back here and needs money full stop, maybe even wants to move in with landlady and me to save money when she comes, I wouldnt put anything beyond her, she kicked her elderley mum out of her bed when she came here before despite being told she couldn't stay before she came...
The women's an awful human being, have you ever heard of someone demanding their inheritance when the relative is still alive? Well she did that..
Deep breath..... but its the same deal as with my stalker, I cant go after her like I really want to as the people I love will be caught in the cross fire.
I met by aunt a few weeks ago after years of my own illness, she didnt recognise me but I could tell she kinda did in a way as she kept looking at me and it rips me apart that someone could just see her situation as something to gain from.
Anyway, have I told you about my new glasses.
I feel for you Splashy. Your sister sounds like a right piece of work! It's unimaginable that someone could be so lacking in empathy as to steal from a relative with dementia. :angry:
I'm very lucky that my close relatives are all very decent people. We have plenty of ups and downs, but nobody is selfish or malicious or deliberately nasty. Still, it sounds as if you have lots of good people in your life - including your landlady (who sounds like a bit of a character :D).
Tell me more about these new glasses of yours. :p

Today I diagnosed myself as having Fan blade scotoma which was nice.
(a bright white blade shape in my right eye I keep seeing now and then, youd think the maculars would hide it)

I'm not a Trekkie but I'm surrounded by them so have watched a fair bit over the years. I noticed recently that all the series are on Netflix now so I might actually sit down and watch the whole lot at some point. I kind of have a resistance to it because my family have tried to brainwash me into enjoying it. I've always been quite rebellious so of course I insist that I dislike it. Exactly the same thing happened with tennis. :D

Opened a window, stuck out my head to bring the fresh days air into my lungs and then got a huge big black spider in my face hanging from a web above the frame "yikes"
Not a fan of spiders but I try not to kill them, this one is still lose in my bedroom still as it jumped on the ground to escape my mug in its face.
The gits I hate at the moment are the hornets, they dont buzz with my eye sight they look like flys.
I hate hornets too though I'm very lucky not to have had many close encounters with them. I didn't realise they don't buzz!
I'm quite fond of spiders and only put them outside if they're taking over the house or if I spot one of those big thick-legged ones. I'm pleased to hear you try not to kill spiders Splashy. :thumbsup:
Didn't know Hornets don't buzz cause they sure make a hell of a noise when they come into my house... Huge feckers... My boyfriend normally takes care of them for me

Today Landlady got the keys to the new girl guide and Rainbows hall, alas none of the keys worked for front or back door.. in total that was 20 cut keys didnt match either door.. someone made an opps..luckily she caught it today and now has the right keys and no one else will be given the wrong keys as several packs use the hall...but her monday meeting would of been a farse if she had not gone and checked.

I've just read an interesting fact that the spindly daddy long legs spiders which tend to occupy ceiling corners here in the UK eat large house spiders as well as other insects. Good reason for letting them live on our ceilings undisturbed (which I do anyway since they cause me no anxiety)! They can't survive outdoors in the winter so it's kinder to leave them inside - as well as being good for the ecosystem of the home.
I never kill any spiders (or any other insects if I can possibly help it) though I do usually put large spiders out if I can catch them. It's good to remember that all spiders are hunters and prey on the other insects, so having them as house guests significantly reduces other bugs around our homes. :)
