faye in college when did that happen?
A black eye... 'fell' down the stairs... will this lead to domestic abuse accusations?
Just for how much was Paula's invoice? Surely not that high that the house needs to be sold or Tim's shares to be sold???
Far too much Kate and Rana for me at the moment.
They are really irritating.
Loving Sally and Abi in prison. Especially the I used to watch Bad Girls comment!
tim was too drunk to do anything but gina wants him and will lie, a bad egg sister
She definately is lying the evil witch
Poor Jenny. LOL at Evelyn saying to Ruby Santa would be shot down in Russia. I could see the pound signs in Lewis eyes. Cha-Ching!
I want to slap Gina hard!
tim knows the truth about time, who did kate and alya spend christmas with?
Of course she is paranoid! Look at it from Jenny's point of view. After the vile things that Johnny said to Jenny when Aiden died, the way he was around slapper Liz, I would track the dirty sod, never mind that he is innocent this time. When the trust has gone??? If I were Jenny I would go for a divorce and get everything she can. Liz should have been sacked from day one.
Gina out in the street. :cheer:
tim able to get a visit and call to sally on christmas day, laid back easy going on rules prison
Not to mention Liz still doesn't seem to see that she's causing problems. When Johnny sacked her, she was surprised?
Because Jenny agreed to let her work there... presumably thinking she could keep an eye on both of them. And they have not done anything wrong since so this came out of the blue for Liz. Now we have to sit through Jenny and Johnny lying through their teeth instead of being honest. Jenny needs to sort out her drinking and maybe relationship guidance would do both of them some good...
I didn't see that coming at the end of Christmas Day's episode.
Not seen last night yet but hoping to catch up at some point today. I'm starting to like Evelyn and Tyrone. She's very sweet when she wants to be.
I am sure solicitors will allow for payment plans if a bill is as high as this one, 22k. I am surprised nobody has ever mentioned it. And instead of selling the house, why has a re-mortgage not been mentioned? I also think Sally paid the mortgage off when she got the money from Kevin's scratch card...?
Of course in the normal world, the cost of her services would all have been explained before she was appointed and what it could mean if the case was lost etc. etc. However, as we know, Weatherfield is not in the normal world, it inhabits a space all of its own in some weird parallel dimension.
no one told gail her precious nicky got married and returned
thanks to parkerman: May I add in wishing that the writers would remember that us watching this soap are ordinary consumer-conscious people where we do ask for a cost estimate of any service or item?
Gail is sure trying to win the prize for biggest gurner again.
There was something spooky about the snooker club.
Dev and Kirk had to go down a flight of stairs from street level suggesting it was under ground yet you could see the fireworks through the windows.
is gary selling jason's builder's tools?
Oh Rana you fool....she's saying that SHE'S clingy and/or demanding. How many minutes will it be till Kate is back up to her old tricks.
was lewis conning audrey fleecing her? how can carla afford a boat but not somewhere permanent to live, she stood roy up for nye
I did not see any leaks or spoilers about the Lewis death plot, so it came as a complete surprize and made the episode much more enjoyable (not that I was glad to see Lewis meet his end). This is the way soaps used to be, when we were not told plots in advance, wish they would go back to doing it this way.
Also, she didn't move in with Roy for financial reasons; it was mostly because she needed somewhere to stay near her family when she had kidney failure. I can't believe she stood Roy up - we didn't see her apologise either. Speaking of Roy, he seems to spend most of his time driving batty women around recently. (Evelyn and Mary)
That boat's going to become an eyesore if Peter doesn't move it soon. Are you allowed to keep a huge boat like that on a residential street?
irish paddy jude had some charisma but poor mary losing her son and money
Yes Mary, you are a stupid woman.
I can't believe she fell for his lies again. I realise she desperately wanted to believe him but handing over all that money was a step too far. I hope Jude never comes back after this.
I was very surprised at Roy repeating the now discredited story about Margaret Thatcher helping to invent soft ice cream.
Mr-Whippy-style soft-serve ice-cream originated in the US about a decade before Mrs Thatcher worked at J Lyons. When soft-serve arrived in the UK, J Lyons was indeed at the forefront – but it had teamed up with the US ice-cream giant Mister Softee and operated franchises under that name.
Thatcher was a food research scientist at J Lyons but, as a Royal Society article noted in May 2011, the details of her work there are sketchy. She reportedly worked on the quality of cake and pie fillings as well as ice-cream.
The idea of Thatcher helping to invent soft ice cream is really a story invented by her opponents because it added air, lowered quality and raised profits.
I always thought Roy was a stickler for the facts.
