I liked your theory about Emma framing Ross so she could keep Moses. That would be an original storyline.

I remember someone posting a preview on here a couple of months ago that had a snippet about Ross and Emma. It said something along the lines of them being very much alike but someone replaces him in her affections and it could have consequences. That seems obvious to me that its about Moses and with the news about James it could all fit in.

Michael Parr has recently filmed a part for an upcoming movie "Silent Hill".

For him to do this, i'm not expecting a lot of scenes in Emmerdale coming up. Even with James' exit. Sad really that ED are wasting a talented actor who won a lot of awards for the show last year.

Its also worth pointing out that directors and actors (from Emmerdale) have been tweeting about filming scenes with Michael in the past few days. I think they are filming tha aftermath of James' death now.
I was just thinking, with James about to be killed off will we get to see Nana Barton? From what they said about her in the episode she was mentioned, she is a bit of an old battleaxe. I would love to see Ross getting told off by his gran :)
Yeah and since he has been in the background IMO the show has been rubbish. I do like other characters of course but I just hate the storylines, splitting Lisa and Zak up, Cain and desperate Charity, James and Moira (yawnnn) and Belle needs a happier storyline. The only storyline that sounds promising is James' death, I want to see all the brothers interact more.

It isn't just Michael that has taken a back seat though all of the Barton's have and I get the feeling it's because they are going to have a big few months over Christmas and new year
Yeah, I had a quick look on facebook earlier and it looks as though the Christmas episodes have already been filmed. It will obviously be centred around James' death, on another forum someone sent me a link of pictures of Gillain Kearney (Emma) filming and she was buying as the person described "Stuff for a murder".

Emmerdale fans are outraged over Charity and Ross's dognapping plot
It's been branded "disgraceful".
Emmerdale has been slammed by its viewers and a charity over its dognapping plot.
Tonight's episode saw Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Ross Barton (Michael Parr) discuss stealing a dog for money, with Ross describing it as "operation Snatch Wolfie".
It's led to Dog Theft Action complaining to the soap directly. "Complaint emailed to #emmerdale expressing concerns about the latest storyline on #dogtheft #irresponsible very disappointed," they wrote on Twitter.
And the charity weren't the only ones angry about the plot. One fan claimed it meant the show was going to "trivialise the issue of dog theft", while another branded the storyline as "disgraceful".
"Seriously? Dognapping scam? All these dog thefts and heartbroken owners and Ross telling Charity there's money to be made," wrote one viewer.
Digital Spy has reached out to the show for comment.
Charity and Ross discussed the scheme when she quizzed him on how much cash he had in his wallet.
She laughed when he told her it was from a "dognapping scam", leading him to say he was serious: "You've no idea how much money can be made from these rat-faced pedigree things."
However, tomorrow's episode will see the duo's plan backfire spectacularly when a Rottweiler turns on them and leaves them trapped on top of a climbing frame.
It leads to Charity confiding in Ross that she's planning to leave and take Moses with her. He reacts angrily, but it's not long until they're kissing. That is, until Cain arrives and she quickly drops Ross for the man she has true feelings for.
Emmerdale continues tomorrow (September 27) at 7pm on ITV.

After last years amazing Inside Soap Award results. Michael Parr is rather neglected this year. Sad!
But it just echoes what I have been saying. Ross is now a "nothing character". He's rarely on screen and for the bits he is, they turn him into a joke.
I'm really sorry for Michael Parr. He is IMO the shows best actor that steals every scene he's in. He won the show tons of awards last year and this is how they award him and his character.
I have said this for the majority of the year.
They have done a complete u-turn on him this year which is really damaging him overall as a character, not progression.
Ross was introduced to be the next Cain, tough and hard. Loveable Rogue - Michael Parr called him to start with.
Then, last year, they turned him into a would-be killer. I can just about believe that under the circumstances, Ross was at his lowest so I do believe that writing.
However, this year he has become truely pathetic. What a hardman he is....
- Scared of needles/injections
- Scared of clowns
- Scared of Jimmy King
- Scared of Dan Spencer
I wonder what else will be revealed of this man's fears! Ross hasn't been shortlisted for Best Bad Boy, but considering the above I'm not surprised.
Sorry, Michael, you are great but the writers are becoming your worst enemy on the show!

Ross was never a loveable rogue. He started as a nasty crim and has continued down the same path. Russ may be a wannabe Cain, but he is just an incompetent thug who has left a long path of criminal fiascos in his wake!
Oh come on he was always going to be up against it this year seeing as he hasn't had all that much screen time. He got those awards last year deservedly but he hasn't had a lot to do this year so obviously he wont be shortlisted
I think you need to be a little bit more patient. Ross needed to be a background character for a bit and we know a big story is coming
And he doesn't need to be a bad boy all the time. We have seen more of his silly cheeky side lately but the they have tried to do light hearted stuff more aswell with others. NOT just Ross
At the start of the year I conceded in the fact Ross was going to have little air time. That's not what bothers me. What we have seen of Ross is.
What do we do for next year's storylines? Stick to how we knew Ross last year or how he is this year. He looks like Ross. He talks like Ross. But this year Ross is not Ross.
He is an imposter. Whilst the real Ross is.on a break. Problem with that is a lot of damage will be done for the fly by viewers.

This is such an overreaction, for a start Ross isn't scared of Dan he just feels guilt as its his mate who he works with everyday. The Jimmy thing was also nothing, he hardly ran away expecting a punch. I think anyone getting caught listening to there neighbours having sex would run and feel embarrassed. Also how is a fear of clowns and needles a weakness? Everyone has phobias, some of the strongest people I know have the weirdest fears I have heard of. A quiet year does not ruin or change a character, Ross will always be a bad boy, just be patient and wait for a storyline. He has been on screen much more these past few weeks and has the James storyline coming up soon.
Really? I thought the psycho Ross who shot Robert and hung Pete off a viaduct was an impostor. This Ross is cheeky, relatively light hearted but he still has his mischievous side and his scams. From what I can see you're the only one who is worried about his character, I think its improved.

I think you need to remember what Ross was actually like when he joined the show, he done a lot of small jobs and scams but he was mainly just cheeky and sarcastic. Pretty much like he is now, the Ross last year was a result of his affair with Debbie and his brother almost killing him, he was messed up and now he's moving on.
