In the very early days of the Mersey Sound, Gerry and the Pacemakers was my favourite group, even above The Beatles. I never saw them at the time, but, fortunately, I got to see Gerry Marsden at my theatre about three years ago. He was very frail and could barely walk properly. His speaking voice was also very weak, but as soon as he got on stage he changed completely and was still able to belt out all the old favourites just like the old days.Quote:

It was Pagett's idea to exit the series because she said she "didn't want to be known for one thing only."
