Thanks! Me too...I'm very nervous about it if truth be told.

Im downsizing my offces in the borough i whistleblew in. I have lost 3 contracts totalling about 500k because of my whistleblowing. So my team is reducing in size dramatically but i have managed to transfer them over to new contractors. So no redundancies thank goodness. Anyway means i have to clear 22 years of stuff as thats how long i have worked there. So very similar as i am giving loads of stuff away to charities for free. Hopefully it will be gone in another week. A very difficult time for me and things have been very bad since Dec. one daughter quit teaching in her newly qualified teacher post. She was put under too much pressure. my other daughter got depression and now is taking a year out from Uni. Thanks Dazzle for all your support during the last months.
You're welcome. I had hoped things were a little better for you now but didn't like to ask. At least it must have been a big weight off your mind not to have had to make anyone redundant.
My downsizing is a lot less daunting than what you're having to do. Good luck with the rest of it. :)

Oh dear Swmc66 -I knew things were.difficult for you from
your earlier posts-but didnt realise how bad
I glad Dazzle was able to give you support!
Hope things now start improving and for your daughters
the one who is a teacher worked so hard
and the other-depression is a terrible ilness to suffer
best wishes--maidmarian
Thank you all. I am getting through it with support.
The worse bit has been is that the NHS person i whistleblew against got someone to put a whistleblowing complaint against me and my organisation with false allegations in Dec. Thats how i lost one contract as it was a timely complaint during a tender process so i would not get a key cntract renewed. Now lots of people looking stupid as they realise it is revenge for my whistleblowing 2 years ago as that person who put a complaint against me has a job with the person i put a complaint in about. Happy days
It took me ages to catch up on corrie on Monday night. Five episodes back to back . At lunch time the next day i caught up with the monday 9pm episode. So at 8.55 last night i thought i was finally going to enjoy watching an episode in peace and quiet. Well there was no such chance.
So many neighbours came knocking on my door it was unbelievable. One for yogurt, another one to give me some food, another one asking me if i have details of a gardner. Then my husband came back from a Council meeting asking me about a woman who had turned up at 7pm re her passport. Finally a 17 year old friend of my son turned up after being made homeless by his stepdad. So ended up sorting him out and sorting blankets etc my husband will sort a place for him today hopefully. Now i need to sort out where i can watch corrie tonight without disturbance. I might drive 45 mins to Brentwood and watch with an old friend of mine.

You had a busy night indeed! I hope you manage to catch up with Corrie today - and that it was worth the wait! :D
I got me a gorgeous new family member today. Please welcome little Benny.
I spent weeks knitting him a blankie with his name on to welcome him to our home, and it turns out that he is actually a she. So she is now known as Bennita....Benny for short LOL. Isn`t she adorable.

Hello Benny, you are absolutely gorgeous xxx
Benny's absolutely beautiful, TL. I can tell she's going to be loved to bits! :)
Thanks so much Perdita and Dazzle ♥
Bennita has already settled in - even though she has only been here a few hours. She has decided that its fun to walk all over my keyboard and she closed out my windows...including pinned tabs. The little minx.
She`s so thin though - I can feel her ribs. So I will definitely have to fatten her up.
Bennita reminds me of another ginger and white kitten I had a few years ago. We adopted little Monty from the animal shelter. And we made sure he had all his jabs when he left the animal shelter. Unfortunately though he must have had feline leukemia in his system from birth as we had to take him to the vets to be put to sleep less than two years later. :(
We got Bennita from a friend of a friend from the same area where the animal shelter is located in Oak Hill. So I`m wondering if Bennita is a distant relative of Monty from a few generations....their colouring is too similar to be a coincidence.
Either way I am so delighted with her. After running around, she is finally napping now bless her heart,
Here is a picture of Monty to show you why I think they could be related somehow.

Yes, they are very similar. Poor Monty :( - I hope little Bennita is luckier than him.

I just couldn`t settle on her name Dazzle. I chose the name Benny the day he was born, and he was promised to me from day one. Apparently its quite rare for a ginger and white cat to be female.
But now she is at my home, and settled in beautifully, I have decided to call her Bessie. Her full name is Bessie Bumble because the orange and white stripes on her tail makes her look like a bumble bee.
Here she is on her blankie. But now she`s asleep on it. The poor little thing has had a long day and is tuckered out.

Yes, I'd forgotten about ginger and white cats being almost exclusively male. Their female equivalents are tortoiseshell and white cats (black, ginger and white). Bessie is probably one of the latter but with her dark patches missing. :D
Bessie`s Mother Sally doesn`t look like she fed her very much as Bessie is so skinny her ribs are poking through. But she`s had a good feed today.
:(
Bessie has a sister who is calico, the rest in the litter are 2 boys - not sure what colour they are.
I`ve always had a fondness for ginger cats.....ginger and white being my fave. Over the years we`ve had cats of every colour and colour combination. LOL.
Day 3 of our kitten
So disregard everything that I said...he`s definitely a boy. My hubby said that he must`ve been scared when he first got here, so his knackers must`ve been hidden in fright. I don`t go around checking kittys plumbing bits, so I took my hubbys word for it.
:D
Benny has settled in really well. Here is his latest pic. He`s snoozing on the blankie I knitted for him after a busy morning playing with his new toys we bought hm. Well actually playing with the packaging the catnip mice came in rather than the catnip mice themselves.
At least now we know he`s a boy I don`t have to make him another blankie with his name on
:D

He looks sooooo content in that pic. :D
My 21 year old daughter applied for a year off from university as she has mental health issues. The university have rejected her application and expect her to come back to university and try and compkete her course. She has to retake her 2nd year as she has not attended due to ill health since december. So they expect her to turn up unwell. I spoke to her and she was in floods of tears. She is with her uncle in kuwait as part of her recovery. He is so good with her and understands mental health issues as a close friend of his has been managing it all these years. Anyway bottom line is my daughter has had to completely quit university as she cannot go back and try and muddle through when she is not well enough to function.
I have sent an email to the university and told them excatly what i thought of their support mechanisms and understanding of mental health issues. I don't know where she goes from here but we will take a day at a time.

That's terrible, I'm really shocked at their insensitivity! Big hugs to you and your daughter xxx
I am so sorry to hear that .. You would have expected much more understanding from an educational authority, shame on them. Would be interesting to hear if you get a reply from them in response to your email. I hope your daughter gets better soon. Maybe she can go back to studying at a later time when she is able to. xxx
I'm moving home today. I'm completely knackered already!
Just sitting down for a rest and a quick read of SoapBoards. I can't do without my fix! :D
Hope it goes well x
Thanks guys, I'm in my new home now, a tiny and very old one bedroom house. I'm utterly exhausted! :)
Congratulations Dazzle.
There is no greater feeling of triumph, and sense of accomplishment when you spend your first night in your new home after all your hard graft and preparation. And no one knows that more than me. As a Navy wife, hubby and I have moved houses (and states) about 8 times in hubby`s Navy 20 year navy career.
Enjoy your new home, and just spend today being lazy - you have earned it.
:cheer:
sigh... forgot to Go Advanced :o
Thanks for your good wishes lovely forum members, they're much appreciated
Wow Perdita.....that`s way more than me.
My most important thing I learned about packing is that the computer and desk gets moved last, and it`s the first thing that is moved into our new home. LOL. Priorities priorities.
We`ve lived in this house 11 years now.... and its the longest time we have ever lived in one house since before hubby and I were married, and I still lived at home. It feels good to finally put down some roots.
I hope you enjoy many years of happiness Dazzle. I hope you have great neighbours too. :D
