Patsy was brillant in last night's episode
oh my what a episode last night! brilliant acting throughout .....cant until ricky finds out..i hope ricky and bianca get back togeather
I echo everything that has been said already about last nights episode.
The bit that got me was when Bianca mentioned Tiffany, Tony said he hadn't touched her and Bianca said "but you would have". That sent a chill through me.
That is what I felt too... I just kept thinking.. she is right.. if they had married and when Tiffany was only enough... creepy!!
I just don't want this to be all about Lauren.. yeah he was lining her up but nothing happened and Whitney is the one who needs support more than anyone right now
ive got a feeling he might get away with it
I watched it last night on BBC 3.
What a good storyline!
Amazing last night, and I thought Patsy was amazing
yeah it was brilliant, when tony was lying at the start you could see she was doubting him,
before she went up the stairs and overheard the truth, i was shouting at the tv "go up the stairs"
yeah cos if whitney was just being evil and vindictive cos she had a crush on him and lied she wouldnt set it back away to when she was 12, maybe 6 month ago but not 3 yr ago when she was 12
Everything will start to make sense to bianca now - about the way whitney was acting that time when she wouldnt leave her room or talk to anyone
Another thing that drove it home for me how serious this storyline is was when Bianca explained to Whitney that it was RAPE, even though Whitney consented to it, because she was in love with him. Tony committed a very serious crime.
He can't be seen to get away with it. What message would that send out to any youngsters who may be watching and are going through the same thing themselves?
He has got to be punished.
Eastender did a great job with this storyline and I hope we get to see the aftermath, the punishment and tony been brought to justice...
One thing want to ad is that Bianca wasn't very pedagogical about her approach to Whitney. I hope she gets someone in who knows how to speak to victims of child abuse. It was a bit to confronting for my taste.
Brilliant storyline and acting though.
I think Bianca was shocked and just wanted to get it into Whitney head that is was wrong.. I am sure they will have a counceller or someone to help here
yeah bianca had just heard that the man she had planned to marry and spend the rest of her life with had been mentally and emotionally abusing her daughter from the tender age of 12 which in any country is rape, she wanted whitney to get this perfect little idea out of her head about her and tony being in love - He abused her, and the sooner she realises the better.
bianca must be going thru it all too thinking she let a paedophile into her home and allowed him to do that and never noticed anything
another brilliant episode!!! my heart broke for the kids who didnt understand what was going on,
I would like to think that families get more support and advice from the police in these cases than was shown tonight. A police officer should have told Whitney about the consequences of her talking to them and those of not talking to them, in a sensitive manner. Bianca shouting at Whitney is understandable under the circumstances but not helping Whitney who is still in love with Tony and won't yet believe that he never loved her but abused her.
another cracking episode. Eastenders is on top form at the moment. :cheer:
tonights was just as good as tuesdays if not better! great acting all round just like it used to be.
What a performance by Patsy Palmer tonight. I was actually crying during that scene in the living room where she broke down seeing everyone's reaction to her telling them about how she and Tony first met.
little tiff deserves credit too, as does liam, the kids reactions were fantastic, the writers have clearly done a huge amount of research about this topic and are exploring it from all the angles- the inner nucleus of the family, and the shockwaves that it is having on the wider community- ian and phil joining forces for example.
jane was brilliant with lauren, and max didnt go as mental as i thought he would- he was actually shown listening to his daughter for once
i felt sorry for liam when he was sitting on the stairs hearing his mum cryng about how she was a terrible mum and all her kids would be better off in care (or words to that effect) when he was covering his ears.
How old is liam meant to be in the show, since he understands whats happened.
I really kept holding back the tears when Liam was on-screen.. Knowing what was going on and trying to care for his siblings! Amazing stuff once again :)
Phil has got a short memory though. After what happened with Stella and Ben he out of everyone should have realised that Lucas wouldn't necessarily have known there was anything vile about Tony because he worked with him.
If they don't believe that Lucas knew nothing then they must think that Bianca, Pat and Ricky were all covering for him as well.
I think its more because lucas employed an ex con to work with kids - sure he wasnt put away for being a paedophile but he did assault a teen, so working with teens isnt exactly the ideal job.
They are all just being protective parents acting as any parents would have on finding out that about a neighbour.
Libby just started to judge whitney from what i saw, she herself was abused by her father but it wasnt sexually it was physically, she should be more sympathetic
This is typical of soaps though, people have a very short memory concerning their own experiences, hence Phil and Libby reacting the way they did.
But they were all taken in by Tony. They all knew that he was in prison for assaulting someone for trying it on with Whitney. I remember when he was released from prison he was treated like a hero in the Vic and Phil was giving him drinks "on the ouse"!
Knowing he had a criminal record no-one then objected when he started work at the Youth Centre. Tony hoodwinked and deceived the whole community not just the family he was living with.
Well said... I was shouting at Phil when he said to Lucas "I would have spotted something" (or words to that effect), What about Stella, you let her in your home and you hadn't a clue... and to Ian.. he is one to talk too.. his son locks him up and yet he accepts him back just so steven can lock Lucy away.... that is abuse too!!
Patsy again was amazing... I was in tears when she talking to the police after they asked how she met Tony and again when Liam was hugging her..:(
I still think that shouting at Whitney is not a great reaction. She needs to know that her relationship with Tony was not good. But not like this surely. It is like the Stockholm syndrome, where prisoners even can get romantically involved with their kidnappers. And even when they are released stand up for their kidnappers. It all sounds contradictive but that is how our coping mechanism works in these circumstances.
I think it is valuable to base storylines on real issues. Kudos to EE.
I think that is another point the EE are getting across, shouting doesn't help...
We are looking at 2 very heartbroken women.. one who was betrayed when her lover slept with her daughter and the other is been told that her love was wrong in the sickest sense...
Whitney knew she was betraying Bianca and yes it was wrong but finding out that what she thought was real was just one be lie and she was been abused, not loved.. she is still in love with Tony as is Bianca.. it is going to be tough on them both...
poor lucus :crying: :crying:
Fantastic last two episode. I really hope Patsy is nominated for an award this year (instead of the likes of Lacey Turner AGAIN). She has really impressed me and yesterday was heartbreaking to see. Her return has proved an asset to EE so far and I think the young actresses who play Whit and Tiff have proved to be as well.
Phil and Ian are such hyprocrites but I guess it is the mob mentality kicking in and it was good to see Denise cut them down to size with logic.
I totally agree that EE have done a good job on this. Focusing on the impact on ALL the inner family as well like Liam and Tiff.
EE should focus more on other characters and stop using them as fodder for the Branning/Mitchell families. It has been a nice break to have little Branning/Mitchell involvment this past few episodes.
I love eastenders at the moment :cheer: Its great.
Great acting and brillantly done
I watched the Omnibus on sunday at all of it was brilliant. the actting was top notch especially Bianca, she was fab.
And Little Tiffany when she was talking to the social worker! What a cracking little actress.
Friday was Brilliant... how evil did Tony look?? I am glad that Whitney is going to speak up.. she now knows that Tony didn't mean a word of what he said
