Simon Cowell has reportedly decided to feature Will Smith's daughter Willow as a guest judge on the first series of the American X Factor.
The Mirror claims that Cowell wants to create a 'storm of publicity' during the promotional period for the talent competition, and thinks 10-year-old Willow would certainly create buzz for the show.
If selected, Willow would be the youngest-ever judge to appear on any version of The X Factor worldwide.
The schoolgirl reached number 11 on the US charts with her debut single 'Whip My Hair', and this success, along with her "star quality" is what apparently attracted Cowell to the rising star.
A source close to Cowell said: "Simon is determined to make US X Factor a complete triumph and he's going to pull out all the stops to make sure that happens. Willow is big in the States at the moment and Simon knows people will be fascinated to see her take on the competition."
It is said that Cowell called the youngest daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith "amazingly mature for her age" after hearing her interviewed.
US X Factor begins September 2011 on Fox.
MUSIC mogul Simon Cowell will launch Cheryl Cole in America after signing her as a judge on the US X Factor.
He has ended speculation by telling the Girls Aloud beauty she will be on the panel when he takes the show to the States.
Cheryl, 27, was over the moon when he told her the news on Saturday night backstage at the X Factor studios in Wembley, north-west London.
And she will put pen to paper this week on a contract rumoured to be worth £1.5million a year.
Who will join the pair on the panel is still a secret but Simon says he will make an announcement after the final of the UK version of The X Factor next month.
It is a massive boost for Cheryl, who has had a turbulent year following her bitter divorce from Ashley Cole, 29, and a battle with malaria.
Simon, 51, believes Cheryl can be a huge hit with the Yanks and has convinced network executives to let him include her on the show.
But bosses have warned her she needs to come out “all guns blazing” because American audiences will not have a clue who she is.
So Cheryl is planning a major assault on the US.
She will launch her solo music career Stateside after signing a £6m record deal with Universal this summer.
And Simon, who has become one of the most famous men on American TV, will help by taking her on a range of high-ratings chat shows.
One insider said: “At the end of the day, no-one knew who Simon was when he started work on American Idol and look what happened.
“Simon knows the public will absolutely love Cheryl.
“She certainly looks the part and, to be honest, everyone thinks Simon would quite like having a friendly face next to him on the panel.”
Cheryl has already started house hunting with the help of her close pal Derek Hough, 25.
She is planning to make the dancer a member of her team on the show because of his creative skills.
And it helps that he is a firm favourite with TV fans in America having won their version of Strictly Come Dancing three years in a row.
A pal of Cheryl said the news was a dream come true for her.
A friend said: “She couldn’t wipe the smile off her face when Simon told her.
“It suits her down to the ground because it means she can spend half the year in America and half the year in Britain.
“She’s fallen in love with life in Los Angeles, but has always said that her heart belongs to Britain.”
Last night Cheryl’s spokesman said he had no comment about her TV deal. An X Factor spokesman said: “No decision has been made yet.”
Cheryl Cole has been chosen to judge the US version of The X Factor, it has been reported.
Cole is said to have been offered a one-year contract worth £3 million by Fox executives, who were in Britain to watch this weekend's live shows.
A source told The Sun: "She has really charmed the American execs. They love her good looks and the way she wears her heart on her sleeve. And of course her chemistry with Simon [Cowell] played a huge part in it. They are great together."
Bosses at Universal - who Cole signed a record contract with earlier this month - are apparently keen to release Cole's second album Messy Little Raindrops in America to coincide with her role on the US X Factor judging panel.
"When Cheryl goes to America she will also launch her music career there too," an insider told the Daily Mail.
‘"It's the next part of her big plan, she's an incredibly hard worker and she will definitely get a boost by appearing on The X Factor, which is set to be a sure-fire hit."
Last week, Cowell promised that there will be "some surprises" when full details of the US X Factor are eventually announced.
Cheryl Cole’s American dream may be scuppered - as a result of an assault conviction seven years ago.
The Daily Mail told yesterday how Mrs Cole had landed a place on the judging panel of the U.S. version of the X Factor in a deal worth up to £3million.
However, now Mrs Cole’s American dream may be jeopardised by her conviction for assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH) in 2003.
U.S. law states that all convictions - indeed, all arrests - have to be disclosed on visa application forms.
Some less serious offences may not affect work visas.
‘If the conviction is for something that triggers ineligibility the person would have to appeal for a waive,' she said.
Miss McFadden added that her firm had been instructed by the U.S. embassy that with regards to more serious crimes it would depend on ‘facts regarding the conviction' before a decision is made.
However, she said this can lead to 'permanently ineligibility' from being allowed a U.S. work visa in certain cases.

Nicole Scherzinger is to be offered a spot on the judging panel of the US X Factor, according to sources.
The 'Poison' singer has long been linked with a role on the talent show following a successful stint standing in for judge Dannii Minogue on the UK version.
Cheryl Cole's reported deal to join Fox's X Factor appeared to cast doubt on whether there would also be a place for Scherzinger, but it appears that the Pussycat Doll is still wanted by producers.
A source told The Sun: "The US team want both women going up against each other."
The paper also reports that Mariah Carey was being considered for a judge's role, but is now likely to miss out due to her pregnancy.
Scherzinger recently admitted that she would consider an offer to join the show.
So there's going to be 4 acts in the final. What a surprise imagine Mr Cowell using dirty tactics to have Cher-L or One Direction in the final. Rumour is that Matt and Mary may miss the semi due to ill health. Ms Cole and Mr Cowell must be making voodoo dolls.
Simon Cowell has reportedly decided that Dermot O'Leary will not be hosting the US version of X Factor, opting for bland teen coulple Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens to helm the hotly anticipated show.
The move, which is sure to come as a blow to Dermot, is said to be motivated by Cowell not wanting too many Brits on the show. With himself and Cheryl Cole (who signed a deal to star on the show last week) Cowell felt that three British people would be too many.
A source close to Cowell told News Of The World: "He is a fan of Dermot and thinks he's done a good job with the show in the UK.
"But there could only be Simon and an absolute maximum of one other Brit on the show. He wants that Brit to be Cheryl.
"Dermot will be completely distraught. He spent months in America lobbying to get this job. He held out a lot of hope.
"But he can't compete with Zac and Vanessa. They are two of the biggest stars in the States and will make American X Factor the biggest show in the world."
Will Smith and Nicole Scherzinger will reportedly judge the US version of X Factor, reports claim.
The actor and rapper is said to have been signed by Simon Cowell along with the former Pussycat Doll and Cheryl Cole as the show's "core" judges, The People reports.
A fifth guest judge will also appear each week, with Mariah Carey, Jon Bon Jovi, Zac Efron and George Michael rumoured to be filling the slots.
A source said: "Simon wants to keep it fresh and have a different judge every week. He's over the moon with his three core judges, and himself of course.
"But he wants some big names to do guest appearances. He has spoken to several stars and they have bitten his hand off to appear."
It was recently claimed that Smith's 10-year-old daughter Willow - who is on course to top the UK singles chart this Sunday - will also feature as a guest on the judging panel.
SIMON COWELL really means business in his quest for new judges on American X Factor.
He has already tapped up ROLLING STONES lord MICK JAGGER and is now after NOEL GALLAGHER.
The ex-OASIS guitarist got a call last week with news of interest from bosses on X Factor USA.
Simon wants a huge name and securing the Manc's sharp-tongued services for next year's show would be a coup. X Factor fan Noel is mulling over the offer.
A source said: "Simon wants to go one better than American Idol, who have AEROSMITH frontman STEVE TYLER, and has set his heart on British rock 'n' roll royalty - with Noel and Mick top of his shopping list.
"Noel's manager met up for early talks and there is serious wedge on offer."
"Simon is a huge fan of Noel's songwriting and the no-nonsense attitude Oasis brought to Britpop in the Nineties. He'd be great to dish out feedback."
Feedback? It would be more like character assassinations for those inflated Yank egos.
Noel would be ideal but what would be his motivation? He has a young family and a mountain of solo material stored up for the grown-up stage of his career.
He has twice been asked for permission for an Oasis night on The X Factor and refused because the band - who had a No1 with The Importance Of Being Idle - were still on the road.
But he made a rumoured £50,000 when former X Factor winner LEONA LEWIS wrapped her lungs around their Stop Crying Your Heart Out for her second album Echo last year.
Now brother LIAM is busy with new band BEADY EYE and fashion label Pretty Green, the time may be right for Noel. Imagine WAGNER singing Vondervall? Priceless.
Meanwhile, MATT CARDLE won this year's X Factor but yesterday fellow finalists REBECCA FERGUSON and ONE DIRECTION were each promised record deals by Simon.
His plan for Rebecca is to one day get her on Bond theme duties. She definitely has the pipes. And he has vowed to make One Direction stars, too.
