Thicker Than Water: Devon Seas Mini Series

EXT. DEVON FOREST/CLIFFTOP (2001)

Jared is chasing after Karen, the pair of them battling their way trough overgrown bushes and weeds. Karen is beginning to breath heavily, in panic of Jared catching up with her.

Jared: Karen! Just wait will you!

Karen pushes her way trough the final bush, but trips over a tree root. She lands on her knees, half hanging off a cliff. A small cliff overlooking Torbay, below is a pile of jaged rocks, and the tide is beginning to come in.

Karen breaths heavily in panic, she gets up and is standing close to the edge. Jared makes it to the clifftop from the forest, he stands opposite Karen.

Jared: Look Karen! I'm not going to hurt you! You're safe! Okay!... Just move away from the cliff!

Karen steps away from the Cliff, looking down at the fall below, she continues to panic.

Karen: Please Jared...go away...don't hurt me...

Jared: Why would I hurt you!? I love you!

Karen: You've got a funny way of showing it! Chasing me to my death!

Jared: I just don't want you making any rash decisons! You can't cut me out of the family buisness like that!

Karen: Oh family buisness is it now? I thought it was just "yours"... dont you dare use the "family" to blackmail me... I'm not scared to cut you out of the buisness! It's no more than you deserve!

Jared: But I've worked so hard for all this Karen! 40 years of hard graft! Please...just reconsider!

Karen: You're not going to change my mind Jared! I've made my decisons... I want you out of my life... I want a divorce!

Jared: Now you're just being ridiculous Karen! You can't just throw away 40 years of marriage like this!

Jared gets closer to Karen, she steps backwarsds, nearer to the cliff edge, small peices rubble begins to fall from the cliff.

Karen: Like you give a toss about the marriage! If it was so important to you, you'd have bloody kept faithful to me! But that was too much to ask! Typical male!

Jared: Karen! Get away from that cliff edge! You're not doing anyone any favours here! Dont be such a fool.

Jared walks close to Karen, he grabs her arm to pull her towards him, but the heel of her shoe snaps, she is caught off balance and falls backwards, she begins to scream, Jared is holding on to her one arm, trying to pull her back up.

Karen: Jared! Help me! Please!

Jared begins to breath heavily. Panicking at the situation infront of him.

Jared: Not a penny eh!?...

Jared let's go of Karen, she screams as she falls off the cliff, plumiting to the bottom, landing on the jaged rocks.

Jared:...We'll see about that...

Jared walks up close to the cliff edge, and looks down cooly, at the sight of Karen lying on the jagged rocks. He straightens his tie, and walks away.

OH MY GOD!!! :eek::eek:

How can he do that, the evil *******... he better get what is coming to him and I don't mean the money

INT. BELLAMY HOUSE (2001)

Olivia and Will are alseep. Olivia stirs, and quietly gets out of bed. She looks on at Will sleeping with a smile. She puts on her clothes and kisses him goodbye, as Will stirs.

Will: You off babe?

Olivia: Yeah...figured I'd best evacuate the war zone before your parnets get back...

Will: You don't have to you know...

Olivia: It's best...I'll see you soon babes.

Olivia kisses Will and leaves the room. As Olivia is crossing the coridoor to go downstairs, she comes across Lauren, who has seen her leave Will's room.

Lauren: I suppose your "Olivia"?

Olivia: Look, I don't want no trouble..I'm leaving...

Lauren: Yeah, you'd better, and if you know what's best you'l not dare show your face around here again okay!?

Olivia: I will not be told to by no one, if I want to come here...then I will... bye for now..

Olivia walks down the stairs with a smug look on her face. An infuriated Lauren charges towards Will's room and storms in as he is getting out of bed, no clothes on.

Will: Lauren! Christ! Haven't you heard of knocking!

Lauren: Get some clothes on, I want a word!

Will grabs a dressing gown from the hook on the door and puts it on. He folds his arms and listens to what Lauren has to say.

Will: Well!?

Lauren: What was "she" doing your room just?

Will: Well I'd say that's kind of obvious...

Lauren grabs an empty champoagne bottle and throws it at the wall, narrowly missing Will.

Will: Jesus Christ!

Lauren: Dont patronise me Will!

Will: What is your problem!?

Lauren: My problem is that gold digging cow! She's already ruined two good marraiges in this family! I don't want to see her taking advantage of you aswell!

Will: She isn't taking advantage of me! She isn't like that!... She's a good hearted woman!

Lauren: (Laughs to self) I see she's already got you under her spell. For Christ's sake Will, you're such a bloody push over, why are you so blind to see it!?

Will: Who I sleep with is nothing to do with you, let me make my own choices and decisons!

Lauren: When it's affecting my family it has EVERYTHING to do with me...I'm warning you Will, if I see you around her again there will be Hell to pay!

With this strong words Lauren exits the room, leaving Will to dwell on the words that his sister has just given him.

EXT. DEVON FOREST/CLIFFTOP (2001)

Jared rushes away from the scene of the crime, having pushed Karen down onto the jagged rocks. He rushes back to her car and runs his hand trough his hair as he tries to formulate a plan.

He gets into her car and starts up the engine, after a few failed attempts, he puts his foot down and speeds the car trough the forest, as the bay comes into sight he slams the breaks and turns off the engine.

Jared gets out of the car. He takes off his jacket and throws it onto the backseats of the car. He rolls up his sleeves and breaths heavily. He then gets behind the car and begins to push it.

After a lot of effort the car begins to move, until it has fell off the cliff. The car splashes into the water with great intesnity, Jared watches as the car goes underwater.

Jared then makes his way down the hidden pathway to the beach at the bottom of the cliff. The tide has begin to come in, so he carefully walks across the rocks to avoid getting wet. He walks over to Karen's motionless body.

He gets down on his knees and holds her body in his hands. He begins to cry to himself, as he kisses his wife on the lips.

Jared: I'm sorry Karen...but it was the only way... you have to understand...it was the only way...

Jared takes the wedding ring off her finger and puts it in his pocket.

Jared: Goodbye my sweet...

Jared kisses her once more, and steps away from the body. He walks off down the beach, crying as he goes.

We see a close up of Karen's face. One of her eyelids opens slightly, she smiles to herself in satisfaction, then closes her eyes once more...

END OF PART 3

Oh my god!! What a brilliant Part 3!! I can't believe Jared pushed Karen off the cliff, he is so evil! I never expected the end either...is Karen really still alive?! Can't wait to read more!

Oh jared is so busted I hope she takes him for every penny he's got and leaves him and his little scrubber Olivia on the streets

PART FOUR - A MARRAIGE OF CONVINIANCE?

EXT. DEVON FOREST/CLIFFTOP (2002)

The viewers see a series of short and sharp flashbacks of the events at the clifftop between Jared and Karen.

Jared is standing on the exact spot where Karen was pushed, a year on. All is silent; then all of a sudden someone puts their hand on Jared's shoulder.

Jared: Oh my god!...

Jared jumps out of his skin and turns around to see who it is.

Jared: ... Olivia... you scared the life out of me.

Olivia is standing beside Jared, as usual she is dressed in a glamrous dress.

Olivia: I thought I'd come and see where you'd got to... we're all worried about you, you know..

Jared: Yeah well I needed some time alone, do some thinking, you know?

Olivia: Granted...it's a year since you know... the police found the car... but this wont do you any good threating over it...

Jared: I was married to her for 40 years Olivia! The woman I loved... she disapears... and they cant even find a body! Do you know what that is like!? Not being able to bury him! Not fully knowing if she's still out there somewhere...

Olivia: I'm not denying that you loved the woman, that's kind of obvious... but reliving it everday of your life isn't healthy Jared... you need to move on...

Jared: It isn't easy tough Olivia, so many things remind me of her... smells of her perfume, her favourite songs played on the radio...and the kids... the biggest memory of all, it's just so hard...

Olivia wraps her arms around Jared in her arms, he starts to sob.

Jared: I miss her Olivia! I miss her so much!

Olivia: Time is a great healer Jared... you'll something...or someone to help you move on...

Jared: Like who!?

Olivia: I've always felt guilty about what happened, as it was a result of you and me... but I've stuck around for a reason... becuase you are a good man Jared... a caring man... I want to help you get trough this... I know if we work hard you will become the man you once was...

Jared: Thank you Olivia, I don't know how lucky I am sometimes...

Olivia: No... I'm the lucky one...to have a man like you in my life...

Jared steps away from Olivia, he looks into her eyes and moves in for a kiss, Olivia responds and the pair kiss tenderly. Jared then holds her in his arms, he rests his head on her shoulder. Olivia smiles to herself in satisfaction.
