I was waiting outside my PE class at 11 o clock and I missed it! :( :( but I did wear a poppy all day.
MY name's turned blue wWOOOOOOOOOO! lol I'm so happy...it took ages to get 1000 posts! :cheer:
we had ours and this year everyone was really quiet because a girl in our year group died at the begining of september so everyone was really quiet and she was one of my closest friends too and we know that its ment to be people that died in the wars but its still rememberance really.

Congrats Jemma on turning Blue xx
I agree its really disrespectful to talk over it-its only 2 minutes! I remeber at teh end of teh day on July 7th this year the headtecher at our school did a tannoy and said we were going to do a minutes silence in respevct to the peope, atht died and i couldnt even hear her talking because people were just chattin and being noisy like they normally do and taht REALLY made me angry becaus it was only one minute to be silent and people had actually died that day!
Thanks di marco and Spicy :)
well at least your schools had the silence, my school didnt, i was well annoyed by that! but at least i made sure i was quiet at 11
it makes me mad too!!! its a total lack of respect. i was on my own in my shop so i had the radio on and did the silence on my own!!
we were on break at school and i made sure i kept looking at my phone to see when it was 11 and made sure i stopped talking for 2 minutes, no one else did though
we done it at my school but done it from 2 minutes to 11 to 11 as our break starts at 11
our break is 10 to til 10 past 11, i wasnt surprised that we didnt do it really cos it was our breaktime and they couldnt be bothered to do it last year and we were in lessons then!
we had one at the end of geography, and people didn't talk- but they were eating  i know we were missing break but they didn't need to  and someone snatched my poppy in the corridor aswell
they were only missing 2 minutes! and someone who sits on my biology table said he didnt have a poppy cos he couldnt afford one even though he goes to the shop at lunchtimes and buys muffins and stuff!Quote:

Our break starts at 11am.

It is lovely to see that atleast you guys on here have respect.I understand that to some it was years ago. But there are alot of people that lost their dads, uncle ,brother, husband, and ofcourse all the non army folk that died in air raids in two main world wars.I had lots of people ask me what the poppy was for,So many people dont know. :searchme:Quote:

I know that he's only 11 months, but I wan him to know about all the sacrifices those men and woman made all those years ago, and still continue to make nowadays.
ours is at 10:50 to 11:10Quote:
