That's better. What a sweetie, Dazzle. She must take after you.
Both mum and baby are gorgeous!!! Thank you Dazzle :D
I'm so tired!
My daughter and newborn granddaughter are staying with me for a few days and we haven't had much sleep at all. The little rascal doesn't like going down in her cot lol. :D
I've just about been keeping up with the soaps but little time for discussion at the moment. My world revolves around feeding the baby, changing dirty nappies and sleeping at the moment. I'm loving it!!
Yeahh!!! This time will fly by and you will treasure the memories :D xx
Off sick with flu today and the phone has not stopped ringing with recorded sales stuff. I have never really noticed it being so bad before but in one hour i got up 4 times to answer calls. Then a sales guy just rang. i must look into what i can do to get rid of these calls. Its a nightmare!
I am sure I read somewhere where you can apply a code to stop cold callers???
Cold callers!
You can register with the Telephone Preference Service which will supposedly stop most cold callers, but I've heard it doesn't always work.
If nothing else works you can get a little call blocker device like these. I no longer have a landline and I can block numbers on my mobile, but I'd definitely get a call blocking device if I still had a landline. I've heard good things about them but haven't tried one myself.
Get well soon, Swmc! :)
Always amazes me how they get hold of your number, I had to get a new mobile as I lost my old one, so new number, no big deal, only had contact with a handful of people here which were quickly informed of new number. Yet I get calls from strange numbers but when I ask if the caller speaks English, they say NO so I immediately say end the call but do wonder how they got hold of my number
As I understand quite a few landline numbers are sold on by companies from whom purchases may have been made online . If I've disclosed say a email address I won't disclose a landline number, use a moblle number or make up a landline number . If you need to be contacted let a company email.
Wish that would be outlawed!!! Should remain private!!
Agree Dazzle , but may be easier to control mobile incoming , and emails. The landline contact late at night and early hours hard to control and a bigger nuisance . Also, sometimes those obscure little tick boxes requesting no details to be passed on when placing internet orders very easy to miss.
Deliberately so, and I've noticed that some companies even obfuscate things further by making it so that you need to tick one box and leave another empty if you don't want to be contacted. It's so sneaky!! :thumbsdow
Selling on people's personal details is big business these days. :wall:
I've just received 10 advance copies of my book. Yay!!!:D:cheer:
There you go, Sarah:

Is it not on Kindle? Or am I not looking properly?
I believe it is going to be released for Kindle in April.
Hi Parkerman
You may know this but just in case you don't ...Hackney Museum have Hackney@50 exhibition. Fifty objects and fifty stories going back 50 years in Hackney. I went to its opening this evening. Only for an hour though as I am not very good with museums! My friend has displayed a very posh tiffin from India. Her father had a clothes factory in Hackney which closed down in early nineties I think. He has recently passed away so she has donated to various museums in London.

Thanks, sw, I didn't know about the exhibition. All a bit modern for me! I left Hackney 50 years ago, so my book deals with the period before that.
But it sounds like a very interesting exhibition. Do you know how long it's on for as I'd quite like to go and see it? And I am quite good with Museums....which is just as well as I worked at The British Museum for 37 years!

Up to 29th August but if you are coming from far away it may not be worth it. I know you keep telling me you have moved from Hackney but i still keep placing you there.
Yes, I live in Clacton-on-Sea now. Not too far away. And I will be coming up to Hackney several times I expect when the book comes out.
Clever I never thought of that!
My granddaughter, Indigo, is a month old already!
If anyone wants to be reminded, here's what she looked like as a newborn.
This is what she looked like yesterday:
