Chas Dingle to stab Diane Sugden in shock scenes
Chas's fear leaves Diane in peril next week.

Life at The Woolpack will take a very dark turn on Emmerdale next week as Chas Dingle accidentally stabs her friend Diane Sugden.
Chas will make the shocking move in the heat of the moment when she thinks that her stalker has broken into the pub to kill her.
The terrified landlady has convinced herself that she is being stalked by her enemy Emma Barton, but viewers have seen that Chas herself is responsible for the strange goings-on as she's been sleepwalking at the pub.
Still unaware of the reality behind the spooky situation, Chas is left fearful again next week when Emma returns to the village after a few days away.
Emma's presence sends Chas's paranoia into overdrive, especially when she wakes up one morning to find a large kitchen knife placed next to her bed.

Aaron is upset to see Chas overreact
Lucy Pargeter, who plays Chas, revealed: "Chas has decided she's being stalked by Emma. Emma has always been a bit of a strange character anyway, but there's an extra insecurity there due to her relationship with James. Emma keeps thinking that James is going to reunite with Chas, even though Chas has got no interest in James at all anymore.
"When Chas finds the knife by her bed, she thinks it's definitely a message from Emma that she's going to have to watch her back. Chas thinks her life is in danger and she completely freaks out.
"Afterwards, Aaron and Cain both offer to do a stake-out at Emma's house, which does reassure Chas. Cain has really stepped up as head of the Dingles recently and his brother-sister relationship with Chas is really flowering."
Unfortunately, Chas's new-found relief doesn't last for long as she wakes up that night to hear a disturbance from downstairs. Diane is responsible for the noise as she is arriving home a little worse for wear after a night out.
Pargeter continued: "When Chas hears the noise, she thinks Emma has come to get her and she might lose her life. She takes the knife with her to defend herself and I think instinct just kicks in.
"What happens isn't self-defence, but it's fuelled by everything that's happened. Chas reacts in the worst way possible and just lunges forward. She doesn't know who's there, but she thinks it's either them or her and stabs Diane.
"It's complete panic afterwards and Chas doesn't believe that she could have done it. She runs away from the situation - it's a 'fight or flight' thing - but Cain goes after her. I think she needs professional help now, really. It's gone beyond the help that Aaron and Cain can give her."
Emmerdale fans will see Diane pull through after being rushed to hospital for emergency surgery, but there could be more trouble to come when she later receives some shocking news from the doctors.
Chas also has a long journey ahead as it's already been revealed that her ex-husband Gordon will soon be returning to the village, played by actor Gary Mavers.
Speaking about what's ahead, Pargeter added: "I really do hope that Chas and Diane can get their friendship back on track. They work great as a team and I love working with Liz.
"Chas has let Diane down quite a lot in the past and she's been so forgiving over the years. Whether this will be the final straw that makes Diane think they can't be friends anymore, I don't know! They always have their fallings out, but then they come back together again, so fingers crossed.
"I'm really enjoying the storylines at the moment, but I'm absolutely shattered to be quite honest with you. It's been absolute non-stop, as we've had long days and night shoots.
"I've also been moving house and renovating, so my personal life has been crazy as well. Normally you can leave work, go home and relax but everything's been crazy for a couple of months. I'm looking forward to taking on the next challenge, but hopefully in more relaxed surroundings at home!"
Emmerdale airs Diane's stabbing on Wednesday, November 25 at 7pm on ITV.

Emmerdale spoilers: Chas to be diagnosed with PTSD after stabbing Diane
The news will cause tensions between Doug and the Dingles.
By Daniel Kilkelly, Digital Spy
24 November 2015
Emmerdale will delve deeper into Chas Dingle's problems next week as she is diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Chas has been struggling badly ever since she witnessed Robert Sugden being shot in the village at the end of September.
The pub landlady has even convinced herself that she is being stalked following a series of strange events in her home, unaware that she has been committing the acts herself while sleepwalking.
The tense storyline comes to a head this fortnight as Chas becomes so terrified at The Woolpack that she accidentally stabs her friend Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen).
In the aftermath, Chas flees from the pub in terror and ends up disorientated in the woods - seeing strange visions of Robert as well as hearing noises of gunshots and voices.
The experience is so frightening for Chas that she trips and falls unconscious, but the ordeal leads to her finally getting the help she needs when a doctor later diagnoses her with PTSD.
Lucy Pargeter, who plays Chas, revealed: "Chas doubts the diagnosis initially - I think many people do. It's mentioned to her by Aaron after all the wood stuff happens. He has an inkling that this is what she might be suffering from.
"Many people think it's only soldiers who might get PTSD, but it can happen to anybody. It's triggered by a traumatic event - like the diagnosis of an illness, the witnessing of a car crash, or being in a crash.
"It can have so many different triggers and it doesn't necessarily happen straight away. It's taken a while - and Chas has had quite a lot of bad things happen to her!"
Pargeter explained that Chas's issues date back to her previous ordeal with serial killer Cameron Murray, who was killed after a horrifying siege at the pub in 2013.
"I think it's nice for the show to say that these things don't always just go away, and that the repercussions can happen a couple of years after the event," she said.
"We've worked really closely with Mind, who have been quite happy for it to be a female character that isn't a soldier. We've been working with them on the symptoms and how it can manifest, so hopefully we have done it justice.
"Not every case is the same. There are loads of different triggers and it can manifest itself in different ways. The sleepwalking was quite interesting to discover, as it does cause sleeplessness. We then tied it in with the Emma stuff, so it's been nice to see it weaving its way through."
Chas's diagnosis will initially cause fireworks in the village, as Doug Potts wonders whether it's all a Dingle con to get her off the hook for stabbing Diane. Aaron, Cain and Zak all angrily jump to Chas's defence, and Doug is forced to sheepishly back down when the reality of the situation becomes clear.
On Chas being chosen for the plot, Pargeter joked: "I am extremely surprised that the whole village hasn't been diagnosed with it at some point. But that's what I mean - we have so many things happening in this village, so it's nice to see this.
"We had a serial killer who killed three people before getting his comeuppance - finally we are doing something about it. We're finally showing the audience that you can't go through all this stuff without having some consequence."

Lucy Pargeter talks about Gordon Livesy returning to Emmerdale
How would Chas react if she knew that Diane had bumped into her ex-husband Gordon?
She'd be very shocked about it because Gordon has been out of her and Aaron's lives for quite a few years now. Chas and Gordon didn't part on good terms, and ever since then she's had to work very hard with Aaron to make up for all the time she was out of his life when he was a kid. Gordon coming back now might turn everything upside down.
Can you see a chance for Chas and Gordon to make another go of things? Is there a spark?
Well, it's that thing about your first love: they'll probably always have that connection, and of course they have Aaron together. But Chas is in a very fragile state these days, so I don't think she'll be willing to jump back into another relationship with anyone.

Fortnight ending 18 December 2015
I never thought Chas felt that strongly for Gordon, always thought Carl was her real first love
For the very few episodes we actually saw
Chas & Gordon together years ago - I would
agree with your opinion
But we are in Soap Kingdom of Retcon!
When the actors give these interviews -
they usually seem to have been primed
by producer to create a bit more drama!
I'm actually loving this storyline, yes it may be a bit out there with some scenes (like the Robert hallucinations last night) but I feel that makes us manage to relate to Chas more, whereas if we couldn't see the hallucinations we may not be able to sympathise as much.
I like it too. Think it has been done really well. feel so sorry for Chas and Lucy has done a great Job. And actually for the first time in a while Aaron was great. I like him but the stuff he has been given lately hasn't done him any good. This storyline has been great for him and look forward to seeing what's next
Emmerdale's Chas Dingle will make a risky decision in the New Year when she decides to rekindle her relationship with her ex-husband Gordon Livesy.
Chas gives into temptation after Gordon returns to the village for the first time in years, but she chooses to keep their son Aaron in the dark over their reignited romance.
Now played by former Peak Practice actor Gary Mavers, Gordon arrives back on screen next week when Diane Sugden has a chance meeting with him while having chemotherapy.
Gordon is also at the hospital as he has been battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma. While catching up with Diane, he is surprised to hear just how much Chas and Aaron have been struggling recently and decides to reach out to them.
Unsurprisingly, Gordon gets a frosty reception from Aaron, but he does make enough progress with Chas to be invited to the Dingle family's Christmas lunch.
Things go a step further at New Year as Chas surprises herself by kissing Gordon, but she knows that there'd be fireworks if Aaron ever found out.
Lucy Pargeter, who plays Chas, explained: "It's rekindling that old flame. It's that first love thing - they'll always have a connection and they've got Aaron together as well. It's a chemical connection. I don't think Chas is willing to jump back into another relationship, but there is that magnetism that is pulling them together.
"But because of Aaron's bad reaction to Gordon turning up, Chas does it in secret even though she keeps saying she won't have any more secrets. Here's another one!"

Reminding us of their history, Pargeter continued: "At first Chas is quite shocked to see Gordon, to be honest. He's been out of Aaron's life for quite a few years. Chas and Gordon didn't part on good terms. The last time we saw them together, Chas had given Aaron a wallop round the head. Gordon had come back and rescued his son and said, 'You're never seeing him again'.
"So Chas is surprised to see Gordon, but he tries to convince her that he needs to make up for lost time. That's like Chas was - she had to work hard with Aaron and make up for all the time they had lost. So she's very open to Gordon coming back.
"I think because of her own history with Aaron, she just tries to convince him to give Gordon another chance. She was like that with him, but he gave her another chance and look at them now. She just wants to see Aaron happy, but he doesn't react well.
"It's always nice to see old characters brought back. I'm always interested in people's history and a massive chunk of both Chas and Aaron's history is Gordon. So it's amazing to see and discover what actually went on. I'm really happy that he's here."
Emmerdale airs Chas and Gordon's kiss on New Year's Day at 7pm on ITV.
She needs to get better not jump into another fail relationship again
So true x
Is Chas all cured now, no more follow up with therapy sessions or with a doctor, no more mention of her episodes which lead to Diane's stabbing which is bad writing on what was a good storyline
Chas asks Robert for a favour
We never thought that we’d see the day where Chas Dingle would be calling on Robert Sugden for a favour. But in the wake of the admission from Aaron Livesy that he was abused as a child by his dad Gordon, the pair are set to find themselves awkwardly united for a similar cause.
Despite Chas’ misgivings about Robert’s suitability for Aaron, she will soon be forced to concede that he is indeed on her son’s side and will surprise him with an unexpected request for a very big favour indeed.
But what is it that she wants from him?
Aaron has taken some time away from the village following threats from Gordon but both Chas and Robert remain determined to fight for justice on his behalf. And Chas is left thoughtful and questioning her own judgement of Robert when he urges her to keep pressing on after the police admit they have had no luck in tracking down Gordon’s ex wife, Sandra.
With Robert’s offer of help logged away in her mind, she is convinced to keep up the fight and seeks Cain’s help in looking through Aaron’s old school reports for anything that could prove useful.
Later, Robert is taken aback when Chas turns to him and has a very big ask of him. But how will he respond – and will he finally be able to prove to her that they are both in this together for Aaron?
Emmerdale's Chas Dingle turns vigilante next week, as she decides to dish out her own ruthless punishment to rapist Gordon.
Chas (Lucy Pargeter) is driven to desperate measures when she starts to fear that her troubled son Aaron will never get justice for what Gordon did to him.
Angered by the lack of progress in the case since Aaron reported Gordon, a determined Chas heads over to her ex-husband's house in a rage.
Chas clearly has revenge in mind as she clutches a can of spray paint and bangs at the door, shouting at Gordon to come out before she lets his neighbours know what he really is.
When Gordon fails to respond to her, Chas starts furiously spraying his car with paint - publicly branding him a paedophile.
While Chas's anger is clearly justified, Aaron's ex-boyfriend Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) soon arrives on the scene and fiercely accuses her of making things ten times worse.

Robert and Chas are seen by witnesses
Robert reminds Chas that they need to act smart if they stand any chance of getting Gordon behind bars, so he orders her to stay away from now on.
Chas's antics later earn her a police warning when officers come calling at The Woolpack to punish her, but it's Aaron's reaction that hurts her the most when he arrives back from his break.
Heartbroken to discover that Chas has revealed his secret to all, Aaron feels betrayed by his mum and orders her to take back what she said by insisting that it didn't happen. Can Robert convince Aaron that it's too risky to backtrack now?

Lucy Pargeter on Danny Miller, the return of Chas's PTSD and her new Emmerdale love interest
The actress, who is nominated at this year's British Soap Awards, reveals all about life in the village
You take your life in your hands when you live in Emmerdale. Helicopters can fall out of the sky at any minute. Pubs explode at a second’s notice. But even by Chas Dingle’s high standards (she was famously, of course held hostage in the Woolpack Siege of 2013) it’s been an eventful 12 months. She was on the scene when Robert was shot, suffered with PTSD, knifed Diane and supported her son Aaron when she found out he’d been sexually abused as a child by his own father.
“Honestly, the things that get thrown at us. You’d move out of that village, wouldn’t you?” says Lucy Pargeter. “Thank God it’s just pretend. To be honest, I’m surprised Chas isn’t barricaded in at the Woolpack with 14 crates of wine on an intravenous drip. But it’s brilliant. It’s such a privilege to have this constant barrage of insanity handed to you.”
Pargeter’s reward for portraying Chas’s trauma is a nomination for Best Actress at this year’s British Soap Awards. Yet despite making the shortlist, she isn’t letting the acclaim go to her head. “I do think, ‘why me?’. Especially when I’m so in awe of the people I work with. So I am surprised. I just think that I’ve been supporting Danny Miller throughout Aaron’s storyline, really.”
But come on, I protest. What about the psychosis that Chas suffered? The breakdown in the woods? It’s not every day you get a knife-wielding pub landlady in a small Yorkshire idyll. “Yes, but the storylines come and go so quickly. And you end up forgetting. We do sometimes find that we can’t remember it all, just because of the amount of stuff that we’ve done. And I think the viewers do too.”
One particular scene that lingers long in the memory though is Aaron revealing the full details to Chas about Gordon’s predatory abuse. In all seriousness, it’s a moment that you instinctively know will feature a lot during awards season, such is the raw power of Miller and Pargeter’s performances. So it comes as quite a surprise to hear that they actually had to film it twice:
“We wanted to do it just the once because it was so harrowing. But the problem was that the stage directions said that Chas didn’t move over to Aaron until the very end of the scene. And after we’d filmed it, our director Mike Lacey asked why she hadn’t consoled Aaron earlier.
“There was Danny having this meltdown, but I felt like I had to honour the stage direction and stay seated, even though, as a mother, you’d have moved over as soon as he started talking. So we did do it again, which I felt absolutely awful about. But it worked much better the second time around.”
As for the future, it’s interesting to discover that Chas’s diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder is to be revisited, a rarity on soaps where the reset button can be pressed on a character all too quickly. “It’s good that it’s being mentioned again,”
Pargeter agrees. “In real life, these things don’t go away. And it did feel that, once she’d been diagnosed, it wasn’t being flagged up in the script as much as it could have been. Up until Gordon’s trial, you didn’t get the impression that she was getting treatment or that her suffering was still going on. Also, it does give me a bit more time in work!”
That ready laugh comes again, something I also hear when we get on to the topic of Chas’s love life. Recent reports suggested that a new romance was in the offing, but even Pargeter isn’t 100 per cent when it’s happening or who it’ll be with:
“It’s wicked whispers! I heard from somebody who’d got wind from somebody else,” she tries to explain, but I quickly lose the thread, “anyway, we don’t know if it’s true. I haven’t heard it from our producer’s mouth, but I’d be very happy if it happened.”
As for life away from Emmerdale, I remember that the last time we spoke, Pargeter was in the middle of some momentous house renovation that was taking up every spare minute she had away from the ITV Studios in Leeds. Even if Chas’s existence hasn’t become any less dramatic, surely Pargeter has now found some peace at home?
“It’s not finished, but we’re in! We moved a week before Christmas. But there’s still work to be done. But it’s good to have something so major happening outside of work, even if it means that you’re on the phone to builders or suppliers. I do strive on stress.”
Which is very fortunate, really. Portraying Chas’s whirlwind life, it’s not like she exactly has much of a choice!

Chas Dingle's Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) storyline will be revisited on Emmerdale.
Lucy Pargeter, who plays Chas Dingle on the ITV soap, revealed that the programme would return to the storyline that first emerged last year.
"It's good that it's being mentioned again," Pargeter told Radio Times. "In real life, these things don't go away.
"And it did feel that, once she'd been diagnosed, it wasn't being flagged up in the script as much as it could have been.
"Up until Gordon's trial, you didn't get the impression that she was getting treatment or that her suffering was still going on. Also, it does give me a bit more time in work!"
Chas's PTSD diagnosis was revealed towards the end of 2015. It was triggered by Robert Sugden's shooting and years of pent-up stress.

The actress, who plays Chastity Dingle in the ITV soap, already has an 11-year-old daughter with her partner Rudi Coleano.
A spokeswoman for the show said: "Lucy Pargeter and her partner Rudi Coleano are delighted to announce they are expecting twins spring 2017.
"They will be long-awaited siblings for their daughter, Lola."
Pargeter, 39, has appeared in Emmerdale since 2002 and competed in I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! in 2013, a series which was won by singer Kian Egan.

Congratulations Lucy :)
Guess they will have to write her out then for a while ...

No that's not good news I wanted some one new it's john all over again bloodily writers
Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter has revealed how her character Chas Dingle will be written out of the show.
The popular actress is taking time out from the Dales following the happy news that she's pregnant with twin girls.
Lucy's real-life joy means that Chas will be heading out of the village for a while and she'll be taking Liv Flaherty with her, as young actress Isobel Steele is doing her GCSEs this year.
This also means that Chas and Liv won't be around when Aaron Dingle finally gets released from prison in a few weeks' time.
Lucy explained: "Chas receives news from Liv's mum Sandra, who's had an accident over in Ireland.
"Chas is Liv's 'acting mother' while Aaron is in prison, so she decides to go to Ireland and takes Liv over to see her mum.
"It'll be me gone from the show for a while - but not too long! I'll be back soon."
Just before Chas goes, Emmerdale fans can look forward to an emotional heart-to-heart, as she finally gets a chance to rebuild her relationship with her mum Faith.
Debbie Dingle is responsible for getting the pair together when she tricks them into spending time in each other's company at Butler's Farm.

Chas and Faith pull no punches as they discuss the past, but just when it looks like they've finally made up, Faith suddenly pulls away when her daughter tries to hug her.
As Chas feels rejected once again, why did Faith pull away and is there any chance they can properly reconcile?
Lucy added: "Chas and Faith's relationship hasn't been good, really. They've been at loggerheads and Chas is determined that she isn't going to make things up with Faith. She'd much rather Faith went back to wherever she came from, even though everyone else is warming to her now.
"But next week, Debbie invites Chas up for lunch at the farm and she promises that Faith won't be there. Chas goes up with food and wine, thinking that they're going to have a lovely afternoon. On entering the farm, there Faith is!
"Debbie doesn't give them much of an opportunity to go anywhere. She forces them to sit down and have a chat."
Explaining why Chas is still so annoyed with Faith, Lucy added: "Everything stems from Chas's upbringing. Faith left them with Shadrach and disappeared, and I don't think her parenting skills were particularly brilliant when she was around!
"Unfortunately Chas also holds resentment towards Faith for things that aren't necessarily her fault. She pins all the mistakes that she's made with Aaron on Faith too, because she hasn't had anyone to show her how to be a good parent."

Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter has given birth to twin girls.
The star, who has been in the ITV soap for 15 years, welcomed the new arrivals last week with her partner Rudi Coleano.
The couple already have an 11-year-old daughter, Lola.
"Lucy Pargeter and Rudi Coleano are delighted to announce the birth of their twin girls who were born on Thursday April 13," an Emmerdale spokeswoman said.
"All are happy and healthy and Lola is delighted to have finally become a big sister."
Pargeter, 40, plays Chastity Dingle, who has been temporarily written out of the Yorkshire Dales-set show while she is on maternity leave.
Chas has been taking care of Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele), her son Aaron's (Danny Miller) half-sister while he is in prison as her mother lives in Ireland.
She decided to take Liv to see her mother after she had an accident.
Pargeter said recently: "It'll be me gone for a while, but not too long, depending. I'll be back very soon.
"Fictionally, I'm in Ireland, having a lovely summer."

Emmerdale will be revisiting Paddy Kirk's relationship with Chas Dingle when she returns to the village later this year.
Chas is currently living away from the Dales, after Lucy Pargeter – who plays her – went on maternity leave, having given birth to twin girls.
However, producer Iain MacLeod has confirmed that the show will continue to explore Paddy and Chas's story as he decides to make a go of things with her upon her comeback.
Fans will remember that Chas and Paddy briefly attempted to rekindle their spark earlier in the year, but their relationship never really took off prior to her exit.
Since then, Paddy has been a pillar of support to his ex-wife Rhona Goskirk – who has faced a harrowing time after being raped by her husband Pierce Harris.
But even though Paddy will lay his heart on the line with Rhona next week, it doesn't look like a reunion between the former couple is on the cards as he'll be hoping to pick up where he left off with Chas when he sees her again.
"At the point where Chas returns, it seems that Rhona is not an option," Iain told TV Times.
"So the story then becomes, 'How do you pursue a new relationship when the woman you thought you'd spend the rest of your life with lives up the road and runs a business with you?'
"You'll just have to wait and see how this love story involving these three characters pans out."
