A DATE has been set for the second Sex and the City film.
The eagerly-anticipated sequel will hit the big screen on May 28 next year.
Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon from the hit TV show have all signed up for the next instalment, as has writer Michael Patrick King.
Those behind the franchise are hoping for a repeat of the success of the first movie which grossed $415 million worldwide.
Filming for the follow-up is due to begin in the summer.
It’s rumoured that some of the filming will take place in London, with Big (Chris Noth) having to move to the UK for work – and then having an affair while he’s living away from Carrie (SJP).
But it’s thought that soon after their split Carrie will discover she’s pregnant.
Rumors are swirling that the big-screen Sex and the City sequel will revolve around a major bump in Carrie and Big's romance. That would set the stage nicely for an encore by Aidan, the woodworker who could never quite nail down carefree Carrie.
John Corbett, who currently calls Toni Collette wife on Showtime's United States of Tara, says that should he be needed for more Sex, he's game. "If something came my way, I'd jump on it," Aidan's portrayer tells Access Hollywood.
But since his character last was seen Bjorning around another woman's baby, Corbett suspects that "Aidan's come and gone.... I think it's really more about the girls and Carrie and Big now, so I don't think there's a place for him in there."
Indeed, there's always room for Carrie's one true love. There is talk, though, that Chris Noth is holding out for Big bucks to participate in the follow-up to last summer's blockbuster. As the actor tells the New York Daily News, "I can't imagine Sex and the City without Mr. Big!"
We'll always have that shower scene, but apparently that's it: Gilles Marini says he's most likely not going to be part of the Sex and the City sequel.
"It would be such an honor to come back, but I know for a fact that I'm not going to be in the next Sex and the City — or there's a 99 percent chance I'm not going to be part of it, I should say," Marini tells TVGuide.com.
Though I'm sure, if pressed, many fans could think of at least one reason for Marini to return, the Dancing with the Stars runner-up says that, plot-wise, it wouldn't make sense for his character, the hunky, West Coast-based Dante, to make a reappearance.
"In the first movie, Dante helped Samantha realize maybe she's not ready to be married and whatnot. But now she's back in New York, so is the guy going to go to New York and all of a sudden they're going to meet?" he says. "I believe it'd be great if I could come back, but it won't make much sense and it's pretty much a story between the four girls. I don't know if I'd say yes or no, but there's a big chance I'm not doing it."
But bigger and better things are on the horizon for the Frenchman. He's currently in talks for a "very big movie" and just inked a recurring role on Brothers & Sisters as Rachel Griffiths' character's new love interest. "As we speak, the writers are writing it. I believe she's coming back from a trip with a new guy and I'm the new guy. I'm so excited," he says. "It's a big arc. What a dream! It's really all thanks to Dancing with the Stars."
As for Dancing, Marini still wound up with a trophy on his mantle, thanks to his 10-year-old son, Georges, who crafted a huge star with the message "Daddy, you are the best. With all my love. Ten Eleven Ten. So proud, Georges." (The 11 refers to judge Len Goodman saying he wanted to give Marini that score.)
"The sentences are each on one line, so if you read the first letter from every sentence, it spells DWTS," Marini says. "I didn't even see that [at first]! I looked like an ass! But how beautiful is that? I have two trophies: one from my son and the 2008 Bravo A-List Award for Best Rear of the Year. My butt is taking me so far!"
That looks like a good date! :D
Victoria Beckham has started taking acting lessons after landing a cameo role in the new Sex And The City movie, according to a report.
The 35-year-old singer is believed to have been approached to play a fashionista in the new film when shooting begins next month.
Posh has previously revealed that she was offered a part in the first movie - but turned it down because filming clashed with rehearsals for the Spice Girls reunion tour.
A source told The Mail On Sunday: "She really wanted to be in the last movie but wasn't able to take part because of her commitments with the Spice Girls. This time she's keen to take part."
Beckham has already tried her hand at acting in the past. As well as appearing in the Spice World movie in 1997, she has filmed a guest appearance in Ugly Betty and recorded a voice role for SpongeBob SquarePants.
