Is this really true?
CHARLOTTE Church and fiancé Gavin Henson are to SPLIT after five years together, the News of the World can reveal today.
The sensational break-up comes just SIX WEEKS after they announced their ENGAGEMENT in a glossy magazine buy-up.
Charlotte and Gavin in happier times
The 24-year-old Over the Rainbow judge and Wales rugby star Gavin, 28, have already agreed the details of their separation announcement.
Gavin has told friends it is over and is expected to move out of their £1.2 million home in Wales while singer Charlotte stays there with their children, Ruby, two, and one-year-old Dexter.
A source revealed that Gavin is expected to find a new place nearby so he can visit regularly. Nobody else is believed to be involved in the decision to end the relationship.
Last night an insider told the News of the World: "It is an incredibly sad state of affairs. Both Gavin and Charlotte are deeply distraught.
"But after a lot of soul-searching, they realised this is the best course of action for them and the children. It was a mutual decision.
"To the outside world they were a golden couple. The truth is, they had the same insecurities as anyone else. Charlotte is very headstrong.
"In the end, Gav found it too much. He was blaming her for his rugby career stalling. She hated him going out drinking with mates."
The source revealed that the relationship reached a crisis point when Gavin flew off to Norway in March to film celebrity reality show 71 Degrees North. "At the time Charlotte was preparing her big comeback as a judge on BBC1's Over the Rainbow. She really needed him at home," said the insider.
When he returned, rows exploded. "In the end Gav was taking refuge on their yacht in Swansea because they were quarrelling too much in front of the kids," added our source.
"Now Charlotte is throwing herself into re-launching her pop career. She is in the studio working on a new album, and will be spending a lot more time in London. And Gav just wants to get his rugby boots back on.
"One thing they do still share together is complete devotion to their two children. That won't change at all - and Gav will continue to play a very active role in their lives.
"He is devastated about the break-up, especially because of the impact on the two little ones."
Our story will stun fans of the couple, jointly worth £11million, who were looking forward to a showbiz wedding after the pair announced their engagement on April 20 in OK! magazine - despite the rows.
Henson flew Charlotte in a helicopter from their 20-acre home in Saint Brides Major, Mid Glamorgan, to the a hotel in Truro, Cornwall, to pop the question.
Then he got down on one knee and presented the Voice of an Angel singer with a two-carat, heart-shaped diamond ring for her 24th birthday on February 21.
Charlotte told the magazine how he popped the question during a walk in Truro: "He started saying, 'We've been together five years, we've had good times and hard times but it's mostly been good. I think we are meant to be together for the rest of our lives'.
"I was a bit confused. He never says anything like that. Then he went down on one knee and said, 'Will you marry me?' I was absolutely joyous. I was so pleased."
In the interview Charlotte also revealed: "I think we may as well get married soon - there's no point hanging around, we'll probably have about 100 people."
The pair were planning a quick wedding at an island retreat. And Gavin admitted he was a bag of nerves as he proposed.
He said: "I was nervous about doing the speech beforehand. It's time to get married, I want us to be a family and we have different names at the moment. Me, Ruby and Dexter are Henson and Charlotte is Church. It feels right."
Gavin also told how he softened her up for the proposal by taking her out on a drinking binge the night before.
"When she's hungover and feeling a bit sketchy she's a lot more touchy-feely and lovey so I thought she'll definitely say yes then." Of her ring, which Gavin bought during a family holiday in Dubai in January, Charlotte said: "It's just perfect.

"I'd always said I wanted a heart-shaped diamond and the boy did good. Fair do's to you, Henson."
Both said they wanted more children. "As many as possible really - at least four," said Gavin. Charlotte chipped in: "I definitely want more. I loved being pregnant."
But now it emerges that the couple were already in crisis even as they spoke and posed for magazine. A friend said: "In the pictures their smiles look really awkward. It just didn't look right."
Their five-year relationship has been rocked by repeated bust-ups. And they have grown further apart in recent months as Charlotte mounted a successful showbiz comeback by losing FOUR STONE and appearing as a judge on Andrew Lloyd Webber's BBC1 talent show.
She loved being back in the limelight - and returned to the crazy partying of her teenage years.
But signs of the distress bubbling beneath the surface emerged on May 1 when she was pictured slumped and shoeless in a bar in Shoreditch, East London, after sinking champagne on a night out without Gavin.
She was so smashed she ended up snogging a female friend and had to be supported when she left in the early hours. An onlooker said: "Charlotte arrived at 1.30am with a group of male and female pals. She was already incapable of walking and had to be held up. Her pals opened some champagne and Charlotte carried on drinking on the sofa. She was out of it. She kept snogging her female pal. It wasn't long before she took off her shoes and laid down.
"She was half-asleep and kept slipping off the sofa. After an hour she got up and wandered off.
"She was alone on the top of the stairs with her head in her hands as we were leaving.
"One of her friends pulled her downstairs, bundling her in a taxi."
On May 19, Gavin flew out to LA for a lads holiday. He is still believed to be there.
Drink has been regularly at the root of the couple's arguments. Charlotte once said: "We do argue more when we've had a drink. We have a good time and then we have a couple too many and you lose your perspective.
"It's silly but we can't drink a bottle of wine and go home at midnight. We're not really those kind of drinkers." Adding stress to the volatile chemistry between the two were Gavin's rugby problems.
The injury-plagued centre amassed 31 international rugby caps, plus one for the British and Irish Lions, before taking unpaid indefinite leave from the game more than a year ago.
He told last month how the pressures of fatherhood also played a part in his decision to step back from rugby. "I wanted to concentrate on being a good father. I thought I needed to make this work first," he said. "I hadn't even been missing rugby until lately."
Now they must sort out the aftermath of their split. Church and Henson's £11million fortune earned them 16th place on Britain's wealthiest young people section of the latest Sunday Times Rich List.
But as they had yet to marry, Henson is not entitled to any assets that are not jointly owned, according to family law expert Anne-Marie Hutchinson. She said: "As co-habitees, if they jointly own assets they would be divided as they are held - either 50-50 or whatever."
It means they will have to split the value of their home and the cost of the £800,000 eight-berth yacht they bought last year.
CHARLOTTE CHURCH and GAVIN HENSON split after she accused him of getting close to actress SUSIE AMY, a pal claimed yesterday.
The singer was furious when they became pals while trekking across Norway for new reality TV show 71 Degrees North.
Telly trek ... Susie Amy
The friend said: "Charlotte thought Gavin and Susie had become close. She wanted him at home with her while she launched her TV comeback on Over The Rainbow - and him being away put a strain on their relationship."
The mum of Footballers' Wives star Susie, 29 - who once dated Hotel Babylon star MAX BEESLEY - yesterday said there was "no link" between her and injured rugby ace Gavin, 28.
Susie's spokesman added: "She has a boyfriend and is very happy."
Gavin and Charlotte, 24 - who have had a series of rows in recent months including one at a London hotel - were in crisis talks last night.
The discussions came just six weeks after the couple announced their engagement.
Charlotte told last month how Gavin popped the question the day after her birthday in Cornwall.
She said: "He started saying, 'We've been together five years, we've had good times and hard times but it's mostly been good. I think we are meant to be together for the rest of our lives'.
"Then he went down on one knee and said, 'Will you marry me?' I was absolutely joyous. I was so pleased."
She added at the time: "I think we may as well get married soon - there's no point hanging around, we'll probably have about 100 people."
It is now thought Charlotte will keep their £1.2million mansion in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales, and Gavin will live nearby so he can visit their kids Ruby, two, and Dexter, one.
But one source claimed there may be a reconciliation.
Another insider said the split had been a joint decision and added: "They're both distraught."
Charlotte, who recently lost 4st, was pictured slumped in a bar on a night out with pals in Shoreditch, East London, earlier this month. Gavin returned last week from a lads' holiday in Los Angeles.
The couple refused to comment last night and there was no answer at their family home.

Amanda Bynes says she's retiring from acting — at 24.
"If I don't love something anymore I stop doing it. I don't love acting anymore so I've stopped doing it," she tweeted Saturday morning.
The former child star and Nickelodeon alum adds that being an actress "isn't as fun as it may seem" *— partially because she's always worked on other people's projects.
"I've never written the movies & TV shows I've been a part of I've only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play," she wrote. "I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first. I've retired."
Since getting her break on Nickelodeon's Figure It Out and All That at age 10, Bynes has headlined her own show, The Amanda Show, starred on the WB series What I Like About You, and racked up film credits on What a Girl Wants, She's the Man and Hairspray.
Her final (?) film will be Easy A, a Scarlett Letter-inspired comedy set for release in September.

The actress appeared in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday to answer charges that she broke the conditions of her bail by failing to attend mandatory alcohol education classes.

As one of Hollywood's most notoriously private couples, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem managed to pull off a top secret wedding, marrying earlier this month in the Bahamas.
Cruz's rep has confirmed to People that the 36-year-old Oscar winning actress married her 41-year-old beau in an intimate wedding, where the bride wore a gown designed by friend John Galliano.
The couple have been quietly dating since 2007, refusing to comment on their relationship, or even confirm it, to the press.
They first met when co-starring in Spanish film Jamon Jamon back in 1992, and have since starred side by side in Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona, for which Cruz won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2008. The year before Bardem picked up the Best Actor statue for his role in No Country for Old Men.

Bread actress Gill Coman has passed away, aged 50.
Coman, who played Aveline in the Liverpool-based sitcom for five series, died from a suspected heart attack.
The episode involving Coman's character's wedding to vicar Oswald attracted 21 million viewers in 1988. She gave up the role of Aveline for the final two series and was replaced by Melanie Hill.
Her other TV credits included Brookside, Coronation Street, Emmerdale Farm and Boys From The Blackstuff.
Lifelong friend Jane Joseph, who is now director of St Helens Theatre Royal, told the Liverpool Echo: "She was a fantastic actress, the original Aveline. Gilly told me when she went to her first audition she dressed the part and that is how she got it, everyone fell about the place.
"As far as I am concerned, she was a person to look up to. She made her own way in the acting community and really carved her career out. Everybody used to say she created the role of Aveline, and the other actress was really just stepping into her shoes."
Bread writer Carla Lane said: "Gill was a nice girl, a good actress and she never questioned the lines I gave her. She knew how to walk to make people laugh and she knew the character better than I did."
RIP Gill :(
Wesley Snipes is facing three years in prison after losing an appeal against his conviction for tax offences.
Lawyers for the actor, whose films include the Blade trilogy, had argued the sentence was "unreasonable".
But the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta found that a three-year term in federal prison was appropriate.
In February 2008, Snipes was found guilty of deliberately failing to file tax returns for 1999, 2000 and 2001.
He earned more than $37m (£24m) in gross income between 1999 and 2004 but did not file individual federal income tax returns for any of those years, according to official court papers.
The actor, 47, was cleared of more serious fraud and conspiracy charges.
Snipes, 47, was sentenced in April 2008 and launched an appeal the following month.
He has been on bail ever since.
Snipes' lawyers had also argued that their client should have been granted a hearing to decide whether his trial should have been held in New York instead of Florida, but this was also dismissed.
In 2007, his lawyers had challenged the venue, alleging that the government had chosen Ocala County, Florida, for trial for racially discriminatory reasons.
The star's lawyer was not immediately available for comment following Friday's ruling. It is not yet known when his sentence will begin.
Snipes' other films include White Men Can't Jump, Passenger 57, Demolition Man and One Night Stand.

She said in a statement published by AAP: "We have been trying to plan [the wedding] for some time and unfortunately the only window of opportunity for our honeymoon fell at the same time as the David Jones fashion launch.
"David Jones very graciously released me during this period so we could celebrate an intimate ceremony and honeymoon together."

Sandra Bullock has reportedly decided to reunite with husband Jesse James.
According to Life & Style, the Oscar-winning actress recently re-established contact with James and is considering giving their relationship another chance for the sake of their family.
She has raised his daughter, 6-year-old Sunny, for the past five years as well as parented his other children Chandler and Jesse Jr. She also recently adopted a 7-month-old son called Louis.
"Her heart is open to him again," a source said.

It was recently reported that James won full custody of Sunny from his ex-wife, porn star Janine Lindemulder.
Recently married couple Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr are apparently expecting their first child - just weeks after it was revealed that they married in secret.
The gorgeous couple fast-tracked their one month engagement and held a secret wedding ceremony in the Caribbean two weeks ago. Now, it appears there may have been more to the rushed marriage than met the eye, as it has been reported that Miranda is pregnant.
A source close the 27-year-old Victoria's Secrets model told reporters: "She's definitely pregnant... Miranda's thrilled. She's telling all her friends, mostly other models, about it. She poses in lingerie. It will be obvious soon enough."

Inception star Tom Hardy has admitted having gay flings in the past - despite being engaged to British actress Charlotte Riley.
The 32-year-old Brit says there's a simple explanation for the sexual experimentation.
It's because he's an actor, naturally.
Asked if he has ever had sex with other men she said: "As a boy? Of course I have. I'm an actor ... but now that I'm in my 30s, it doesn't do it for me.
"A lot of gay men get my thing for shoes. I have definite feminine qualities.
"A lot of people say I seem masculine, but I don't feel it. I feel intrinsically feminine.
"I'd love to be one of the boys but I always felt a bit on the outside.
"Maybe my masculine qualities come from overcompensating because I'm not one of the boys."
Olympian-turned-TV adventurer JAMES CRACKNELL has suffered brain damage after fracturing his skull in a cycling accident last week (ends25Jul10), according to his wife.
The rower was cycling through Arizona filming a new show for the Discovery Channel when he was involved in a collision with a truck.
He is currently semi-conscious in a neuro-trauma ward and will need six months to recover from his injuries, according to his wife Beverly Turner.
She tells the Daily Telegraph, "I'd spent years worrying that James would plunge down a crevasse in some remote wilderness, but it was a road traffic accident in the U.S. that has left him with a fractured skull and damage to his brain."
Turner reveals Cracknell has had bleeding and swelling on his brain, which could cause personality and motivation issues - but she insists his prognosis is good.
She adds, "Only those closest to him may be able to tell a subtle difference."
The pair shares two children, Croyde, six, and Kiki, 16 months.
I wish him a speedy and full recovery
Scottish singer DARIUS CAMPBELL is "lucky to be alive" after breaking his neck in a "terrifying" high speed car crash.
The pop star, previously known as Darius Danesh, cracked several vertebrae in his neck in a road accident on 19 July (10) while on vacation in Marbella, Spain.
The 29 year old and his two friends all survived the crash, but he admits the incident left him fearing for his life.
He tells Scotland's Glasgow Evening Times, "It was absolutely terrifying. I thought that was going to be it. My life flashed before my eyes and I thought I was going to die.
"I don't remember the impact - it all happened so fast and I felt very dazed afterwards. The last thing I remember was being thrown forwards. Before I knew it, I had got out of the car, but I hit the ground and I couldn't feel my arms and my legs."
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and doctors suggested an operation to repair the damage, but Campbell opted instead to wear a neck brace while he recovers, fearing surgery could harm his vocal cords.
He adds, "I'm lucky to be alive. I'm feeling much better but I still have a neck brace. I hope the vertebrae heal on their own. But if that doesn't happen, they would have to operate. I want to put the op off for a few weeks and hope the damage heals."
 He is lucky to be alive, hope he does not have lasting damage
PEACHES GELDOF is to wed for the second time - aged 21 - after a whirlwind romance with horror movie director ELI ROTH.

Peaches and Inglourious Basterds star Eli, 38, plan a Jewish ceremony in front of 50 guests with views across Manhattan.
And last night a Hollywood pal said: "We wouldn't be surprised if they started a family together very soon."
The couple have only been dating since March but Peaches recently moved to Los Angeles to live with her lover.
They bought a pet pig together and Sir Bob is understood to have given Eli his seal of approval.
The friend said: "They are confident this is the real deal.
"They want a wedding on a New York rooftop and plan to invite about 50 friends including Quentin Tarantino. Apart from the trendy venue it will be a traditional Jewish ceremony in keeping with Eli's family faith.
"They are trying to keep it secret - I don't know if Peaches' dad knows yet."
In April Eli wrote an open letter defending Peaches after artist Ben Mills posted saucy pictures of her on the internet following a one-night stand.

Chelsea Clinton has married her long-term boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky in a ceremony at the Astor Courts estate in New York.
Clinton, daughter of former US President Bill Clinton and current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has known investment banker Mezvinsky since they were both teenagers. The event took place on Saturday evening, costing an estimated $2m (£1.3m) to $3m (£1.9m), according to PA.
In a statement released to confirm the wedding, Bill and Hillary Clinton said: "We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family.
"On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day."
A no-fly zone was in place above the Hudson valley and roads near to the venue were closed as guests arrived in limousines, according to the BBC. Local business owners are also said to have been sworn to secrecy about the wedding, while local residents were given bottles of wine to compensate for the inconvenience.
Guests at the wedding reportedly included Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Barbra Streisand.
