How will this get to number 1? have people taken leave of their senses and forgotten what real talent and music sounds like? or have people been brainwashed by all these reality shows that are around?
its only going to number 1 cos its "her", if it was anyone else I don't think it would have had the same success.
Thats a shame :(
my daughter keeps playing that parachute song! she loves it but to me it's just out of tune rubbish that keeps repeating its self:wall:
Number 1 today guarenteed.
Yep, she has it in the bag.
Tell me the bad news is she number 1?
Cheryl Cole's solo debut has become the fastest-selling single of the year.
'Fight For This Love' sold more than 290,000 copies in its first week on release to beat 2009's previous seven-day best - set by Alexandra Burke's 'Bad Boys' last week - by over 100,000 units.
"I'm just getting over the fact I have recorded my solo record and now it's number one," Cole told the Official Chart Company. "I can't take this all in. It's hard for me to put into words how I feel. I have this permanent smile on my face."
Behind Cole, Burke's 'Bad Boys' slips to two, while Chipmunk's 'Oopsy Daisy' holds steady at three.
Meanwhile, Whitney Houston climbs from 14 to five with 'Million Dollar Bill' following her performance on The X Factor last week.
Young Soul Rebels - a collective featuring Tinchy Stryder, Pixie Lott and N-Dubz among others - debut at ten with 'I Got Soul', a single released in aid of the War Child charity.
The top ten singles in full:

Olly Murs and Jamie Archer have performed a cover of Cheryl Cole's number one single 'Fight For This Love'.
The duo, who are in Simon Cowell's Over-25s category, have been filmed playing the track at the X Factor house.
"We are going to do a live lounge. This is going to be a new version of 'Fight For This Love' by Cheryl Cole. This is for you Cheryl," says Murs. Archer plays acoustic guitar on the track and joins Murs for the chorus and backing vocals.
Midway through the performance, Murs changes the lyrics to: "We're sitting here in the Over-25s room, chilling out with Cheryl Cole... outside there's loads of fans screaming, 'We love the Afro man'."
Archer also attempts to imitate the dance routine Cole performed on The X Factor results show two weeks ago.
X Factor continues next Saturday on ITV1, when the final nine contestants will be performing with a Rock Week theme.

Please no what are the public thinking?
you know I hope when Nadine does her solo stuff she manages to do just as well and get all this hype, shes a far better singer than Cheryl.
your probs right :(
When it comes to Girls Aloud I don't think they are like the spice girls where there was only one decent singer in the group- Mel C and the rest average I find with Girls Aloud there all average singers.
still number one for cheryl :thumbsdow
1 Cheryl Cole 107.9k
2 Westlife 62.7k
3 Jay Sean 56.6k
4 Alexandra Burke 54k
5 Michael Bublé 31.9k
Still No. 1
Girls Aloud singer and X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has achieved double chart success with her debut solo single and album both reaching number one.
Her song Fight For This Love held onto the lead in the singles chart for a second week and remains the fastest-selling track of the year so far.
Now her debut album 3 Words has entered the chart in the top spot, beating This Is It, the new Michael Jackson release.
The Official UK Charts Company said it was a "fabulous achievement" for Cole.
Spokesman Martin Talbot said: "3 Words now looks set to be one of the biggest albums of this coming Christmas."
Cole held onto number one in the singles chart despite new entries from Westlife - who reached number two with What About Now - and Jay Sean.
To reach the top of the album chart she knocked off last year's X Factor winner Alexandra Burke.
This Is It, the soundtrack to the new film about Jackson's final concert series, was a new entry at number three.

Cheryl Cole has reportedly signed a deal to release her solo album 3 Words in the United States.
The record, which is currently at number one in the UK, is expected to be released through Interscope early next year.
According to the News Of The World, Cole will release her collaboration with Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am, '3 Words', as the first single Stateside.
"The Interscope deal is huge for Cheryl, especially as Girls Aloud have never released a single there," a source told the newspaper.
Interscope Records, which is owned by Universal Music Group, is home to acts including Black Eyed Peas, Enrique Iglesias, Lady GaGa and Pussycat Dolls.
Cole's debut solo single 'Fight For This Love' became the fastest-selling single of the year in the UK after shifting over 290,000 copies in its first week.

The flipside to the single will feature the Adele-penned 'Boys'.

Cheryl Cole has just landed herself the best-ever mentor - apparently Jay-Z wants to help launch our favourite Northener’s career in the States. According to The Daily Mirror, Cheryl hit it off with Jay- Z’s wife Beyonce when she appeared on The X Factor last year and now Jay-Z is keen to help her become a huge international star. And as if that's not enough good news for Cheryl, her debut album, 3 Words, has also gone platinum in the UK.
Parachute will be her third single! :D
Good, cos I love that song :D
hmm I think Parachute is pretty rubbish :\ Id prefer 'Stand Up'
I think that her whole album is rubbish. She is an over-hyped, well marketed barbie from a talent show.
Is this the same Cheryl Tweedy who was arrested for punching someone in the ladies toilets of some nightclub a few years ago?
Who made her the 'Nation's Sweetheart'?
I cannot stand her.
The 'Nations Sweetheart' thing is a load of sh!t, nobody can speak for this whole country at the end of the day.
