Oh well spotted Dutch. Mind you really really dont think Denise is dead!!!
Maybe there isn't hard evidence which links him to the murders. Maybe they want more to pin it on him.
They could have kept his departure a secret. Could have been terms on which he signed on.
I don't think it is Denise that is dead. There's been nothing mentioned about her leaving and most of the time secrets are badly kept.
Quite a few are saying that in other threads too, Kim and great minds think alike :)
Could be a continuity error, happens a lot if you look closely lol
lol true, but we dont know the angles they are filming at, if it is denise then maybe they used a double person for one particular bit
Ah it's a sport you know. Spot the error!! hahahaha.
would denise not put a jacket on when she left the car?
but, what happened to the girl he locked up, did i miss it with all the shifting around with the football?
also it said in the papers that 6 were being got rid of in eastenders, mostly those kids,I've counted 6 and Diane Parish is not one of them!
Nah I think he must get another "prositute" who resemble DEnise and shoves her in the water, then locks up Denise like he did with that other girl.
BBC Three goes behind the scenes with EastEnders' man of the cloth gone bad again at the end of the month for an hour-long The Murders of Lucas Johnson.
After a two-year stint, Lucas's secrets unravel in dramatic style in a few weeks' time in an explosive showdown at the Truemans' - and the horrifying truth is sure to tear the whole family apart.
The one-hour show takes a look back at Lucas's story, while also reflecting on some of the soap's best demises in its 25-year history.
EastEnders: The Murders of Lucas Johnson airs on Friday, July 30 at 8.30pm on BBC Three.
once the autopsy takes place they will know she was strangled and that he left the Prayer Meeting, and she was killed its because she knew who killed Owen ..
well the "supposed" body of denise was lifted in the water, but what i want to know is, what happened to her wedding ring?
Coz from where i was looking it was her left hand that was shown and there was no wedding ring on!
No doubt lucas will say she was mugged first,
but then that does not make sense why she would text her girls saying sorry (coz are we not meant to think she has took her own life?)
eh i can't figure it out, please enlighten me you wise ones
I'm as much in the dark as you are, to be honest.
I did notice that the body had bright pink nail varnish, just like Denise had been wearing, but apart from that you couldn't really tell if it was her. I didn't notice whether she was wearing a wedding ring or not.
I'm not sure how Lucas thinks he can get away with strangling her then pretending she killed herself. Surely a post mortem will find bruises and the real cause of death.
If Denise is really dead (as seems the case), I'm still perplexed by the complete lack of hype surrounding Diane Parrish's leaving EE. I can understand if EE bosses wanted to keep it top secret, but nothing's been said even now Denise is dead.
The BBC has dismissed complaints that EastEnders' current storyline featuring Lucas Johnson (Don Gilet) is offensive to Christians.
Viewers have seen Johnson murder his wife's ex-husband and leave his own ex-wife to die following an accident. Most recent scenes aired appeared to show the preacher strangle wife Denise (Diane Parish).
The BBC said in a statement: "Lucas is certainly not intended to be representative of Christians. He is a very damaged and dangerous individual who has created a twisted version of the Christian 'faith' in his mind to hide behind and to convince himself that his actions are acceptable. As the story unfolds, we will see other characters questioning Lucas's claim to be a Christian.
"As Lucas has become increasingly unhinged, his obsession and reliance on the Bible and the scriptures has become increasingly frantic and desperate. This represents this character's emotional breakdown, and it is very clear that this is absolutely not normal behaviour."
It was also confirmed that future scenes will see other characters question Lucas's behaviour.
"In episodes yet to broadcast, we will see the characters Grace, Mercy and Dot - all three of whom are Christians - question and discuss Lucas's frame of mind," the statement concluded.
A BBC Three special, EastEnders: The Murders of Lucas Johnson, will air at the end of the month.
If it is not one group complaining, it is another. This is happening in real life, it is a storyline in a fictional setting and in no way offensince
I think the current storyline about Syed trying to change is offensive to all gay people. I think the current storyline about Phil and Ben is offensive to all dads. I think the current storyline about Adam being such a creep is offensive to all disabled people. I think the current storyline about Minty throwing Darren out is offensive to all football supporters (and car mechanics). I think the current storyline about Peggy and Glenda is just plain offensive to everyone.
Who should I write to?
There you go again Parkerman, beating around the bush. You should come out and say what you mean
I think it is going to be the prostitute they bring out of the water , did anyone notice that Denise was wearing a watch and loads of rings on her left hand/arm and she was wearing nail varnish. When they pulled the body out of the water there was no sings of rings and watch etc.I think Lucus has hidden her in that building.
denise is always jangling like a xmas tree, and as i said earlier why would she not have her wedding ring on,
after all lucas wanted her to be found (making on she took her own life) so why would she take off jewellery?
If your going to, take your own life are your really thinking of doing that!!!
Also, what on earth is the post mortem going to reveal, she drowned, YEA AFTER SHE WAS CHOKED, surely even the police in walford are that not inadequate AND WILL SEE HER NECK.
And---- how is it, each of the people who have died connected with lucas, we have seen them die, but with denise we did'nt
and how when lucas identified the body, we never got to see her face.
Nah it's not her, no way jose!
well its her funeral next friday so she must be dead
That way they can exhume the body once the truth about Lucas comes out! New explosive storyline which will have the nation gripped
Dont the police know what Denise looks like since they interviewed her about Owen's death so how can Lucas pass off another body as hers and as said before the dental records and dna wont match
EastEnders producer John Yorke has revealed that Don Gilet was "ecstatic" about his character Lucas Johnson's murderous personality.
Yorke was responding to criticisms from author and journalist Hannah Pool, who claimed that writers turned Lucas into a killer with little reasoning.
Pool had suggested: "When Lucas first appeared and as a man of the cloth, I was really interested because religion plays a big part in many black communities.
"But then he started killing people and my heart sank. I thought, 'When you have so few black male characters, is this really the best you can do?'
"EastEnders very nearly had a credible, working black family and they ruined it by making Lucas a murderer. I feel that a whole family has been written off."
Yorke said in response: "If you look at the history of Afro-Caribbean men on British TV, the early days saw them almost universally cast as 'villains'.
"In the more enlightened '80s things started to change, and in a bid to correct that bias they tended to mean 'boring'."
He continued: "When Gary Beadle was cast as Paul Trueman, he actually hugged me and said, 'Thank God I can be a *******!' When we discussed Lucas's storyline with Don Gilet, he was ecstatic.
"It struck me then how ironic it was that the good intentions of the white liberal media had the effect of denying black men interesting roles.
"While you have to be careful about representation, if all actors aren't allowed equal rights to play whatever stories come up, then a whole new type of far more insidious racism comes into place."
They might be advised not to if the body is badly decomposed or the face has been badly injured and not everyone wants to
As some one pointed out , Lucas would not say that was his wife on the slab , if it was someone else. The cops already know what Denise looks like, they had her in for an interview and had seen her at home before that too, bottom line Lucas strangled her and then dumped her body in the canal, the autopsy will tell the cops that she was murdered
If it was a different body on the slab and Lucas had said , yes that is my wife denise , the cops would have had him on the spot. Why would he say that was his wife if it had been someone else .. he would have been found out
well looking at the magazines in asda today and it looks like his next victim is patrick
There's going to be no-one left in that family soon...
So anyway, to sum up my thoughts on where we are at the moment.
1. Either the body is not Denise, in which case the police would know that as they have seen her or
2. The body is Denise and a post-mortem would show she was strangled before drowning.
Either way the current storyline just doesn't add up.
