Aww yay well done Abbie and Lea :D
Woo got offer at Cardiff :D.
But I don't get the conditions..
I'm sure this one is a HND course... which the requirements were pass pass pass from my diploma... but it says this..
Does that mean I need 240 points? :S I don't get it lol..Quote:
This offer is subject to you obtaining
BTEC 18-unit Diploma
The Core is considered as a 2nd A level or equivalent for a HND programme and a 3rd A level or
equivalent for a degree programme eg typical offer 240 points, Core counted as 80 points towards
offer (dependant on programme).
Sorry I dont understand it
I just got an offer from Aber today, well like just now :D
yay 4 now :p one to go but I still havent heard anything form sheffield not even that they have my application, I guess I'll be waiting a while then, oh well Im not thta fussed on that one but they want the highest grades and I prefer other unis, I only put it on there so I have 5 and I did like it it would be nice to see how they say
Email them, really? Haha, they won't think I'm stupid ?
Is that not just telling you waht your BTEC pass should be the equivalent to?
No. Just explain that the offer confuses you and can they simply state if your offer is PPP or something different.
Just email them and they will clarify it is better knowing then not, and no they wont think you stupid its probably a common question.
Oh kasple another thing, has readin sent you anything saying they have got your application?
Reading just sent me a letter in the post. They said no to doing a year in industry but they would offer me a place in just biological science. So no...not going there! A year out will look better on my cv and well...the facilities and nightlife are better at other uni's.
So looks like its between Bristol and Herts! :D
Ooo well at least you can decide now :D
Yeah :D
Uwe just updated my offer, to the same thing.  Weird it still says conditional offer but its been updated today when they said the same thing in December lol
 lol thats very odd!
Oh holy crap!
I just got an email from sheffield and they want to interview me :S
I can go online and pick one of their interview days!!
Oooh congrats. How many offers have you left to come?
Thats it that was the final one
So I have 4 offers all conditional
And this last one from sheffield well its not an offer its an interview to be considered for an offer :S
I have no idea what to do!
Congratulations on your offers Abbie, Stars and Lea :)
I have two exams for Aberystwyth next week. If I do well in them, I get an unconditional offer and a scholarship. Also, I had my interview at Cardiff UWIC today.. I think it went alright :) just talked about what I've written and what texts I've read and studied.
I'm off to a Bangor open day next Saturday :D Yay, but I have to leave at like 6am from my house :ninja:
Ooo what was your interview like?
I hate the thought have having to go to one, I would have no idea what to say and well I dont even really want to go to this one, not really, ahhh im in a right muddle
Where does Sheffield feature in your choices? Would it be worth going for an interview if you're not going to choose the university anyway?
Thats what Im thinking, cos to be honest I out sheffield as one of my last choices on ucas cos I wasnt sure mainly at the time they wanted ABB and I had liked it when I went but I dunno i just seem to prefer others and Ive pretty much chosen my final 2
But I dunno whether to go cos if I tell my tutor he might say you might as well go for experience and see what happens, you know what I mean?
And at the the same time I honestly thought my application would be unsuccessful straight away from them
Im in a muddle :(
It was quite informal really. Do you know if your interview will be formal or informal?
The lecturer that interviewed me just went through the course content in more depth, what I should expect from the course etc and asked what my interests were, what books I've read, my favourite authors etc. She also went through my personal statement and asked a few questions on that.
The important thing is to just be yourself. Is Sheffield one of your top choices?
I got an interview for Canterbury. It was the last offer I received and I had already made my decision about my other offers so I didn't go.
Do what you think is best. If you don't think the interview is worth it and you've already made your mind up, then don't go.
It says informal on the webiste now that Ive checked it out and on my email when I followed the link it seems this interview it like part of some open day, well departmental open day too
I dunno, because the thought of an interview makes me feel sick and I get so nervous and Ive really had to have one before so maybe I should go for pratice?
But at the same time its just gonna be a waste of money to go......I really dont know what to do
You wouldn't have anything to lose if you did go and it went good or badly. You'll still have all 4 of your other offers. It's up to you at the end of the day.
If it's informal, there really isn't much to worry about. They'll probably be talking to you quite a lot and will probably just ask you what your interests are and whether you have any questions on the uni or the course.. well, that's judging from my experience of an "informal interview"
congrats on getting an interview :) does it say if you need to prepare anything for the interview? you might get a letter about it nearer the time, thats what i got when i had to go to interviews. dont worry about it though as from my experience they arent as bad as you think theyre going to be
I know but I dont think if they give me an offer Im gonna condsider it cos Ive already chosen my 2
I dunno I need time to think, my mum was like: do you really want to go if youve made up your mind?
Anyway this morning Aberystwyth sent me loads more information and saying how Ive been accepted. It does look good there but its just way too small of an area for me. I mean I would have gone if I didnt get accepted into others and liked it, but I prefer the bigger areas
You might as well go along, so at least you give it a chance. I barely gave Portsmouth a second thought, and i happened to come to a departmental open day, and fell in love with the place. You applied there for a reason, even if you think you've made up your mind already, you might as well give it a chance.
I know but at the same time Ive already been to an open day their and Ive seen the area as well as I went into town and I only put it on my application to see what would happen but as Ive been looking up my course and stuff I think I would better in my other 2 choices which I love
The only reason Im not sure to go id for this interview but then I keep going back to the fact that I think even though it might be a good experience its gonna be a waste of time
Sheffield is basically the offer Ive been awaiting to here from so I can start accepting the ones I want and declining the others
