Emmerdale stars Sian Reese-Williams and Rik Makarem have praised their characters' upcoming exit storylines, telling Digital Spy that the Gennie and Nikhil journey gets a "fitting" ending.
Gennie looks set to leave the soap with a bang as she has a terrifying car crash this week, while her husband Nikhil is also bowing out in the near future.
Speaking to DS, Reese-Williams explained: "[The Gennie and Nikhil fans have] obviously been very upset, but I think it's a really exciting ending. It's not off in a cab in the middle of an episode. I think it'll give them maybe not what they want, but it will at least be a fitting, exciting ending."
Makarem added: "What we've got is good, solid story. The whole team have put their heart and soul into telling it."
The actors also chatted to us about being part of the popular 'Genhil' pairing and their gratitude to fans who have supported them.
Emmerdale airs Gennie's dramatic crash story tomorrow (July 25) at 7pm and 8pm on ITV.
