Steve Peacocke and girlfriend Bridgette Sneddon at the Logie's
Speaking to TV Week, the actor, who plays Summer Bay's 'Brax', said: "I wasn't expecting to win Gold. The Gold, you hope is a reward for a body of work, just like (winner) Asher Keddie said."
Discussing his Silver win at the biggest night on Australian Television, Peacocke said: "It was just amazing to win. I was so nervous going up to accept the Logie, but at least I remembered to thank Bridgette (Peacocke's girlfriend) this year.
"I was really hoping Lachy Hulme was going to get the award as I thought he was really deserved it.
"I'm chuffed the audience are so supportive of the show and of me and my work. Winning this award make me feel like we're on the right track. I don't take their support for granted."
Peacocke recently said that he wasn't hopeful of winning at the Logie's.

Home and Away's Ricky Sharpe will fear for Brax's life when her brother Adam declares he wants him dead.
Brax (Steve Peacocke) is still unaware that Adam is alive and seeking revenge on him, so he has no idea of the danger.
The shock declaration comes after Adam gets his sister Ricky to transfer funds in to Connie's account. When Connie discovers the transfer, she wrongly believes Heath (Dan Ewing) has deposited the money because he's obtained it illegally.
Upset to think Heath has resorted to crime again, Connie refuses to let Heath have any contact with his daughter Darcy. However, when Heath learns about the transfer, he believes it was Brax who deposited the cash and seeking with rage, he punches his brother on the beach.
Speaking to TV Week, Peacocke said: "Heath punches Brax because he thinks Brax is trying to control his life and has gone behind his back."
He continued: "This is part of Adam's masterplan - to drive a wedge between the brothers and tear the family apart. His plan is certainly working because Heath is pretty angry."
Brax later opens up to Ricky about his family problems and she pretends to know nothing about what has been happening. A guilty Ricky then goes to find Adam to try to explain that Brax isn't as bad as he believes. However, Ricky is shocked when Adam threatens that unless she does what she is told, he will kill Brax.
Peacocke said: "It is a really compromising situation. Adam is lying about this bloke she has started to fall in love with, and she's gutted because she is realising that Adam has got it all wrong.
"Things have stepped up to a new level and his life is in danger. She's trying to fix the situation."

Home and Away's Steve Peacocke will take a break from the soap while he pursues a film role in America.
Peacocke, who plays Summer Bay's Brax, will play a supporting role in Hollywood film Hercules.
Speaking to Yahoo about his new part, Peacocke said: "I work on Home and Away and [am] loving that, [but] I managed to put a tape down for Hercules. The director saw it and before I knew it I flew to Los Angeles on a Friday afternoon.
"I auditioned with the director, producers and writers and flew back on Sunday night, ready for a Monday morning start at Palm Beach."
However, Peacocke insists that this is not the end for his Home and Away character Brax.
"It signals the launch for a whole new storyline that would not have come about if I did not get this film role.
"The writers came up with this awesome scenario, Brax leaves the storyline and comes back. It's going to be exciting to come back to, I can't wait."

Home and Away star Steve Peacocke has publicly thanked the show's bosses for allowing his upcoming break from Summer Bay.
As revealed earlier today, the actor has landed a supporting role in Hollywood movie Hercules, which will require time away from his soap commitments.
Hercules, which is currently in pre-production, will star Dwayne Johnson, John Hurt, Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes and Rufus Sewell. It is currently scheduled for release in July 2014 from Paramount and MGM.
Filming will take place in Budapest, Hungary in the coming months. Peacocke will return to his role as Home and Away's Brax in September.
Peacocke said today: "This is an incredible opportunity for me to experience film on a massive scale, work with a world-class director, actors and two of the biggest studios in the world. I'm grateful [Australian broadcaster] Seven is allowing me time out to get a taste of that world."
Home and Away's producer Lucy Addario added: "Steve is a truly great actor so it is no surprise that Hollywood has come calling. We are thrilled to be able to give Steve this short break from Home and Away and support him as he takes up this amazing opportunity."
Peacocke has been appearing on Home and Away since February 2011.

Home and Away actor Steve Peacocke has spoken about his starring role in Hollywood film Hercules, and the impact it will have on his role in the soap.
The actor, who is taking a hiatus from playing Brax in the Australian show, said that accepting the part of Stephanos in the film means that his character "is going to be out of action for a short while."
Peacocke added: "When he comes back into the story, his [life] and everyone he cares about lives have changed for ever. It means a very unexpected turn in his life that's probably the most intense and exciting storyline I have done yet."
The actor, who added that landing a job in America had "always been a dream" and was "a step in the right direction", also said that it was very important for him to be able to return to Summer Bay.
"I love where I currently work and I'm happy to come back with more experience to make what I do on the show even better," Peacocke continued.
"I'm grateful that Channel Seven were happy to facilitate the progression in my career like this. I've got the best of both worlds.
"I can go and work in a feature film which has always been a dream, and then come back to the job and the people that I love more than anything I've ever done."
Hercules, which also stars John Hurt, Ian McShane and Dwayne Johnson, is set for a July 2014 release.
Concluding, Peacocke said of his co-stars: "I just hope I can learn something from all of them and keep up."

Home and Away's Brax will be left with an impossible decision after his enemy Adam forces him to choose whether he wants to save Tamara or Ricky.
Adam kidnaps both Tamara and Ricky and holds them hostage in an upcoming UK storyline, which is already airing in Australia.
Whilst being held hostage, Tamara (Kelly Paterniti) is disgusted to discover that Ricky (Bonnie Sveen) has a lot more to do with their kidnappers than she had been letting on.
However, when an attempt to escape goes wrong, the girls are both left fearing for their lives.
Kelly Paterniti told TV Week: "Tamara's terrified. She doesn't know where she is or who these people are.
"She is initially comforted with having someone she knows with her in a hostage situation but when it becomes clear Ricky hasn't been honest with her, she's furious.
"She is shocked when she sees Adam as she thought he was dead."
In order to regain Tamara's trust in her, Ricky hatches an escape plan for the two of them. Their bid for freedom doesn't quite go to plan though and while Ricky escapes, Tamara is trapped.
Adam and his allies quickly catch up with Ricky though and threaten that if either of the girls try and escape again, he will kill them.
Things go from bad to worse when Brax, who is desperately trying to find the girls, gets a phone call from Adam who he believed was dead. Adam orders Brax to decide which girl he wants to save - Tamara or Ricky.

Home and Away fans can expect another rift between the Braxton brothers when Brax decides that his new girlfriend Ricky Sharpe should move in.
Brax (Steve Peacocke) is ready to make a go of his relationship with Ricky, having forgiven the blonde for being part of her brother Adam's revenge scheme against the Braxtons.
Ricky initially rejects Brax's idea, knowing that his younger brother Casey (Lincoln Younes) won't be pleased.
Bonnie Sveen, who plays Ricky, told TV Week: "She's still in disbelief that Brax has forgiven her and that his love overrides everything that has happened. She just doesn't see moving in together as feasible.
"If Ricky is living there, then no-one's around to look after Casey, which is what she thinks Brax should be preoccupied with. She's known them most of her life and wouldn't want to get in the way of their relationship."
When Ricky finally relents and agrees to live with Brax, her worst fears are realised as Casey reacts badly, unable to forget Ricky's recent mistakes.
Sveen added: "[Ricky] is in a very confronting situation."
