'Emmerdale' announces shock arson plot

It was oh so obvious

Billy Hartman has confirmed that he will look back fondly on his long stint playing Terry Woods in Emmerdale.

Earlier tonight, Terry met a tragic end as he became a casualty of the soap's shock fire storyline, which saw a blaze spread through a row of cottages at the heart of the village.

Terry lost his life while trying to save Viv Hope (Deena Payne) as the flames consumed her flat - but she also lost her life in the disaster.

Reflecting on his time at Emmerdale, Hartman commented: "I don't know where to start - Emmerdale has been such a big part of my life over the years, that I can't sum it up in a few words.

"It's been wonderful and I will miss the show but I'm really looking forward to the future."

Hartman has been part of the Emmerdale cast since 1995, putting him among the soap's longest-serving stars.

It's a shame that Terry went but he hasn't had a decent storyline for ages not since his time with Louise so I suppose it was time for him to go.

But then again as DI Slimeball is the guilty person its only to be expected that he will want everyone blaming Andy

Gennie thinks it is Andy and Chas thinks it is Carl and now it seems Katie herself thinks it is Andy all morons imo

So Viv's funeral is "down south" :(

Do you think Louise and maybe britt (Terry's ex wife) should come for his funeral?

I doubt Louise will come, she is busy in Australia and as Terry was divorced from Britt and widowed with Dawn dying, I think TJ is the only blood relative that will attend his funeral. Think it is disgusting that they did not afford Viv a funeral in Emmerdale, they killed t he character off, lets put her to rest where she has been living for such a long time

I agree with you. Its terrible the way ITV have treated Deena Payne. What a cop out by ''having the funeral down South'' because its what bKelly and Scott wanted. Viv was still married to Bob so ultimately the decision was his to make. Besides Viv has been in Emmerdale a long time and her first?? husband is buried there

Seriously? Shame on the company because they didnt script a fictional funeral for a fictional character in a fictional soap? oh deary me!!
