I think they're trying to make us see that he has some humanity but I really don't care about that "other side" of him, I just want him gone. Eileen used to be a funny character but now she just annoys me the way she can't see the truth about her husband. I can just see Pat trying to isolate her from other people, especially the ones who can see him for who he is, and it's just going to ruin the character even more.
Eileen can't see the other side of him because he has convinced her otherwise.

Bethany is just annoying at the moment. Yes, it's probably irritating to have some old guy call you a "bobby dazzler" but unless he's being crude or "inappropriate" you just have to put up with it. If she worked in the Rovers she'd probably get remarks like that all the time - how would she cope?
