I really got into the Nan & Alfie eppi last night,, it was great , and I am so glad that Alfie finally realized that his Nan was ready to go and join her William, the guy who played SID really opened Alfies eyes..
How come I didn't see any more of those flash backs u guys were mentioning,, the ones of Kat Billy and Lil Mo,,, did they just show it in the UK or was this from Thurs's eppi ( I missed it..:crying: )
Anyway was also nice seeing Shane on Jonathan Ross show that nite,,
If they were like Nana's flashbacks then yes, if they are just to recap then no thanks. It had everything we'd been wanting for ages and Sarah Phelps wrote it so the actors could deliver a very special epi, that they should keep up.
In the early years it was more drama than soap, then it lost its way a bit, so they should start heading back into a bit more dramatic too keep us watching.
I have only been watching EE since 2001 so I do not know what it was like prior to the stuff I have seen,, the last few weeks things have been picking up and then Peg arrived, then her boys, then Chrissie and Jake picked up by the cops, then this eppi with Alfie and his Nana ( was touching and yep I admit I cried)
Does any one know if Kat has found out about Nana's condition ???:searchme:
No I think she finds out next week or in the coming weeks, from reading the spoiler blogs. She's going to be devastated that Alfie didnt tell her about Nana, as she loves Nana, well who doesnt she's LOVELY.
Agreed. Flashbacks like those used yesterday are a useful way of telling a backstory but it would lose its impact as a storytelling device if it was used too often and just for recapping purposes.Quote:

Like the story of Pat and Mo, that was ok, not as good as Nana and Alfie. They tried fancy camera work and it fell flat like the middle of a pavalova when the doors been opened too early.
last night was lovely- i cried my eyes out, and think i will do at xmad when poor nana is reunited with william
it was such a sweet episode, hilda and shane acted it really well - only thing i didn't like was alfie confessing all to a random man!

but a stranger is easier to tell than someone who is close to the situation, thats why i cant wait for kat to be told :D her reaction should be good if its handled right.
