Coldplay have stormed to the top of the UK albums chart with their fifth studio LP Mylo Xyloto.
The long-awaited record from Chris Martin's band raced to pole position after shifting 208,000 copies, more than the rest of the top five combined.
Mylo Xyloto's phenomenal sales total is the second biggest debut of 2011 so far after Lady GaGa's Born This Way, which posted first-week numbers of 215,000 back in May.
Previous chart champion Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds now slips down to the runner-up spot ahead of Michael Bublé's Christmas album at three, Doo Wops & Hooligans by Bruno Mars, which climbs to four from last week's nine, and Kelly Clarkson's new album Stronger at five.
X Factor champion Matt Cardle's debut album Letters slips from two to six in its second week on the chart, Adele's 21 drops out of the top five for the first time in 40 weeks of release at eight and former number one The Ultimate Collection by Steps trips six to nine.
New entries in the shape of Bad As Me by Tom Waits and Message To You by Army trio The Soldiers fill spots ten and 11, while 12th place this week goes to James Morrison and The Awakening, which is down six.
Example boosts seven up the chart to 16 with Playing In The Shadows, as Daniel O'Donnell and Katy Perry drop out of the best-sellers by falling ten together to 17 and 18 with The Ultimate Collection and Teenage Dream.
Kasabian's Velociraptor! completes the top 20 after falling six from 14, Caro Emerald re-enters the chart at 21 with Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor and Britain's Got Talent runner-up Ronan Parke makes an underwhelming arrival with his self-titled debut at 22.

Professor Green has scored his first UK singles chart number one with Emeli Sandé collaboration 'Read All About It'.
The Hackney-born rapper's fifth studio release sold over 153,000 copies in its first week, just 1% less than the total achieved by 2011's fastest-selling single so far, 'What Makes You Beautiful' by One Direction.
This week's runner-ups Labrinth and Tinie Tempah also post impressive seven-day sales of 115,000 copies for their latest team-up 'Earthquake', while previous number one 'We Found Love' by Rihanna and Calvin Harris settles in at three.
Elsehwere, Kelly Clarkson boosts two to four with 'Mr Know It All' and Charlene Soraia dips to six with The Calling favourite 'Wherever You Will Go'

Florence + the Machine have returned to the top of the UK albums chart with their sophomore LP Ceremonials.
The Florence Welch-fronted collective shifted 90,000 copies of their latest release to bump Coldplay's mega-selling fifth effort Mylo Xyloto into second place.
Professor Green follows his singles chart success by launching his second studio album At Your Inconvenience to three, while the self-titled debut from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Michael Bublé's Christmas record drop two apiece to finish the top five.
Veteran tenor Alfie Boe celebrates his best ever UK chart performance with Alfie at six, as the new entries continue further down with Rizzle Kicks and their debut studio album Stereo Typical at nine and the Manic Street Preachers, who grab their ninth Top 10 hit with National Treasures: The Complete Singles at ten.
Elsewhere, Doo Wops & Hooligans by Bruno Mars and Matt Cardle's Letters crash a mighty seven and six places respectively to 11 and 12, finishing ahead of Justin Bieber's festive album Under The Mistletoe, a new entry at 13.

Susan Boyle has collected her third consecutive UK album chart number one with Someone To Watch Over Me.
The Britain's Got Talent veteran outperformed a climbing Michael Bublé and his Christmas record to snatch the top spot from Florence + the Machine, who are are at three this week with Ceremonials.
New entries Sticks + Stones by Cher Lloyd and Battleground by The Wanted complete the top five, Coldplay slip four to six with Mylo Xyloto and Dutch conductor André Rieu debuts at seven with his Johann Strauss Orchestra record And The Waltz Goes On.
Alfie Boe slips out of the Top 10 after one week with Alfie, which is down six to 12, while the new entries continue with Birdy's self-titled debut album at 13, Pink Floyd best-of collection A Foot In The Door at 14 and Simon & Garfunkel's Greatest Hits at 16. Professor Green's At Your Inconvenience nestles in between the latter two new entries at 15 after dropping from last week's three.
Also slipping are Matt Cardle and Rizzle Kicks, who grab the last spots in the Top 20 by falling seven and 11 respectively with Letters and Stereo Typical.

The Canadian singer's festive opus leapfrogged Jukebox by JLS and Snow Patrol's Fallen Empires, both of which outperformed him in the midweek update, to take the title by a sales margin of less than 1%.
Meanwhile, Coldplay shoot two to four with their former chart-topper Mylo Xyloto, Drake completes the top five with his new LP Take Care and outgoing number one Someone To Watch Over Me by Susan Boyle dips down to six.
Ed Sheeran is up to seven from last week's ten with +, while Adele also climbs one place to eight with 21, which has now spent 43 weeks on the chart.
However, Florence + the Machine's Ceremonials drops six places from last week's three to take it to nine, while The Waltz Goes On by André Rieu & His Johann Strauss Orchestra also falls three places to round out the Top 10.

The Bajan star fought off strong debuts from Flo Rida's 'Good Feeling' and One Direction's 'Gotta Be You' to keep her Calvin Harris-team up at pole position.
Rihanna has now overtaken Adele as the artist to have spent the longest time at number one in 2011, with a total of six weeks between 'We Found Love' and her January release 'What's My Name?'.
The 21 singer previously held the title after 'Someone Like You' topped the chart for five weeks over February and March.
Further down the chart, JLS drop six to eight with 'Take A Chance On Me', Professor Green's Emeli Sandé collaboration 'Read All About It' slips to nine from four and Christina Perri's 'Jar Of Hearts' leaps back into the bestsellers at ten after finishing at 17 last week.

Rihanna has achieved a sixth week at number one on the UK singles chart with Calvin Harris collaboration 'We Found Love'.
The 23-year-old emerged victorious from "the closest-fought chart battle of 2011" with Olly Murs and his track 'Dance With Me Tonight', which finishes in second place after leading the midweek update.
Rihanna has now become the first female artist to achieve the chart double twice in one year with two different releases, after her sixth studio LP Talk That Talk landed at number one on the UK album chart.
Aside from Murs, DJ Avicci and Kelly Rowland both manage high-charting new entries this week, as their respective tracks 'Levels' and 'Down For Whatever' debut at four and six.
Rihanna makes her second appearance in the Top 10 at nine as a featured artist of Drake's 'Take Care', which is up from its previous finish at 12. X Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson completes the best-sellers with her debut single 'Nothing's Real But Love' at ten.
