BRITAIN’S Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle has been asked to appear on Oprah Winfrey’s show — setting her up for a huge US career.
The 48-year-old has become a worldwide phenomenon — with her performance on the ITV1 hit viewed more than 12 million times on website YouTube.
Susan was filmed for a string of US TV shows yesterday — joking around singing into a brush at home in Blackburn, Scotland.
And when told of the offer from chat show giant Oprah, the warbler said: “Wow! Put me down for it. I’m shaking!”
BGT judge Simon Cowell, 49, said later: “If she went on Oprah I think there’s every chance Susan will have the number one album in America.” Susan is favourite after singing I Dreamed A Dream from musical Les Miserables.
But BGT judge Amanda Holden, 38, vowed not to “spoil” her with a makeover.
She said: “I won’t let Simon make her go to his dentist and I certainly won’t be letting her go to his hairdresser.
“I think she needs to stay exactly as she is because that’s the reason we love her.
“The minute we spoil her by turning her into a glamourpuss is going to be when it’s spoilt.”
But when asked about a makeover, Susan told one US show: “I’d like that!”
From The Sun
This is just the 1st show.. it is won already???? she is now so famous around the country and the world that she is going to get the votes to win and we haven't seen everyone yet
Hmm.. she might have peaked too soon. But the way she's turned into a star in less than a week is absolutely incredible.
The guy playing the trumpet and the young boy singing the Michael Jackson song were the only acts tonight who have a very slim chance of going much further in the competition.
Simon Cowell has reportedly predicted that a young Britain's Got Talent star could challenge Susan Boyle's chances of winning the show.
Shaheen Jafargholi, 12, received a standing ovation from the audience and praise from the judges when he auditioned for the ITV1 series.
Jafargholi originally attempted to impress the panel with a performance of The Zutons' song 'Valerie', but switched to Michael Jackson's 'Who's Loving You' following encouragement from Cowell. The scenes will be broadcast in tonight's episode.
Cowell has already publicly dismissed claims that this year's result is a foregone conclusion following Boyle's international exposure.
An insider told the Daily Star: "Everyone is obsessed with Susan, but this lad is great and Simon thinks he could be her rival. It's not a one-horse race just yet."
The source added: "The Jacko song was perfect and Shaheen is another act who could make the final."
That guy who played the sax was amazing but how funny was the guy dressed as Darth Vadar.
