I live in Kent where it is warmer than the lakes, but they have a far greater variety of flowers in bloom than we do.
did Julie kill herself, suicide with overdose?
Even though Julie had terminal cancer, I thought that the police would still have been called for a sudden death, instead of just allowing her body to be taken to George's.
Yes that is true, but in that case they probably should not have told us Julie's body had been brought back to the funeral parlour, I doubt they had carried out the autopsy already, and now that they have raised the question of an overdose, an autopsy would confirm or deny this. I did not think that the scene with the paramedics was well handled, it looked they like just packed up and left Eileen with her body.
It is not a sudden nor unexplained death when the patient is terminally ill with cancer and with a diagnosed short time to live. I don’t think a Post Mortem is required as it is known that she was terminally ill. A death certificate needs to be issued however by a doctor and the Coroner informed. It is called a post mortem in the UK and an autopsy in the US. I will check my facts though . Post Mortems are carried out to discover the cause of death.
Did we know how much time Julie had left? I thought weeks if not months. If that is the case it could be argued that her death was sudden and maybe unexplained. Every now and again we hear of someone being charged with assisting a suicide when a terminally ill loved one dies before they were expected to. In those cases I am guessing a post mortem must have been carried out to determine the actual cause of death. Thinking about it now this is the situation that Eileen might find herself in.
I thought Julie's death seemed a bit rushed, as if, it in itself was not important, but that it is being used as a vehicle to take us to an after story.
Murder? That is a big jump from assisted dying. - For it to be murder she would have to have to given Julie the tablets against her will. They could never ever prove that. - Soap's always feel the need to be over dramatic.
