It is not a sudden nor unexplained death when the patient is terminally ill with cancer and with a diagnosed short time to live. I don’t think a Post Mortem is required as it is known that she was terminally ill. A death certificate needs to be issued however by a doctor and the Coroner informed. It is called a post mortem in the UK and an autopsy in the US. I will check my facts though . Post Mortems are carried out to discover the cause of death.Quote:
