I thought this story was partly to show that the hospital was understaffed and overworked. It is a well used soap trope for friends and families to harass staff and complain that no one is telling them anything. Sometimes staff do not know what the problem is yet and are still trying to get a diagnosis. Should they leave the patient on the operating table to die while they stand around chatting with the family. Hospital scenes are almost written to a well used recipe.Quote:
