Samia Smith has said that she thinks her Coronation Street alter ego Maria was happiest when going out with Tyrone (Alan Halsall).
Speaking to What's On TV, the actress claimed that the fictional pair "really loved each other" when they were a couple five years ago.
She said: "[The only right man for Maria is] Tyrone. She had a peaceful life with him. They really loved each other and he made her laugh - although he did cheat on her with Fiz (Jennie McAlpine)."
Smith added: "But as an actress it's much more interesting if Maria's relationships fail. At least they've all been different and none of them have been boring."
What a load of garbage, I thought Liam was the love of her life! Guess she will be featuring more in storylines again, don't like her much :(

CORRIE legend Bill Roache will be honoured at a Guinness World Records ceremony next month when he officially becomes the longest-serving actor in a TV soap.
Bill, who has played Ken Barlow for nearly 50 years since the Street's first episode, is due to set the record on November 22.
The 78-year old will travel to New York, where he will meet Don Hastings from US soap As The World Turns, the man who will be giving up the title.
Viewers saw Bill appear with screen dad Frank Barlow, played by Frank Pemberton, in the first episode on December 9, 1960.
Only Don, who portrayed Bob Hughes in his CBS show since October 1960 without a break, has played the same character longer.
Bill is set to pass the 76-year-old because As The World Turns set in the fictional town of Oakdale, Illinois, ended in September after 13,858 episodes.
The proud Corrie star said: "Guinness World Records have been in touch and want to fly me over to New York for some sort of ceremony with Don Hastings." And Bill insisted he had NO plans to retire. He said: "I always say that, while I can still do it and while they still want me, retiring isn't an option.
"I've met the Queen on numerous occasions, I've been to Buckingham Palace, Downing Street and Chequers. I've played golf with top professionals and I've written two books. Those things have enriched my life.
He enjoyed another show highlight this year when his son Linus Roache joined the cast as Ken's long-lost son Lawrence. Bill said: "The show is character-based and if the characters are good, you can't go wrong."

Coronation Street star Beverley Callard has revealed that she would love Anthony Hopkins to film a guest stint on the soap.
The actress, who plays Weatherfield favourite Liz McDonald, admitted that she dreams of one day filming scenes with the acclaimed actor on the cobbles.
Hopkins has already confirmed that he is an avid watcher of the ITV1 show, as he once said in an interview that "life isn't worth living if I miss an episode".
Speaking to Inside Soap's Coronation Street Special, Callard commented: "I know the actor Anthony Hopkins is a massive fan, so I'd love him to be in it for a while - he'd have to be involved with Liz somehow."
She added: "Can you imagine that? It'd be fantastic!"
Meanwhile, asked to name her favourite Corrie character, the star replied: "My all-time favourite is Betty - she's the queen of the street in my opinion. [Actress] Betty Driver is a real phenomenon. She has fabulous skin and is word-perfect on set.
"I know there's been talk in the papers about Betty's hot pot being taken off the menu at the Rovers, but Betty wouldn't be happy about it and neither would Liz - she's not much of a cook herself!"

Malcolm Hebden has revealed that his Coronation Street character Norris Cole has a huge following among children.
Speaking to Inside Soap's Coronation Street Special, the actor admitted that he is baffled by the number of letters he receives from young people who seem to love watching the Weatherfield busybody.
Hebden explained: "For some unknown reason, Norris is immensely popular with children, though I never understand why. Is he the granddad they've always wanted to poke fun at?
"He's always wrong, but most of my letters are from young people, which is lovely. I think they feel safe with him because he's a loser!"
Meanwhile, asked to name his own favourite character, the star replied: "At the moment, I'd have to say it's Mary Taylor. Working with Patti Clare, who plays her, is an absolute joy. We're very good friends now."
Hebden recently confessed that he is unsure of his future at Corrie due to the devastating tram crash which will claim lives on the cobbles in December.

Former Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien has predicted that her character Sarah Platt would have stood by mum Gail throughout her prison ordeal.
Gail - played by Helen Worth - was jailed for several weeks earlier this year as she awaited trial over the suspected murder of her husband Joe McIntyre.
Although not everyone on the Street believed Gail's protestations of innocence, she was ultimately found not guilty back in June.
Speaking to Inside Soap, O'Brien commented: "I can't believe Gail's been in jail! If Sarah had been there, she'd have fought for her.
"They love each other to bits, even though they've always had a stormy relationship. She'd always be on her mum's side."
Reflecting on her Weatherfield stint, she added: "I loved every minute of being in Corrie. It brought me a different lifestyle and I met so many new people - which is what it's all about for me, really. But leaving was the hardest decision I ever made."
O'Brien made her final appearance as Sarah in December 2007 and is currently competing in Strictly Come Dancing.

Yet again another has been who wants to hear the sound of her own voice. The rubbish thats printed in Inside Soap to fill up a few column inches.
-
Well she'll be needing a job when Scritly and panto season is finished.

Kym Marsh has revealed that she would like to play a "psychotic" character after Coronation Street.
The actress, who plays Michelle Connor in the ITV1 soap, admitted that she wants to take on a completely different role just like former co-star Rob James-Collier, who now stars in Downton Abbey.
According to STV, she said: "It's good seeing my old co-star Rob James-Collier in one of the starring roles. He plays a gay footman, which is obviously a far cry from his Corrie character Liam Connor. He's even shared a screen kiss with a guy!
"If I ever left Corrie, I'd want to play someone completely different, too - maybe someone a bit psychotic, or a part where I had to gain or lose weight. It would be great fun!"
Speaking of her new storyline with Alison King (Carla Connor), she said: "As Corrie fans will know, Carla Connor has been hitting the bottle recently and is effectively running the factory by herself - but not very well! So, this week, she turns to my character, Michelle, for help. In the past we've had lots of on-screen screaming matches but, for once, we're being quite civil - for now!
"Ali King, who plays Carla, is just lovely, and as we haven't had many scenes together over the past six months, we're really enjoying working together. We've been having a right old giggle in between takes in Underworld!"

More ramblinss from Ms Marsh. She really does spout some nonsense. She seems to be labouring under the misapprehension that she is a great actress

God loves a tryer but hates a pest Alan. and she is just begging for any role she can.
