Singer Susan Boyle has complained that she looked overweight on the first episode of the new series of Britain's Got Talent.
The 48-year-old from West Lothian told The Mirror that she was not happy with her appearance when she watched the show in her council home.
Boyle said: "They say that television makes you look fat and it certainly did.
"I looked like a garage. It was mortifying to see and a bit of a shock. I didn't realise I could reduce people to tears and I hope it wasn't because of that."
She added: "I'm proud to be part of the show. It really is a dream come true. Everyone is very nice and it's lovely when all the kids stop me in the street to congratulate me."
Boyle sang Les Miserables number 'I Dreamed A Dream' on the programme, which was watched by an average 10.52 million viewers, the highest of any show on Easter Saturday.
I did not think she was fat. :nono: I wonder whether she is going to change her hairdresser now though :)
love watching ant and dec their so funny
A 47-year-old church volunteer from West Lothian has become an unlikely overnight singing sensation with millions watching her perform online.
Susan Boyle, from Blackburn, stunned judges on ITV's Britain's Got Talent with her performance of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables on Saturday.
Since then Hollywood actress Demi Moore has joined the legions of fans who have voiced their support on the internet.
Ms Boyle has now become the bookies' favourite to win the talent show.
Ms Boyle, who told viewers she had "never been kissed", said she had always wanted to be a singer.
She said: "I entered the competition because I wanted to have a chance at my singing.
"I found it very nerve-wracking to begin with but once I settled down and began to sing, I thought that the audience accepted me a bit more. Then I sort of relaxed and began to enjoy it.
Ms Boyle, who is currently unemployed, is a keen church-goer and community worker who is well-known for her Karaoke performances.
She said: "It all began for me at age 12, when I used to sing in choirs and school concerts. Then after that when I got older I was singing in clubs."
Her performance on Saturday has received more than 5m hits on You Tube.
Among those who have clicked to watch are Ghost star Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher.
Her entry read: "You saw it made me teary! RT @aplusk: this just made my night. http://digg.com/d1oVwl"
After her audition performance at Glasgow's Clyde Auditorium Ms Boyle is now tipped to beat 75,000 other applicants to the Britain's Got Talent prize, a chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.

TEENAGE soprano Elliot Evans could see his Britain’s Got Talent dream wrecked — after his voice broke.
The 13-year-old’s high-pitched warbling helped his family band Good Evans win a standing ovation on ITV’s launch show last week.
But that was recorded weeks ago — and for the last fortnight he’s been a baritone.
Mum Estelle said: “Elliot's voice started to get a bit croaky, then all of a sudden it dropped. At first he couldn’t sing at all. But then he got his voice back — a lot lower.
“We started practising our next number Oh Happy Day but he couldn’t hit the high notes. It’s a shame as we had a great routine.
“We’ve had to change it now.”
Viewers saw Simon Cowell heap praise on the schoolboy and even suggest he ditch Estelle, dad Giles and sisters Georgia and Olivia to go solo.
Their impressive version of the hit I’ll Be There sent them through to the next round.
FORMER Britain’s Got Talent star Faryl Smith, 13, says boy dancers Flawless are her favourite act so far this year. Faryl snubbed Simon Cowell’s offer of a record deal so she could remain a classical singer.
That is a shame, he really sounded so good :( Hope they can get a lot further still though
FABIA Cerra’s burlesque strip has landed Britain’s Got Talent in hot water with Ofcom.
The telly watchdog is considering whether to investigate the ITV1 show after receiving about 40 complaints from shocked viewers when the dancer revealed her curves wearing just a basque and stockings.
During her routine Fabia, 35, unveiled her huge breasts which were covered by tiny red nipple tassels – one of which fell off midway through her performance.
Her giant assets were covered by flags digitally added to the show before it aired on Saturday night.
Loud-mouthed judges Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden were left speechless by her raunchy act.
All three put her through to the next round, with Piers exclaiming: “You are my kind of woman."
It’s now thought the show could have breached the broadcasting code over taste and decency.
But ITV has defended its decision to air the audition.
A spokesman said: “Fabia's performance was given careful consideration by ITV, the producers Talkback Thames and compliance licensee Channel Television.
"As a result, the segment was edited in order to obscure any inappropriate detail and it was felt that the overall effect was comedic rather than titillating."
You could not see anything, fgs, what are they on about? Have they not got a sense of humour
Billing it as "Susan Sings For America," CBS' Early Show interviewed Scottish instant-singing-sensation Susan Boyle this morning. The 47 year-old sang an a capella version of "I Dreamed a Dream" via satellite from her hometown of Blackburn, Scotland. It was, of course, lovely.
Dressed in a simple white dress, Boyle was as charming as she seemed on Britain's Got Talent. "The ones who were mean to me, are now nice to me," she said referring to skeptics who didn't think a person not as glamorously packaged as your average pop star could wow audiences with pure ability and emotion.
In an interesting touch, the Early Show had Patti LuPone, who originated the performance of "Dream" in Les Miserables, on the phone to offer both emotional and technical praise to Boyle. LuPone talking about how "difficult" the song is to sing, "especially at the end," referring to its rafter-shaking climax. LuPone congratulated Boyle on her "pluck." Asked by co-host Harry Smith what LuPone's compliments meant to her, Boyle said simply, "That'll do."
It is exactly that simplicity and directness that has helped to melt away any cynicism and irony that usually attaches to an instant pop phenomenon. Smith and co-host Maggie Rodriguez had to ask inevitable questions such as "Do you understand" that instant fame, and "Where did the courage come from?"
Boyle said her determination to enter the British TV competition, and her performance, was "a tribute to my mother," with whom Boyle lived until she died recently.
Once again, there was talk -- among the hosts, and by LuPone -- of crying at witnessing Boyle's unadorned, powerful talent. And once again, everyone seemed to be speaking from the heart. Most of all Susan Boyle herself.

She is famous in the US now also
Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore were twittering about Susan Boyle :p
*Fabia - I didn't find it hilarious or anything at all, horrible even though the flags were there IMO.
*Flawless - Amazing! Would like to see them in the final. Similar to last year's Flava and *it will come to me - shall edit then!* but still as stunning! :cheer:
*Elliot (family group)- Amazing voice, would like to see him go solo though tbh..
*Susan Boyle - Wow.. That was a shocker  Loved how everyone's faces just dropped!
*Father&son act - Was I the only one who didn't find this funny? I sort of smiled but I didn't think it was anything hilarious? Good on them though!
*The swaying/tree man - Now that was hilarious teamed up with Ant & Dec :rotfl:
