The Shirley and Denise scenes were stand out brilliant.
Carmel do you call yourself a friend?
When the kids called Dots flee ridden cat 'Dave' for some reason I thought of "Only Fools." :D
The Babe/Mick scenes were a bit rinse and repeat.
Diane Parrish is doing really well in making Denise so sympathetic at the moment. I think she could have appeared harsh and soulless if being portrayed by a different actress.
I can understand that her friends and acquaintances are deeply shocked that Denise went into hospital and had a healthy baby but chose not to bring him home, but it would be nice if people like Carmel would at least listen to her reasons before making a judgment.
Phil's obviously not 100% sure he's made the correct decision. That's realistic in the circumstances of course, but in soapland the secret troubled look is usually foreshadowing something. :p
At least tammyy2j's above question about Denise's family being able to get custody has been answered. I didn't understand when Denise mentioned something along the lines of Phil taking the baby from the hospital. He's got absolutely no rights unless a court orders a DNA test, so could be done for kidnap if he took him. In fact, he'd have never even got near the baby without Denise's permission in real life.
For some reason I thought Babe had put cannabis in the coffee. :D
I think this story is being done fairly gently and very well. Phil's look got me, he's not convinced, maybe he thinks Sharon doesn't want a baby.. or wouldn't want Denise's baby.
Babe needs to go. Is a tram going to fall on her and squash her with just her shoes sticking out? please!
Did you see the hand of the rat handler? :D

Babe is getting to be a complete joke in the same way Phelan is in Corrie. She can break the law with impunity it seems. Kidnapping, blackmail and now possibly poisoning the adult population of Albert Square and no-one does anything.
Mind you, no-one cares much about law-breakers in EE.
No, just the sadness when she spoke about not having another baby of her own, but it wasn't anything that's even been a thought before now really. If she'd been on the point of looking at infertility treatment last year (It's not been a hugely stable relationship, as they did nearly get divorced) then the longing might be more genuine, but it felt a bit 'oh well never mind'.. there are other options but Phil having been so ill, there weren't realistically options for anything else.
There's a lot of heartache for Denise if they take the baby...
All those future possible storylines that could happen when the baby comes back 17/18 years later... But they didn't do much with Grant's baby!

I don't think anyone would eat or drink in the pub or cafe again but of course they all will
Was expecting a Mick and Whitney kissing, duff duff. The level I've now dropped to with EE was paying more attention to see if Ronnie was motionless in the casket , rather than the emotion of the scene with Jack.
the carters treat whitney better than their kids and she still wants mick
It was quite a shock to see dead Ronnie (looking like Sleeping Beauty) in her casket.
I really enjoyed the scene between Phil and Michelle. It's good to know Phil Mitchell is capable of suffering survivor's guilt!
The scene between Denise and Kim was also very well played.
I wonder who Phil was speaking to at the end? It seemed to me to be someone significant.
As I've said before when this cropped up, given Whitney's past and that she's currently feeling vulnerable it's not at all surprising that she again appears to have subconsciously latched on to an older man who's very supportive and makes her feel safe. There's an awful lot of chemistry between Mick and Whitney, but I hope any romantic feelings stay strictly one-sided.
Didn't think it was necessary to see Ronnie lying in the casket , added nothing to the scenes with Jack.
P.S Thought I detected a slight finger twitch from Ronnie on the distance shot with Jack :D
Is Babe going to see Whitney in her PJ's coming out of Mick & Linda's bedroom, hope not , that scenario has been done so many times before ...yawn
I'm just unhappy jack spoilt, the good dinosaur lol
Glynis Barber was awful in those episodes and Aunt Sal (Anna Karen was amazing tonight.) Is Danny Dyer just going through the motions at the moment?
The scenes with Kim and Denise were excellent and its great to see a different side to Kim.
Having 2 episodes of EastEnders in one night is too much soap and becomes a chore to watch.
Liked how Jack beat the crap out of Danny and Max was putting the tom sauce in his bacon sandwich. :D
aunt sal is not mitchell or related to roxy and ronnie
I noticed that too and I usually find her pretty good. I do think the scene where Glenda shrieked about her babies when she first saw the hearse was written as deliberately over-the-top and false in order to prove Aunt Sal's accusation of attention seeking correct.
I wonder if Glenda will really stick around? I'm not convinced she really wants Matthew or to help bring up her grandkids. Could Danny's lame extortion attempt have been part of some scheme they cooked up between them? :hmm:
Agreed. It was a hard-hitting scene and was played very well.
That was an excellent scene because there were several different levels to it. It was shocking (in that the beating went on for long), amusing (Max's nonchalant ketchup application), and also gave us some much needed insight into Max's state of mind.
I agree dazzle, I think Glenda and Danny are in it together as usual.
I wish someone would contact Charlie, Matthew's dad. He should at least know what's going on.
