CORRIE bosses have axed the little girl who plays Amy Barlow for a SIXTH actress.
Elle Mulvaney replaces Amber Chadwick as the six-year-old.
She will feature in dramatic scenes when her murderous mum Tracy Barlow returns to the Street for Blanche Hunt's funeral.
Sources say bosses decided the plot needed a "really good little actress".
The ITV1 soap has a habit of swapping actors and Tracy herself has been played by four actresses - with Kate Ford taking over in 2002.
Newborn Amy was played by Holly Bower in early 2004. Rebecca Pike did a 17-month stint until June 2005.
Louisa Morris then appeared for four months in the role before being replaced by Madison Hampson.
Amber played the part for nearly four years.
A source said: "Amber was lovely but Elle is a very natural little actress."
The funeral scenes in May see a graveside fight between Tracy and Becky McDonald.

Lets hope that this one can actually speak and walk
oh thank god, it's taken them long enough! i don't care if she's only a kid, that little girl is completely vacant and is totally shown up by the other kids in the show like Simon and Josh.
Last week, Coronation Street bosses took the decision to recast the character of Amy Barlow.
Amber Chadwick has played the role for four years but rumour has it that producer Kim Crothwer had been wanting to switch actresses for some time. Chadwick's parents, however, apparently convinced bosses to give her another chance.
The switch, however, has now been confirmed.
Soap newcomer Ella Mulvaney will make her screen debut as Amy around the time of Blanche Hunt's funeral, which also marks the return of her screen mum, Corrie superbitch Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford).
Here's the first picture of Ella on location with co-star Alex Bain (Simon Barlow).
She looks a lot more cheerful than Amber ever did :)
Yeah I agree. About time ha. Amy was a bit.. um boring.. she's a bit shy I think (the actress). Looking forward to a new Amy. If she is any good as Simon is then yay :cheer:.
Simon is just the best ever.. I don't want him to ever grow up. He's tooooo cute!!
Coronation Street series editor Louise Sutton has admitted that she feels "a responsibility" when recasting young actors.
The serial recently replaced Amber Chadwick with Elle Mulvaney for the part of Amy Barlow.
Sutton told Radio Times: "When a child actor starts very young, you never know how they're going to turn out. When you're casting a 3 or 4-year-old, you really just ask yourself, 'Can they walk, can they talk and do they look the part?'
"But there comes a point when you're trying to tell stories featuring a young actor that are just too much for a child under 6. The brilliant Alex Bain, who plays Simon Barlow, is 8, but he plays a 6-year-old."
She continued: "It would be really odd if the character changed from one scene to the next, but as long as the character is off screen for a bit, it's weird for a couple of weeks and then it's accepted.
"Personally, I feel a responsibility not just for the child actor's career but also for their self-worth. It can be seen as rejection at an emotionally precarious time in their lives."
She is a lot better :D
I didnt know this was the 6th actress to play her!
Coronation Street’s Steve McDonald and Tracy Barlow are set for yet another harrowing storyline, as they manage to lose their only daughter Amy Barlow during a day trip to Blackpool.
The usually warring couple agree to call a truce and will treat their child to a family day out at the beachside destination, however their dreams of an idyllic trip will be ruined when Amy (Elle Mulvaney) vanishes while playing in the resort’s arcades.
After sneaking away from their nosy neighbours in Weatherfield to spend the day together as a family, treacherous Tracy and Steve – who is married to bolshie barmaid Becky McDonald (Katherine Kelly) – will be terrified their youngster has been kidnapped.
While the warring duo are reunited with Amy in a matter of hours, the worst is yet to come when they realise their car has been towed away in the process.
However, when they accept they will have to spend the night in the bright lights of Blackpool, feisty femme fatale Tracy seizes the perfect opportunity to try it on with Steve.
A ‘Corrie’ insider told the Daily Star newspaper: “Steve’s left seriously sweating. He’s lied to Becky about where he is and then he has to spend the night with Tracy, who tries to get him in her bed,
“If Becky finds out, there will be hell to pay.”
what is it about Blackpool and Corrie, there's always a disaster!
Yes, he did. I just can't believe that Steve would be so stupid to go away with Tracey and not tell Becky
It is Steve McDonald we are talking about here.

Tourism chiefs in Blackpool are divided over news of a forthcoming Coronation Street storyline which will be set in the town.
Last week, it was revealed that Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) will soon pay a visit to the seaside resort with their daughter Amy, only to face a worrying time when she goes missing during their trip.
The new plot comes after Peter Barlow's young son Simon also briefly went missing in Blackpool after wandering off in the town last year.
Speaking of the upcoming story, StayBlackpool's Claire Smith told the Blackpool Gazette: "One half of me thinks any publicity is good publicity, but the other half of me thinks, 'Why do they keep losing children?' I think it gives the wrong impression, especially when we are trying to create a family friendly image."
However, Maxine Callow, cabinet member for tourism and regeneration on Blackpool Council, said that she was pleased to hear about the planned scenes.
She said: "It's the sort of publicity we could never ever buy as a council. Coronation Street have been very good servants to Blackpool over the years and this is wonderful free publicity for the town. If it's showing some wonderful shots of Blackpool, the new promenade and The Tower it will be fantastic.
"If they've got this [lost child] storyline, it's not just because they are in Blackpool, they could re-write it and put it anywhere."
Natalie Wyatt, head of VisitBlackpool, added: "We work very closely with the writers from Coronation Street, trying to where possible influence the storyline. At the end of the day, it's not real life, it's a soap and we've no control over them. The fact they are using Blackpool we see as a positive."

SCHEMING Corrie killer Tracy Barlow will be accused of poisoning daughter Amy to try to win back her ex Steve McDonald in a sensational plot.
Amy, seven, will contract a mysterious illness, forcing dad Steve (Simon Gregson) and mum Tracy (Kate Ford) to rush her to the doctor for tests.
But medics are baffled - and Steve's new wife Becky (Katherine Kelly) becomes convinced Amy (Elle Mulvaney) is being harmed by her own mum.
A source said of the big May plotline: "Becky loves Amy and can't bear to see her suffering. She also can't bear seeing Steve and Tracy together.
"She is jealous and she quickly realises that Tracy is feeding off the attention Steve is giving them both."
Becky confronts Tracy - and the pair row furiously.
Becky calls her rival the world's worst mum.
She reminds everyone how Tracy tried to sell Amy to Roy and Hayley Cropper when she was born, and how she missed years of Amy's life while banged up for boyfriend Charlie Stubbs' murder.
The source continued: "Becky can handle herself but Tracy is a dangerous enemy to make.
"If Steve believes Tracy over Becky, it could signal the end of their marriage."

Looks like she could be liviving up to her other nickname. TOXIC TRACY
Steve puts his marriage to Becky at risk on Coronation Street next month when he secretly heads to Blackpool with Tracy and Amy.
A tricky situation for the pub landlord begins this Friday when Tracy hears that Steve and Becky have planned a day out with Max. Deciding to cause some trouble, Tracy suddenly agrees to lift Steve's ban on seeing Amy - starting with a day trip which will clash with his plans for Max.
After struggling with the dilemma, Steve decides to put Amy first for once and agrees to visit Blackpool with her and Tracy. Before leaving, he lies to Becky by claiming that they'll have to cancel their family trip because he has to work.
Later, as Steve arrives in the seaside resort with Tracy and their daughter, the atmosphere is strained but he eventually starts to relax and enjoys the day. However, events begin to conspire against him when Amy wanders off, leading to a panic.
Steve and Tracy later find Amy safe and well, but when they decide to head back to Steve's cab, they discover it's been stolen. A shocked Steve is then left with no choice but to stay overnight with Tracy.
After Amy has been put to bed that night, the wine flows and Tracy makes a move on Steve by going in for a kiss. Will Steve respond? And how long will it take before Becky discovers that he's lied to her about his whereabouts?

Coronation Street star Anne Kirkbride became upset last week while filming violent scenes for the show, it has been claimed.
The actress, who plays Deirdre Barlow in the ITV1 soap, is said to have found it difficult to watch Becky *McDonald (Katherine Kelly) smash Deirdre's living room up with a hammer.
According to the Sunday Mirror, she said: "Look what they are doing to my house... look what they are doing to it. It's so horrible. I can't bear to see this," and was taken to the green room by concerned co-stars to calm down.
"Anne is known to be emotional but these scenes *really got to her and she obviously found it very hard to handle seeing the Barlows' house being trashed," a source said. "It's only a set, but in fairness she has spent a large part of her life in that front room.
"She was in a terrible way, absolutely *wailing her eyes out. These were some of the most violent scenes many can remember. In all Anne had to take about four or five breaks."
A Corrie spokesman said: "We are unaware of any incident disrupting filming."
The scenes will air next month when Becky launches an attack on rival Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford). Kelly had to wear special safety clothing while filming the plot.
Writers have apparently taken inspiration from The Shining, as Becky shouts "Heeere's Becky!" when smashing through the Barlows' front door. "It sends a chill down the spine," the source added.
Kirkbride allegedly collapsed in tears while on a photoshoot last year.
The poor luvvie...
i once got lost in blackpool !!! when i was a kid
Steve McDonald surely he should be up for dad of the year, bless him, he tries his hardest but hes just one of lifes losers!
Coronation Street star Kate Ford has insisted that her character Tracy Barlow is genuinely frightened when her daughter Amy falls ill in a forthcoming storyline.
Amy is expected to start feeling unwell in a plot which airs in May, leading to a mystery as doctors try to determine what could be wrong with her.
Earlier this month, reports suggested that Tracy's arch-nemesis Becky McDonald (Katherine Kelly) will suspect her of poisoning the child as the story progresses, convinced that she has launched a twisted plan to secure the attention of Amy's father Steve (Simon Gregson).
However, in an interview with All About Soap, Ford appeared to dismiss the theory, claiming that Amy's welfare is always Tracy's top priority.
Ford explained: "She's terrified. There is no hidden agenda - she is genuinely scared for her daughter. But of course, she's quietly pleased that it's bringing her and Steve closer.
"Tracy is capable of a lot of bad things, however there is a heart in there. First and foremost, her thoughts are for Amy's wellbeing."
The actress added that, despite their recent rows, Tracy still believes she has a romantic future with Steve.
She said: "I think in her head, she plans to be married to him within a year. Tracy's prepared to play the long game."

so why is the actress off, that amy is still in hospital? kinda stupid amy missing her parents wedding
Who stays in hospital with a broken arm anyway? Little Jack was in hospital for less time when he lost his leg!! I wonder whether when Amy returns it will be a different actress? I know the scriptwriters think we're stupid, but unless it was an unplanned "sharp exit", they could surely have come up with a better back story than this!
It was a compound fracture of the elbow, my nephew had the same injury and needed an extended stay in hospital after having to have surgery to correct the fracture .... even years after he cannot fully extend the arm, it is always slightly bent. Maybe Elle Mulvany needed time off for school exams as she is 16 so they needed to have her absent???
did tracy or steve even visit her to say bye before holidaying?
amy is too young to be left alone in hospital
Amy pregnant at 14 years old ...
https://metro.co.uk/2018/11/26/coron...aRWjKilpS98PgM
Oh really! That'll be novel.....I can't remember Corrie ever having done an under age pregnancy storyline before...apart from Sarah and Faye that is.
by simon or aadhi?
Article says not definite yet whether existing character or they introduce a new one but Aadi will feature as possible romantic link ..they rarely have had anything to do so far but then the twins have not been seen much lately so could do with a storyline where as Simon is wanting to go off sailing ..
Hopefully the writers will come up with an original angle on this type of storyline. I'm just hoping they will explore the consequences of getting pregnant at such a young age, and that they follow it up properly. Faye's pregnancy was disposed of pretty quickly, with the baby going to live with her dad's family and (as far as I know) never seen again.
tyler is the daddy
This is going to get messy..
