Probably, I would say it's definitely him phoning.
It mentioned a call from someone she doesn't know. So I'm thinking someone from the jail or institution where Mick is being held or even his social worker. It will be to tell her Mick wants to contact her though, or Mick wants her to arrange for him to see Luc.

Who is the man? :hmm:
Home and Away's Irene Roberts has some very concerning news to share next month as she reveals that her villainous son Mick Jennings wants custody of baby Luc.
A big new storyline twist sees Irene's behaviour take a secretive turn as she becomes troubled by a series of unwanted messages that she's receiving.
Although Irene (Lynne McGranger) is reluctant to confide in anyone about what's going on, Olivia Fraser Richards soon discovers that Mick is the mystery person who's bothering her.
Even more surprising is the revelation that Irene has already been secretly visiting Mick and he's demanding access to his young daughter.

Irene tells Olivia (Raechelle Banno) that it's best to keep Ash, Kat, Leah and VJ in the dark as it's sure to blow over, but Olivia later realises just how serious things are when she answers a call on Irene's phone.
Olivia finds herself talking to Mick's lawyer and is surprised to discover just how far he's taking his quest for custody.
Under pressure from Olivia, a sheepish Irene finally breaks the news to the others that Mick wants access to Luc and is even petitioning to do a paternity test to prove that he's the youngster's father.
VJ (Matt Little) and Ash (George Mason) are particularly horrified by the news and vow to put a stop to it straight away, but just how easy will that be?

Not to worry, Perdita. Thank goodness Lynne is just off to the UK to do pantomime over the Christmas period once again. She will be straight back to Summer Bay when the season is over. Last time she did panto, they wrote her out of H&A when she was kidnapped by Mick & she disappeared for a month or so. It will be interesting to see what the reason will be for her absence this time (with filming so far in advance, this will not be till at least a few months into next year in Aust).
Once again, with all the headlines yesterday about her 'departure', Lynne had to go online to clarify things:
The Digital Spy article:
Home and Away star Lynne McGranger responds to claims of a shock exit for Irene Roberts.
Home and Away legend Lynne McGranger has hit back at claims that she's leaving the show.
The actress, who plays Summer Bay favourite Irene Roberts, has made headlines today (November 13) with reports that she's bowing out from her role after 24 years.
Fortunately, the "news" was just as much of a surprise to Lynne herself, who took to her Twitter page and set the record straight by clarifying that she's going nowhere.......
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/home...s-exit-claims/
...and this is the actual TV Week article that Daily Mail were referring to (& added their own sensationalist headline to!):
Is Irene Leaving Summer Bay?
Lynne McGranger Sets The Record Straight Once And For All About Quitting Home And Away.
Fans of Home and Away may need to brace themselves - much loved character Irene is preparing to leave Summer Bay. Or rather, the actress who plays her, Lynne McGranger, is getting out of town - and the country.
"I get bored very easily," Lynne, 64, tells TV WEEK. "I'm one of those people who needs a bit of a change-up and something different."
When TV WEEK earlier this year reported Irene was leaving the Bay, upset fans assumed Lynne, who has been with H&A for more than two decades, was quitting the show.
Recently, those same rumours have resurfaced, much to Lynne's disbelief.
"I'm like, 'That was six months ago, people,'" she says. "Let it be."
However, Lynne is able to look on the bright side - fans really do care about Irene.
"At least people aren't saying, 'At least she's leaving,'" she says. "They're going, 'No, please don't.' That's nice."
In truth, Lynne is heading to the UK to do pantomime.
It's an annual pilgrimage for the veteran actress.
"I'm off to York to play the wicked fairy in Beauty And The Beast," she enthuses. "I'm really looking forward to it."
After filming emotional scenes involving her H&A character's son Mick, Lynne is excited about her panto role.
"It's physically demanding." she says. "We do 12 shows a week. And we rehearse it in about nine days.
"Ray Meagher [her H&A co-star, who plays Alf] always tells me I'm mad for still doing it. But I love it."
When she's back from the UK, Lynne will return to the Bay.
"Irene can be a polarising character," she says. "But it's when people don't care about you that you start packing your bags."
Lynne McGranger (Irene) gave this excellent interview on 'The Morning Show' today. She is Australia's longest running female soap star & talks about her approx. 25 years on the show, how Johnny Ruffo is going, her time doing panto in the UK (& confirms she will be returning to H&A), & a bit about the current custody storyline etc:

Home And Away shock confession: will Irene go to jail?
The Summer Bay favourite prepares to turn herself in to police.
https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebri...-confess-57150
It can be hard to keep a secret at the best of times. But for Irene, the shocking truth about her role in what happened to Bella's online groomer sends her into a downward spiral.
Standing tall, she bravely walks into the police station to confess everything. Will Irene go to jail?
In recent episodes of Home And Away, the former foster mum arrived home to find Bella (Courtney Miller) fighting off her unhinged online attacker Tommy (Adam Sollis). In a panic, Irene (Lynne McGranger) struck him over the head with a vase and grabbed Bella.
Her brave actions saved the day, but Tommy attempted to strike again – sending Irene into a violent rage. Grabbing a nearby champagne bottle, Irene repeatedly hit him over the head, knocking him unconscious. But now, he's in a grave condition.
"It's a full-on reaction to what Tommy says, and it dredges up everything about her traumatic past that she's tried to bury," Lynne, 66, tells TV WEEK.
Both women immediately panicked, and resolved to drop him outside the hospital and forget anything ever happened.
But, of course, it's not so easy. Irene violent reaction was triggered by her past experience with sexual assault and now she's consumed by grief and guilt.
"She tussles with it for a while, but eventually says no, they have to tell the truth," Lynne says. "She's listened to her friends who've heard about the attack and are labelling whoever did it a 'monster', and she just can't handle the guilt. It's too much."
With her sanity hanging by a thread and Colby (Tim Franklin) investigating the "mysterious attack", Irene resolves to tell the truth – no matter the consequences.
The next day, Bella arrives at Colby's apartment and asks him to drive her to the station. On the way, she spills everything and urges him to stop Irene from turning herself in. Colby is rattled by his sister's words and sad he couldn't be there to stop the attack.
At the station, the siblings find Irene filling out paperwork and preparing to make a statement. Are they too late?
Home And Away airs Monday to Thursday at 7pm on Channel Seven.

Home and Away reveals devastating new setback for Irene Roberts
Is she going to jail?
https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...court-setback/
Note: This article contains discussion of sexual misconduct that some readers may find upsetting. It also includes spoilers from Home and Away episodes currently airing in Australia, which some UK readers may prefer to avoid.
Home and Away's Irene Roberts could be left with nobody fighting her corner in court as she faces serious criminal charges.
Irene is currently taking centre stage in a huge storyline on Australian screens, as she has confessed to a violent attack on Bella Nixon's dangerous online groomer Tommy. The dramatic scenes also play out on UK screens this week, showing Irene come to Bella's rescue when Tommy tries to rape her.
With Irene due to face court over what happened, she needs as much support as she can get – so Bella (Courtney Miller) has been asked to give testimony about what happened with evil Tommy on the day of the attack.
Unfortunately for Irene, Bella's older brother Colby Thorne (Tim Franklin) has now put his foot down by refusing to let her testify.
Monday's episode on Channel 7 in Australia (August 19) saw Bella head on another worrying downward spiral after reluctantly agreeing to give evidence in court.
Bella got drunk in a wild party hosted by Ryder Jackson, much to the concern of Colby when he found her with a bad hangover the following morning.
When Bella opened up to Colby about how she was feeling, she explained that the pressure of the upcoming court appearance had taken its toll – even though she wants to support Irene as a thank you for rescuing her from Tommy.
Realising it was time to nip this in the bud, Colby went straight to Irene and warned her that Bella would no longer be giving evidence. Although apologetic, Colby insisted that he had to put Bella's needs first.
Future episodes will see Irene fear the worst when her lawyer warns that the future is looking very bleak for her without Bella's support.
Now facing the worrying prospect of heading to court all alone, could Irene be going to jail?
Home and Away legend Lynne McGranger, who plays Irene, recently told Digital Spy: "The case goes to court but even then it doesn't stop, it still takes more twists and turns.
"I have to give full credit to [Home and Away script executive] Louise Bowes and all of the writers, as it was a great storyline. It was amazing."
Home and Away fans in the UK will see Colby's tough decision over Bella and Irene in October.
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK), and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).

Lynne McGranger announces her debut memoir that will document her time on Home And Away
The actress is set to tell-all!
https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebri...r-memoir-68699
Lynne McGranger has been gracing our screen for almost 30 years on Home And Away, and her character Irene Roberts has become a household name as a result.
While we've watched Irene's life play out on the popular soap, Lynne has kept her personal life relatively private.
That's all about to change however, because Lynne is set to lift the lid on moments from her childhood to her career, and everything in between, in a newly announced memoir book called Acting Up.
"So I have written a book! Acting Up," Lynne announced via Instagram.
"Out November and I am so excited! Pre orders are open NOW! Watch this space for my book cover reveal!"
The actress also uploaded a video of herself to make the announcement, and said: "Last year in lockdown while all of you were learning how to bake... I have written a cheeky little memoirs book."
"It's called Acting Up and it's just a little bit about my life from when I was very, very young to now," she explained.
'Acting Up' will be released on November 2 this year, published by Echo Publishing, with Lynne revealing the cover with her fans.
According to Allen & Unwin's website, 'Acting Up: Me, Myself & Irene' is a "warm, hilarious and intimate look inside the life of one of Australia's living TV legends".
"With humour, honesty and self-deprecating charm, one of Australia's best known TV actresses lifts the lid on life - both on-screen and off."
The book's description also notes that Lynne's story will include an Aussie childhood full of "fad diets (tuna, milk and oranges, anyone?)" to the relationship heartaches, career disasters and difficult choices that would "change her life forever."
Lynne's fellow Home and Away co-stars and friends couldn't be more excited for the book, and took to the comments under her post to share their support.
"Cant wait to read it, is there anything you cant do," Johnny Ruffo penned.
His girlfriend Tahnee Sims was right behind him and commented: "So awesome! Can't wait to read."
"Best bloody book I'm ever going to read!" Courtney Ally said.
Emily Weir added: "OMG AMAZING Lynne! Can't wait xx"
"I've been very lucky to get a sneak peek at this book and it's awesome!! So proud @lynnemcgranger and I can't wait for everyone to read it," Ada Nicodemou wrote.
Love her character, great actress
Not a spoiler, but Lynne McGranger (Irene) has turned 70.

Home and Away stars gather to celebrate big milestone for Lynne McGranger
The legendary Summer Bay resident was joined by friends, family and fellow 'bestie' cast members.
https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebri...-reunite-76539
She's one of the longest-serving Home and Away cast members, but you still wouldn't have guessed that Lynne McGranger was 70 years of age.
The legendary Summer Bay resident was joined by friends, family and fellow cast members for a shindig to celebrate her big milestone birthday.
Lynne, who was 39 years old when she landed the role of Irene Roberts on the hit show, invited two of her H&A 'besties' to the celebration held at an upmarket restaurant in Sydney.
The two that topped the guest list was fellow long-standing H&A star, Ada Nicodemou, along with former co-star Johnny Ruffo.
Ada and Lynne have been friends ever since Ada joined the Home And Away cast in 2000 as Leah Patterson.
The two share a dressing room and don't appear to get sick of each other, even choosing to go on holiday together!
Ada posted a selection of photos from the birthday shindig, captioning them with "Had a fabulous afternoon celebrating my beautiful friends @lynnemcgranger 70th birthday."
Though his Home and Away days are behind him, Johnny Ruffo is still as close as ever with the birthday girl.
Posting a photo from the party to his Instagram, Johnny captioned the snap with "Happiest of birthdays to one of my best friends @lynnemcgranger you're like a fine wine."
Johnny, who is battling terminal cancer, spoke to TV WEEK a few months ago about the two's bond, saying, "she's been amazing, she constantly checks in and asks how I'm doing. She always wants to go out for dinner."
As the character Irene Roberts, Lynne has been a staple star on the Sydney-based show since 1993.
Over the years, we've seen the lovable larrikin transform from a chain-smoking, pixie cut-rocking blonde into a loving and fiery woman whose door is always open to those in need.

Home and Away star Shane Withington has teased a "disaster" ahead for his character.
The Australian actor, known for playing the role of John Palmer on the soap, has let slip that the show has a dangerous storyline coming up ? and it involves lots of fake blood.
"I've just noticed that I'm covered in blood, fake blood [from filming]," he said on the Welcome To The Bay podcast on February 4.

The actor also confirmed that Lynne McGranger's character Irene Roberts is involved in some capacity, but didn't reveal much else about this "huge day".
While he didn't divulge more details on this specific plot point, Withington did mention a rivalry between his character John and newcomer Mali Hudson, played by Kyle Shilling.
"I'm not allowed to really say, but there's a lovely jealousy thing where John gets very jealous?[of] new character Mali, he's a beautiful young man," the actor said.
"That was a real pleasure to play."

Lynne McGranger hints at departure from Home and Away
Is Irene finally saying goodbye to Summer Bay?
https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebri...and-away-77044
Veteran Home & Away actress, Lynne McGranger has starred in the Aussie soap for 30 years.
However, Lynne has revealed how she'd like her character, Irene Roberts, to leave the long running drama and safe to say it's rather ''dramatic.''
In an interview with Stuff, Lynne said:
''I wanted to go with the biggest bang, the most dramatic exit. I want to get lost at sea, or I want to die a really sad, length death with everyone weeping and wailing around me.''
''Or Irene could get lost at sea and they never find the body, have the memorial service and everything, and then she walks back into town,'' Lynne contined.
But don't fret Home & Away fans, Lynne is NOT leaving the show, she was just musing how she'd like to go, if and when she decides to.
Unlike Lynne, Georgie Parker, Sophie Dillman and Patrick O'Connor are leaving Summer Bay.
Georgie is, thankfully, only leaving temporarily. She'll be away from the soap for seven weeks whilst she stars in the stage play, Rhinestone Rex and Miss Monica.
''I need time out for plays...Channel 7 has always been very generous with letting me do that, Georgie recently told our sister publication New Idea.
Sophie and Patrick on the other hand, are leaving Home & Away for good.
The pair, who are dating in real life, both decided it was time to move on from the show and discover new opportunities.
''We have both done everything possible with our characters and it was time to start a new chapter,'' Sophie told TV Week when announcing the news for the first time.
''Sophie and I were 24 when we started on Home & Away,'' Patrick echoed.
''It's a huge commitment and a massive chunk of my life. I felt I changed into six different people in the time we were there. There's a lot of growth both as an actor and a person. It's a great place to work, but I was ready [to move on].''

Home and Away's Irene Roberts to be drawn into criminal storyline
"I'm not the kind of person to throw two innocent women to the wolves."

Home and Away spoilers follow from Australian pace episodes, which some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.
Home and Away has teased a new shock for Irene Roberts, who's about to be drawn into the drama surrounding Harper and Dana Matheson.
Irene is in for a nasty surprise as she realises that there's much more to her new lodger than meets the eye.
Australian viewers have recently seen Irene welcome Harper into her home after deciding to rent out a room.
Harper seemed like the perfect houseguest, but she was secretly harbouring her sister Dana, who's on the run after being framed by her ex-boyfriend for drug charges.
The Matheson sisters were given breathing space when Irene took time away from the Bay, unwittingly leaving them both with an empty house.
However, a new promo shows that Irene will be back home in next week's Australian episodes ? and it doesn't take long for her to rumble Harper's secret.
Fortunately, it seems that Irene will give the siblings the benefit of the doubt after a chat with local policeman Cash Newman, who's also secretly helping them.
Irene tells Harper: "I'm not the kind of person to throw two innocent women to the wolves."

Meanwhile, another tense clip shows corrupt policeman Detective Will Madden try to arrest Harper under suspicion of helping Dana.
This prompts Dana to come out of hiding and hand herself over, potentially sealing her fate.
Home and Away fans in the UK will see these scenes on Channel 5 in October.

Home and Away spoilers: Irene prepares to lose everything
On the brink...
https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebri...arrested-78882
Irene is arrested in dramatic fashion and forced to spend the night behind bars this week. And with the odds seemingly stacked against the Summer Bay stalwart, future is looking bleak.
In Home And Away, Irene (Lynne McGranger) waits impatiently at the police station for cop Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) to arrive.
She and Harper (Jessica Redmayne) were arrested for harbouring fugitive Dana (Ally Harris). It's a crime that could see them both land them in jail.
Dana and John (Shane Withington) are furious, but scramble to make it right ? the only problem is that Cash is nowhere to be seen. He's been suspended for his actions and has taken a leave of absence.
While he believes he did the right thing in exposing corrupt cop Madden (Jonny Pasvolsky), Cash's radical decisions may cost him his badge.
But without his job, Cash is lost.
"Cash feels so justified in his cause that he can't imagine why he could be punished for fighting police corruption," Nicholas tells TV WEEK.
After several calls from John, he finally arrives at the station. Irene is relieved ? until Cash explains that, as long as he's suspended, there's nothing he can do to help her.
Furthermore, the magistrate can't see them until morning, so Irene and Harper must spend the night behind bars.
Cash rages at the injustice of it all.
Is the job he loves worth the pain?
Irene and Harper are released next morning, but advised to get themselves lawyers ahead of their day in court. Harper gets to it immediately, but Irene seems to brush off the advice. As days go by, John notices she's yet to seek counsel.
Will her avoiding the issue see things go very wrong for her in court?

Home and Away spoilers: Will Irene be sent to jail?
The verdict is in...
https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebri...ene-jail-79000
Despite trying to ignore the legal trouble she's in, Irene faces court this week and will finally learn her fate. Could she go to jail?
In a tense week in Home And Away, Irene (Lynne McGranger) arrives at court for her hearing.
Anxious and shaking, she's greeted by her lawyer Greta (Amanda McGregor), who briefs her on the opposing bench ? and the judge. He's a stickler for the rules and they have a tough fight ahead.
Irene was arrested for harbouring wanted fugitive Dana (Ally Harris) and has since tried to distance herself from the incident ? and her friends ? as much as possible. But if she doesn't fight back, her fear could be her downfall.
"Irene was hesitant, because she was trying to convince herself it wasn't going to come to anything," Lynne, 70, tells TV WEEK. "The thought of going back to jail would be too much to bear."
As the hearing gets underway, the atmosphere is tense. Dana, her sister Harper (Jessica Redmayne) and John (Shane Withington) are there to support Irene ? a poignant moment for Irene who has pushed them all away.
"She feels dreadful in court ? she thinks she's gone for all money, because [policewoman] Rose [Kirsty Marillier] had told her she could get seven years in jail," Lynne says.
"The last time she was in jail she ended up back on the alcohol again."
Things unravel quickly when the prosecutor asks for the maximum sentence of seven years, and the judge appears to show little compassion.
Greta scrambles and declares that Irene would like to make a statement. But with Irene's history and the judge disapproving, will it help or hinder? Speaking from the heart, Irene reaffirms her belief in good and her reasons for hiding Dana. It's a moving speech, but not everyone is convinced.
"Irene is terrified," Lynne says.
The following morning, Irene appears to hear the verdict. With one last glance at her friends, she wipes away tears as the judge delivers his ruling?
Will she be found guilty?

Home and Away star Lynne McGranger confirms break from show
The Irene Roberts star is heading to the stage.
https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...granger-break/
Home and Away star Lynne McGranger has confirmed that she is taking a short break from the show to work on an exciting new project.
The actress will be temporarily leaving her role as Irene Roberts in the soap, so that she can take some time to star in original stage comedy show The Grandparents Club.
The star broke the news during an appearance on Australia's The Morning Show today (January 29), during which she reassured fans that Irene won't be away from Summer Bay for too long.
"[I'll be going for] just a little while," she said (via 7 News), adding that she is "not leaving anything permanently".
McGranger, who has played Irene for 21 years, also teased some details about her role in the new theatre production, revealing that The Grandparents Club will be "a way of taking the mickey out of what people perceive grandparents to be".
"Which is, of course, old and doddery," she continued, "but in fact, grandparents can be in their 40s these days, bungee jumping or climbing Everest."
The star added that the show will see her "getting back to my roots, singing and dancing, interacting with the audience".
"I can hold a tune and I can belt-out a number, but I'm no Aretha Franklin," she joked.
McGranger isn't the only Home and Away star who has been working on an additional project away from the soap, as Leah Patterson actress Ada Nicodemou has revealed that she has written her first children's book.
She has described Mia Megastar as "funny", "warm" and "all about the crazy Greek culture".
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeat screenings at 6pm on 5STAR and first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.

Home and Away star Lynne McGranger discusses possible exit from soap
"It's something I've mulled over."

Home and Away spoilers follow.
Home and Away star Lynne McGranger has discussed her possible exit from the soap.
In a new interview with Stellar magazine, the actor, who has played Irene Roberts for 31 years, opened up about her thoughts of leaving Summer Bay.
"It's something I've mulled over, and it has been in the back of my mind for the last year or two," she said.
Despite her considerations, McGranger went on to say that a date hasn't been set for her possible exit, before discussing how much she's enjoying her latest theatrical venture, The Grandparents Club.
"Certainly no date has been set [to leave], but what I love about working on The Grandparents Club and being involved in this wonderful celebration is that it's taking me back to my roots," she explained.
The actor is currently on temporary leave from her role as Irene so that can take some time to star in the original stage show.
The musical comedy, which is touring across Australia, showcases the important role that grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren ? with a host of hits from the '60s and '70s to boot.
McGranger previously confirmed she'd be taking a break from Home and Away during an appearance on Australia's The Morning Show, where she reassured fans that Irene won't be away from the Bay for too long.
On her role in the new theatre production, the actor teased that it will be "a way of taking the mickey out of what people perceive grandparents to be."
"Which is, of course, old and doddery, but in fact, grandparents can be in their 40s these days, bungee jumping or climbing Everest," she continued, adding that the show will see her "getting back to my roots, singing and dancing, interacting with the audience."
McGranger's temporary departure from the show follows Irene's recent arrest for helping Dana Matheson stay on the run from the law.
After a tense court case, Irene was stunned when the magistrate confirmed that she was officially exonerated, with all charges against her being dropped.
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeat screenings at 6pm on 5STAR and first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.

A new H&A promo for next week in Aust (June 10th) introduces new character Bronte, played by Stefanie Caccamo, who arrives in the Bay with Irene (Lynne McGranger) after she has been away for a health checkup in the city.
They met in the hospital when Bronte was in 'quite a state' and Irene allows her to come live with her while she gets back on her feet. At Irene's place, she introduces Bronte to Harper & in the kitchen tells Harper that "she's very ill". However, not all is as it seems as Bronte is later shown outside the Surf Club speaking to someone on the phone about how she can exploit Irene - "She's got her own house and a business. Trust me, she's a total pushover," she says.
(This storyline seems very similar to the recent plot involving Leah after she returned from the mental health clinic with new friend Valerie...)
it appears that Bronte's arrival could be the start of the new exit storyline being lined up for Irene as part of the temporary departure from the show for Lynne for a couple of months, as she is performing in new comedy musical production 'The Grandparents Club' (see previous post) which opened earlier this month and is touring theatres in NSW, ACT and Victoria (Lynne was recently doing rehearsals for this show which was the reason she was missing from H&A for a bit & it was explained as Irene going to the city for her regular health checkup etc).
Apparently, filming was also observed at Palm Beach recently where John, from a distance, sees Irene drive up & then put something in the bins behind the Surf Club. After she departs, a curious John checks out what she has put in the bin & is startled to find it was bottles of grog! So, the speculation is now that Irene will fall off the wagon & that will be the reason she leaves the Bay for a few months (in shame or off to rehab?). Will Bronte's arrival/actions drive Irene to drink again? We will see...

Home and Away spoilers: Could this be the beginning of the end for Irene?
Back to the bottle
https://www.nowtolove.com.au/enterta...eaks-sobriety/
After years of living a sober life, Irene gives into her demons and races towards her biggest kryptonite this week on Home and Away; alcohol.
Still grappling with guilt, Irene (Lynne McGranger) is holing herself up in her home away from the world as the consequences of her actions with scammer Bronte (Stefanie Caccamo) run rampant in her head.
She almost willingly bankrupted herself and her business which she co-owns with her best friend Leah (Ada Nicodemou), and Dana (Ally Harris) could have been killed after she was kidnapped by the scammers and held in a shipping container!
How did she let Bronte pull the wool over her eyes so much?
"Irene has always prided herself on being a great judge of character," Lynne, 71, tells TV WEEK.
"And of course, with Bronte, this has gone completely down the toilet."
Unable to get out of bed, a concerned John (Shane Withington) comes to check on her when she fails to show up for work, but when his attempt at comfort inadvertently upsets her, she swiftly kicks him out and runs to a secret stash of whisky she had been hiding under the sink.
Despite every intuition telling her not to, Irene pours herself a drink and throws it back.
And then a second one for good measure.
Irene is officially off the wagon.
"The shame and despair that she feels is why she goes back to alcohol because it's an escape for her as most alcoholics know," adds Lynne.
A bottle down, Irene then makes her way into the coffee cart, where a puzzled Leah and Marilyn (Emily Symons) are shocked to see her fumbling around the place. And when she interferes with Dana and Xander (Luke Van Os), who are having a conversation about their relationship, it's clear to everyone around her that something is very wrong with Irene.
While Irene has a troubling history with alcohol abuse, she's always managed to come back from it with the help of her friends. However, will the guilt of Bronte's scam prove too much for Irene this time, and will it be the final straw that pushes her over the edge?

Irene has recently been at the centre of a major storyline, as she was conned by manipulative newcomer Bronte Langford.
With Irene blaming herself for trusting Bronte, she has experienced a sad alcohol relapse and also given a worrying interview to local paper Coastal News.
After Irene spoke harshly about herself and vowed never to help anyone again, her friend Leah Patterson was left concerned about what the article might do to Irene. Despite her pleas with journalist Fleur not to print the article, Fleur refused as she was keen to secure her first front page story.
How much more will Irene be able to take?

Irene is back! After a hiatus, Lynne McGranger makes a grand return to Home and Away
Sing, dance, act - what can't she do?
https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebri...al-show-79955/
Home and Away beloved star Lynne McGranger has returned to Summer Bay after temporarily leaving to return to her roots in the original stage comedy, The Grandparents Club.
From May 10, Lynne went on tour for ten weeks to perform. But in mid-September, the actress shared a post to Instagram revealing her grand return.
"So happy to be back with these lunatics!!," she captioned the photo of her with Home and Away co-stars Ada Nicodemou and Shane Withington.
While the 71-year-old has built a legacy on Home and Away as Irene after making her first appearance in 1993 - making her the longest-serving female on the soap - her roots are actually in theatre.
"I came from revue-type situations (shows) - from community theatre, all of that - I'm getting back to my roots, singing and dancing, interacting with the audience," she said.
"I can hold a tune and I can belt-out a number, but I'm no Aretha Franklin."
Prior to this, Lynne did appear in the Australian version of Legally Blonde the Musical in 2018.
At the time, Lynne showed praise to everyone involved in The Grandparents Club stage musical, particularly writer Wendy Harmer who she's known since the 1980s and describes as 'fabulous' and 'should be the queen of Australia.'
She continued to describe the Australian musical created to celebrate grandparents in all their beautiful forms.
"It's review style, its four people - myself included - four us turn up to the club for the day and we have a day in the club," she said.
"The audience has come to the club called The Grandparents Club - there is a sauna, gym, spa, there's bingo, there is trivia. In a way, just taking the mickey out of what people perceive grandparents to be," she said.
"Which is, of course, old and doddery, but in fact, grandparents can be in their 40s these days, bungee jumping or climbing Everest."

TV legend Lynne McGranger to leave Home And Away after 33 years
https://thewest.com.au/entertainment...ars-c-17787205
TV legend Lynne McGranger has announced she is leaving Home and Away after 33 years playing iconic Summer Bay resident Irene Roberts.
The 72 year-old star, who is the longest-serving female actor in an Australian drama series, announced her shock departure on Sunday and is currently filming her top-secret finale storylines, set to air later this year in August.
?I?m excited, I?m a little bit sad, I?m anxious, but at the same time, I?m over the moon. It just feels like the time is right,? McGranger told The West.
The star made the difficult decision to farewell her beloved character, who made her first appearance on the series back in 1993, after taking time away from the show to star in a theatre production last year.
?When I was on tour with (my play) The Grandparents? Club, I realised that I had come full circle,? she said.
?I started in theatre, and I started out touring regional places and just loved it so much.
?Doing (that) again made me realise that while I still have my health and my marbles, that is where I want to be.?
McGranger has been at the centre of many of Home and Away?s biggest storylines over the years after first arriving in Summer Bay as a recovering alcoholic hoping to turn her life around by reconnecting with her daughter Fin (Tina Thomsen).
Since then she has become an integral part of the tight-knit community, serving up comfort food at the diner ? and plenty of comforting advice over a cuppa.
McGranger says she is ?forever grateful? for the show that made her a household name and admits her decision to leave was a tough one.
?I talked about it with my family, and with (co-stars) Ada (Nicodemou) and Shane (Withington) and made the decision, then told the producers and they were very kind ? Julie McGauran, our Head of Drama and Lucy Addario, our producer, both cried,? she said.
?They were both like, ?no!?, which was lovely, but I have got to say, at no time have I thought that maybe I was making the wrong decision.?
As one of the show?s most treasured stars, there was no question that McGranger, who was also runner up in the 14th season of Dancing With The Stars in 2014, would be involved in planning how her character would exit the show.
In fact ? she already had an idea of how she?d like to see Irene leave the Bay.
?I can?t tell you about it ? the audience will have to wait and see ? but I went and spoke to the producers and the head writer and ran it past them, and they loved (my idea),? she said.
Storylines were nutted out, and filming for those scenes is now taking place.
?(The story) is very pertinent, and very important, and I am really very proud of it,? McGranger said.
?From what I have read, and from what we have filmed so far, it is so well written ? I just hope I can do it justice.
?But I know my fellow actors will support me, and I?m happy with the way it is all unfolding.?
McGranger will film her final scenes the week commencing March 28, then take some much-needed time off.
And no, she is not retiring.
?I am not the retiring type,? she joked.
?I have a couple of mini holidays planned ? a walking holiday in Tassie in April to unwind, and then I am going to Europe for a couple of weeks with Shane and his wife, and we are doing some appearances in Belgium, Oslo and Dublin.?
Then it?s back to Australia, and straight into rehearsals for a new production of The Grandparent?s Club.
McGranger says she will miss playing Irene, but admits that after so many years, the line between her and her character is already well and truly blurred.
?I will probably slide into her every so often. I?ll drop a ?girly? or a ?flipping this?, or ?flipping that? ? I already do!? she joked.
?Playing her has been a great blessing.?
Home and Away screens weeknights at 7pm Monday to Thursday on Seven.
