I don't think that was an act. He did get better for a while. He probably does this because he can't control his anger or because he went off his pills anf got ill again. Nobody can fool merntal health professionals into believing them well when they are not. I suppose someone will say next that he faked all that shaking in the car. I did hear there are more twists and turns to come. Nothing is clear cut and simple not that I can condone this - I can't. It is wrong but i don't believe he has time to create a new masterplan while dating Stacey, kissing Christian and working in the cafe/chip shop.

it is a total act... he keeps Lucy away from Ian (mmmm wonder why he thought Lucy was Ian's fav, could it be cause the saw how they were together when he had is dad locked up).....
So he just did this on the spur of the moment??? He didn't plan it, so it is not his fault that lucy contacted him and he decided not to tell anyone. It is not his fault that his Gran found out and he decides to kill her so she won't tell anyone.. of course not.. He didn't bring the pillow to the hospital, it was just there... Lucy probably gave it to him... for god sake, the guy is ILL and he left the clinic way way way to early

I am sorry but I have been very angry in my time but never, ever, considered killing somebody, however much they have hurt me or however much desperate I felt. And I don't understand what the nutter Sean hitting his dad has to do with Steven trying to murder his gran? :searchme:

I agree. I think this is down to bad scriptwriting ruining Steven's charecter.

they didn't ruin his character... he started as a nutter and goes out as one too.. He was acting as been well.. just like May and Stella... they are all "perfect" but deep down totally crazy!!

I am not going to argue with you. I agree he is still unwell and of course I can't comdone him trying to kill Pat or anything. I just think this is lazy scriptwriting and an over the top storyline. Also remember Tanya diliberately tried to kill Max but didn't go through with it.

I hated Stella for what she did to Ben. I was sorry for May and I can't help sympathising with Steven either. I'm off to the Steven Beale Appreciation Thread.

Lizzie wake up!! Sean has a fight with his dad and his dad died as a result, he did not delibertly kill him.. Steven on the other hand, it putting a pillow over his gran's face... that is murder!!!!!

We don't know that. It could be exaggeration and he probably doesn't go through with it. Anyway Sean at the moment is doing much worse to Gus. There may be lots of ins and outs to this buisiness. Lizzie, Steven has NEVER been well, he has been doing daft things since he arrived on Albert Square and his spell in the clinic was obviously not long enough. Did they know about him shooting Jane, did they know he was torturing his stepsister with images of her dead mother, did they know that he held Ian hostage? Probably not, that is why he came back so quickly. You might like him best but the truth is he is a nasty piece of work, not much different to Sean in my opinion as he is holding Lucy hidden somewhere the same as Sean is holding Gus against his will. :wall:

He was ill. He got better. Now he is ill again. I don't think getting better was an act. He did get better. Nobody can fool a mental health professional into thinking otherwise. He probably had a relapse after getting better for a while - he did throw away his medication after all.

Both have their good moments. Sean does love his sister andd support her and he truly loved Tanya. He does not bully or hit women though what he is doing to Gus i agree is unforgivable. Lucy is Steven's half sister by the way, not his stepsister. He was unwell when he did what he did to Ian. Ian knew this or he wouldn't have reconciled with him. Jane's shooting was accdental. He was definitely better for a while - if this was a master plan, why try and kill himself in the garage. It was chance that Stacey saw and stopped him and chance that Ian reconciled with him. He did not know Stacey would tell Ian about the attempted suicide. He didn't plan those two things to lull anyone into a false sense of security.

I agree what Sean is doing to Gus is horrible, but how is that worse than killing someone??
