Housewives Return Date Is Revealed! Plus, Who Died?
Desperate Housewives by Ron Tom/ABCJanuary 6 — that's when it will be confirmed who died in the tornado that struck Desperate Housewives' Wisteria Lane in the Dec. 2 episode. It also could be the last original episode fans see this season if the WGA strike isn't resolved soon. Luckily, it's a good one. "It's even better than the last," says a source. "It's super-gripping, it addresses so many storylines and it answers so many questions that viewers have been asking all season."
So, to be blunt, who's toast? Viewers will learn (spoiler alert) that Gaby's husband, Victor, was indeed killed by the tornado (or, more specifically, a picket through the chest). Also done-for is Sylvia, the patient who was stalking Nathan Fillion's doc. The fate of Carlos, who was left for dead on the floor of his house will be confirmed, and Housewives fans will also discover who survived the collapse of Mrs. McCluskey's home, in which Tom and Ida were taking cover. That's right — another tornado-related death could be revealed in the new episode. — Teena Hammond Gomez

Question: Any idea yet when that one remaining Desperate Housewives episode will air? — Duane
Ausiello: Looks like Jan. 6. Speaking of DH, the introduction of Katherine's ex wasn't the only major plot that was back-burnered due to the strike. Drug-addled Mike was supposed to befriend a mysterious woman while in rehab, and Marc Cherry was in the midst of casting the plum part when production came to a standstill.

General Spoilers:
01/10 - In Monday's USA Today, he [Marc Cherry] told reporter Will Keck that he's considering downsizing Lynette's demonic progeny. "I will probably do a storyline about one of the women, probably Lynette, dealing with the death of a child because I think it's one of the saddest things that can happen to a human being." 09/12 - Assuming Marc Cherry sticks with Plan A, the dearly departed is the spouse of a housewife. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
07/15 - Someone's going to die this season on Desperate Housewives, and it's probably going to happen during February sweeps. Source: The Ausiello Report

Ausiello Report Exclusive: O.C. Bad Boy Gets Desperate
Desperate Housewives has tapped onetime O.C. jock Chris Carmack for a potentially recurring role, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Carmack will play Susan's studly cousin Tim, who shows up on Wisteria Lane to help his older cuz with her taxes and ends up doing Mike's, too. (If the character sounds oddly familiar, here's why.)
Housewives is also casting a teenaged version of Tim, who'll be seen in a flashback. Tim apparently witnessed a tragic event, possibly involving Susan... and Howie Long... and a series of Radio Shack ads.

Question: Any new Desperate Housewives news? — Denise
Ausiello: Jason Gedrick's returning as Lynette's pizzeria crush, but you already knew that. What you didn't know is that, much to the Scavo's surprise, homeboy went and opened up his own pizza joint practically across the street!

A Gale force is about to blow through Wisteria Lane, but this time the culprit isn't Mother Nature.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that former Queer as Folk cad Gale Harold has booked a potentially recurring role on Desperate Housewives. The Vanished actor — who turned up last November as a swastika-sportin' medic in a two-part Grey's Anatomy — will play a quick-witted, charming and buttoned-down suburbanite. Picture a young Jack Lemmon, only without a cross-dressing Tony Curtis dragging him down.
He'll be introduced in the May 18 finale and could return next season in a recurring capacity.

Episode 4.15: Mother Said
Airdate: May 11, 2008
04/23 - [...] tongues are wagging that Edie's actions during the rest of the season are so reprehensible they could actually lead her to leave town. [...] What does she do that's so bad? "One of her neighbors is in a bit of a predicament and Edie good-naturedly attemps to help her out," Sheridan reveals of the May 11 episode. "But in doing that, she gets lured into an alcoholic haze that gives her momentary extraordinarily bad judgment." In short, "Edie crosses a huge moral boundary that she has never crossed before," creator Marc Cherry has said. "It's not that despicable," counters Sheridan. "The women are all quite evil at the end of that episode. Those nasty wenches! I mean, come on, they're the ones that are killing people, having affairs!" Edie's saving grace could be that the other ladies are so busy putting out fires in their own lives that they don't have time to deal with her. Source: TV Guide

Bree warns a woman who is thinking of moving on Wisteria Lane that her real estate agent, Edie, is not to be trusted. Wayne has a lab tech run some DNA tests. It seems that the scenes where Lynette and Kayla go to the therapist may have moved to this episode. The doctor wants to do family therapy while Tom and Lynette want him to focus on Kayla. Actually, she's just renting a room to a coke dealer, but when she uncovers the boarder's secret and tries to turn her into the cops, it turns out the cops have already been staking out her house for weeks. Oddly, Carlos and Gaby are not super-duper excited about being in the middle of an undercover drug sting. Tom and Lynette consult a therapist about Kayla after she convinces the boys to jump off the roof. Source: Kristin on E!Online
03/23 - The ladies will freeze out Edie when they think she's slept with one of the husbands, but "she has not," [Marc] Cherry says. "Well, she's probably gone farther than she should." Source: Entertainment Weekly

Since he thinks Green is referring to Bree (he actually is), Orson confronts him. Roy, a detective, places various listening devices here and there in the Solises' house in order to gather evidence against Ellie. Gaby admits to Roy that she has become friends with Ellie. While Adam is at the house for breakfast, Children's Service drop by to tell Katherine that they've received word that she may have hit Dylan. Later, Katherine is arrested and Dylan leaves to go with her maternal grandparents, Joe and Gleannis. Susan gives birth to a son and tries to have his name change after Mike names him "Maynard." She tries to bribe a nurse to change the name to Connor but, in the end, Mike will still have to sign a new birth certificate. Source: SpoilerFix.com

Episode 4.17: Free (Season finale, part 2)
Airdate: May 18, 2008 at 10 p.m.
04/28 - Sources confirm to me exclusively that former Queer as Folk cad Gale Harold has booked a potentially recurring role on Desperate Housewives. The Vanished actor will play a quick-witted, charming and buttoned-down suburbanite. He'll be introduced in the May 18 finale and could return next season in a recurring capacity. Source: The Ausiello Report
04/28 - Several residents of Wisteria Lane are faced with deadly threats, Susan realizes she will soon lose someone she loves, and Katherine Mayfair's secrets are finally revealed. Source: ABC
04/27 - Adam is injured and when a driver passing by asks him if he's okay and what happened to him, Adam says: "Wayne Davis." Then, Adam pulls the driver out of his car and drives away. Police officers are at Katherine's house. She is sitting in her living room, unresponsive. There will be flashbacks of a younger Katherine when she and Wayne were still married. One will feature Katherine at the Mount Pleasant Police Station admitting to a policewoman that her husband has been hitting her and promising each time that he'll stop. It's not the first time Katherine goes to the police. The policewoman warns Katherine that since Wayne is a fellow patrolman, it's likely that the paperwork about Wayne's abuse will be lost again since he has a lot of friends at the station. She suggests to Katherine that she gets all the money she can and that she runs away with her daughter. It sounds like Lee and Bob may try to get married in this episode. It looks like they are going ahead with the time jump to the future since 40-year-old Ken (mentioned below in a spoiler from Kristin) is said to be someone's new husband. The wife, who sounds a lot like Susan, is hanging at her young son's school on his first days of school claiming that it's a "minefield" and that she found choking hazards all around (e.g., a little plastic sand shovel in the sand pit)! Ken warns his wife that it's time to let go. Andrew and Ellie also appear. Source: SpoilerFix.com
04/23 - The season ends with the wrap-up of Katherine Mayfair's mystery. But I'm also hearing we meet a new character by the name of Ken in the finale. He'll initially come off as the perfect, straight-laced husband type. However, sources say he'll have something to do with next year's big mystery. Source: Kristin on E!Online
04/06 - Sources tell me there is a plan on the drawing board to fast-forward the show five years into the future in the closing moments of the season finale - and continue on from there for the duration of the series. Source: TV Guide

Dana Delany has confirmed that she will continue her Desperate Housewives stint into the next season.
The 52-year-old joined the show in season four as Katherine Mayfair, a housewife who may have been responsible for her ex-husband's death.
Delany told Entertainment Tonight: "I'm coming back, yes. My whole mystery story will be wrapped up and everything will be revealed, and it's rather dramatic."
