Mark and Steph have a lot more in common and I think they could actually have some fun .... unlike straight laced Paige who seems to have a constant scowl on her face and is always scheming and interfering. Steph, like Mark (apart from his cleaning fetish) are both a lot more laid back and prepared to see the best in others . Marks paranoia with Paige (not trusting her) stems from her own behaviour and actions knowing it could affect his career.

I definitely wouldn't call Mark laid back. I agree that Paige's actions exacerbated his normal behaviour, but it was still in character for him to react that way. He's behaved similarly towards both his brothers since their arrival (and also more recently towards Steph).
