I think it was Paddy too

I suppose this could mean that the stalker is the start-up of another whodunnit storyline? I first thought this was going to be Emma and just a local village issue.
But the Robert's shooter reveal is due the week after, from Monday 19th, and the Chas' stalker storyline from Friday 16th seems very coincidental as far as timing goes.
We were told expect a surprise twist by the shooter reveal. What could be more 'full reverse' than if Robert was shot by accident by Chas's stalker, on Friday September 25th, when the intended target for the shooting then was really Chas? Of course, the stalker could be from outside the village, but could Emma have been mad enough to shoot at Chas, miss and hit Robert then? I wonder what Emma's alibi was for Friday evening on September 25th? lol
Added edit
Of course the Chas' stalker storyline will go on for a quite a while (even beyond Christmas?), and I really expect the Robert's shooter storyline to end on the 43rd Emmerdale anniversary during week starting Monday 19th October with the unveiling of the shooter's identity. The contract for Thomas Atkinson (Lachlan) is due to expire around now. As the unveiling scenes will already have been filmed by now, Lachlan would be a good bet for who the mystery shooter will be.

Sunday, Oct 4 2015, 00:01 BST
Coming up on Emmerdale, Jai Sharma suffers a health scare as his recent drug use finally catches up with him.
Jai (Chris Bisson) is feeling smugger than ever when some frightening symptoms suddenly wipe the smile off his face.
The trouble unfolds when Jai takes more cocaine just before a meeting with an important buyer at the factory.
Kirin Kotecha (Adam Fielding) is shocked and concerned when he catches Jai in the act, but his worry turns to admiration when he sees how Jai manages to hold the buyer in the palm of his hand.
Jai tries to tempt Kirin into following in his footsteps when he offers him some cocaine, promising that it will make him feel unstoppable. Taken in by Jai's claims, Kirin agrees and soon makes a confident pitch of his own to the buyer.
The pair go out to celebrate following their successful day, but the mood soon changes when Jai suddenly doubles over in agony with blood running from his nose.
Panicking over Jai's condition, can Kirin get him the help he needs without exposing their drugs shame?

The latest edition of Soaplife magazine (10-23 October 2015) has a number of new spoilers which are starting up and explain some the daily 3-line spoilers above. Some of the following more detailed spoiler storylines may flow over into the following week or beyond.
Adam’s discovery shakes his faith in Aaron
Adam views the video he made and notices Aaron putting the gun into the scrapped car engine compartment at the scrapyard. When he checks the car for himself, he finds the gun exactly as the video shows. Adam shows Aaron the video and asks Aaron if he shot Robert. Unfortunately, Victoria doesn't realise what is on the video and uploads it onto the internet.
Rakesh uncovers a secret
Kirin sees Victoria's video on the internet and the footage of Aaron with the gun. Rakesh also sees it but doesn't ask Aaron any questions. As Rakesh is Lawrence's lawyer, and Lawrence is out on bail for trying to kill Robert, Rakesh now has evidence that someone else (Aaron) had the gun. Rakesh tells the police.
Aaron is arrested
The police show up at the scrapyard as Aaron and Adam are trying to get rid of the gun. Aaron runs to the Woolpack and tells Chas about the gun, stressing that he didn't shoot Robert. Then the police come around and arrest Aaron. After questioning at the police station, Aaron is charged with trying to kill his former lover Robert.
The Dingles present a united front
Chas visits Aaron in prison and realises that he is in a bad way and is worried that he might harm himself. When Chas later meets Cain, she is so scared about Aaron's state of mind that Cain goes to visit him and is very worried when Aaron talks about killing himself. Cain then forms a plan. He wants to kill Robert and frame Chrissie for Robert's murder. When Lawrence and Bernice have a surprise engagement party at Home Farm, Cain sneaks in wearing gloves and goes upstairs. He then gate-crashes the party and lists the possible suspects for Robert's shooting. Chrissie turns red, but is she hiding something? Later, Cain asks Adam to help him kill Robert and make sure Chrissie gets the blame.
Chas fears for her safety
With Aaron in prison, Chas is worried sick. She wakes up at night and sees her clothes all over the floor and wonders if it's Emma, following an argument with her earlier in the week. Later, when James comforts Chas, Emma is seething with anger. Then, early in the morning, Chas wakes up, senses something is wrong and goes downstairs and into the bar. There she finds broken glass and smashed bottles everywhere. She suspects she's being targeted and got a stalker. Finn agrees and later notices that Emma has a bandage on her hand and jumps to conclusions. Chas disagrees and thinks that whoever is after her is the person who shot Robert. Is Chas going to be the next shooter's victim?
The special 'rewind' episode in which it is revealed who shot Robert will be aired on ITV for one hour from 8pm on Thursday 22nd October 2015.

It's because James comforts Chas and she feels her relationship is under threat,
I've seen pictures in a magazine of James hugging Chas from a mag that has been leaked early (soap life).
Excuse me while I let this digest a little........Cain asks Adam to help kill Robert? lol he would be the last person I would ask :p
Yes, binky321 is right and it's really true. James comforts Chas by hugging her after someone throws her clothes over the floor at the Woolpack. I've seen the Soaplife article myself. Here's the photo that goes with it.

I don't know when Ross is back yet though.
