Although I find it exasperating at times and, as you say, not realistic any more, Corrie is now the only soap I watch. Occasionally, there is still some flash of humour like the old days, which I find totally lacking in the others. Surely if you have a cosmetic surgery procedure and you develop sepsis afterwards, the hospital can hardly expect you to pay for it. I cannot see how Bethany could or would agree to have this procedure if she knew it was going to cost ?15,000.
Bethany recovered from the sepsis very quickly. She wakes up and almost immediately begins discussing the merits of cosmetic surgery with Sarah.

Mason reminds me of him. We all got up to mischief but nothing too bad. Because we lived so close to each other, there would be times when it was just the two of us talking, and at these times I think I saw the real person behind the mask, and felt sorry for him having to be the person he was expected to be. I lost contact after we left school and I move away, but meet him once on a visit home and learned he had spent some time in prison, but think he later turned his life around and moved to South Africa. Gary of all people should be more forgiving considering some of the things he has done.
