Aww Lea, have fun, when we went with the school (i think it was year 9) it was great, we never went to any of the seminar things (it was for food tech, I dont do food though lol) as our teacher missed them all so we just went in the park everyday it was great, and running up and down the corrdors lol. Are you staying in a disney hotel? and if so what one? Going with the school has been one of my best ever trips to disney
I've not done very much over the past while since I last posted on here, Except science resits :( I shouldnt have bothered resiting these are gonna be even worse than my first lot.
And now i'm trying to decide hwat a levels to do but i aint got a clue what I want to do :wall: except pe & Sport and Psychology
Ugg we have to go to a seminar, don't know what it's about though. Only 1hr30mins so not too bad. Hopefully we'll miss it too . Yeah we're staying in a Disney hotel. Cheyenne it's called (it's the cowboy one haha), which one did you stay in??
Seminars aren't fun :p I'd so rather go on the rides.
Awwww why did he dump you?? I'll come on MSN :p
Haha what a coinsidence!! Does it have anything in the room such as a hair dryer btw haha!
Yeah I think so too, my teacher said yesterday that it usually has a lot of students so they have extra security or something hah!! Aw okay.
how cold does it wanna be today??
Oh gosh I know! I went to town today, and oh my gosh! SOOOO cold, like bitter cold!!!
yeah. it's been really cold but i kinda like the numb effect you get after a while! hence why i stood outside randomly for half an hr earlier...
it's all still busy at the mo, lots of tests and stuff all the time :/ so i have no time for anything and i really hate it!
Pretty good day for me; I have an offer to go in a limo with my friends and some other girls, so I just have to ring one of the girls up tomorrow to sort that out ready for her mum to book it on Monday.
Well done on the drama, Dave. Quite some drama in Chemistry then Katie; we got to use some A Level kit the other day, I guess because the school wasn't happy with the amount of people that went to the Science presentations on Options Evening. My class were irresponsible enough with that.
We've had some quite dramatic times in Maths lessons too in the past; pretty much anything from locking the teacher out of the classroom to having someone walk across the tables taking his shirt off!
Aww, I'm sure you've done better than you think in the resits, Sammie. We can't resit until March and I wanted to resit the first module I took as I'm like 5 marks off of A* for the whole GCSE, but they won't let me and now I'm glad I'm well out of it with the real exams being so close to the resits.
I've only just managed to pick 4 subjects for A Level, so I really hope I get them as I really don't want to take anything else. How about Maths or Sociology or Health and Sociology, if your school offers them? I'm opting for Psychology, too.
My friend came on msn for about 10 seconds and said she felt much better. Then she had to go. I suspect her sister was tearing up something important again
Last night I went to a restaurant with my Dad (my mum's away and my sisters at Uni) and there was one of the girls waiting tables from W4 from Xfactor finals! (Hope got chosen over them :thumbsdow ) She said I can come to one of their gigs when they start
Tonight I went to see my friends play, his mum and brother were in it. His family's crazy, I'd love to have his family! Good play, slightly confusing though :p
Forget what I said about carbon monoxide, I have no idea where that floated from :p My chemistry teacher spent half the lesson (no experiments this week ) It was acid, and no-one was wearing goggles. One person is still in a specialist eye hospital and they don't know how damaged his eye is :S The rest of the class (all except 7) had some acid burns.
The hospital heard the words chemical and explosion and closed the whole of A&E for about 10 people! And set up a decontamination tent
My teacher also said that now the health and safety comes first and learning will probably come second! :S
I don't have to panick about Biology. I remembered that she's taking it in and telling us what we've done wrong...so I'll just do as much as I can and say I don't understand the rest :o
Whoops long random post :p
Aww, its a shame you werent allowed to resit your exams to try and get an a*, Leanne was allowed to do that as she wants to try and get an a*, and i dont think I will have done better lol, as one of the exams was pritty much all about bioleaching, I never even knew what it was :searchme:
and my school dont have a 6th form so im going to our schools partner one, and I was thinking about Health & Social Care but im not sure, and Im not that great at maths GCSE, I'm predicted a B but im gonna struggle to get that so I dont think I would be able to cope with a level standard lol, i'm think about doing an english, either snglish lan, enlglish lit, or joint english lit & lang but I have no idea lol
I'm doing English Lit (or at least that's the plan at the moment, but I keep alternating between the Englishes every 2 days.) Definitely want to do an English up to AS though. We were given a quiz thing today which asks some questions to which we can answer yes or no, and it recommends which one out of the three you should do. I could post the questions if you want and then do the scoring for you.
I'm predicted a B in GCSE Maths, and I was going to do Maths up to AS, but I have decided against it because I'm really not learning anything in it at the moment. I'm worried I'll fail it at the momemt. My teacher's way of teaching really isn't suiting me and I don't want to take it and then struggle for another year.
I've never heard of Bioleaching, either. I think they like putting things in the exam papers that we haven't been taught. A lot of one of my Physics modules was, so I have no idea how I got 2A*'s in Physics in June. You might have done a lot better than you think.
Have you had an options evening yet?
Good plan for the coursework, Katie. I've been no stranger to "It's over the word limit so I'm working on shortening it," before now.
When you're applying for university, English Literature would look much better. Especially if you want to do something analytical or theoretical at uni, like History, Philiosopy, English etc. Or even Social Work, Teaching etc. Plus it would balance well with PE, in the uni's eyes :)
My mum's spoken to the mother of the girl who's arranging the limo, and I'm definitely in :) My dad said he'll pay for my share of it because he doesn't want to drive me to the prom as the venue is quite a way away. Result! lol
It's my dad's birthday today, so we've been out for a meal. My chips were cold :( My dad said everything apart from his steak was cold and my mum wasn't impressed with the rice in her curry. Definitely don't want to be taking my friends there on my 16th, because they're quite big on curries.
There was another group in there for someone's birthday, and they started singing "Happy Birthday dear Jeffery," so I decided to shout at the top of my voice, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR DAD!" I don't think anyone was very impressed with me
Kim, we have had one opening evening at that was s**t!, I have a propectus of the one I am hopefully gonna go to, as it is the closest to me and it does pe and physcology. And yh it would be great if you could post that quiz thing if dont mind
and Abi thank you, english lit is my fav out of the 2 of them, so that was the one i was edging to, do you know if doing english lit on its own would look better than doing english lit and lang (in one not seperate), and one of my teachers is a pe teacher and an english teacher and my mum said they would go nice together aswell

So basically, answer yes or no to each question unless it gives you options, and I'll do the scoring for you :)
Thats ok. When i was choosing my A Levels, no one told me what unis would prefer. Looking back, i wouldn't have chosen 1 of my subjects if they had. I do English Literature, and its really good actually. You have to be good at looking at things closely, and making your own interpretations as to what it could mean. And you want to get your balance of subjects right. PE, psyc and English Literature is quite balanced. I dont think it would be very balanced if you did Lang.
Can I do the questionnaire too hahaha I'd just like to see what I am :p.
The head and deputy head of Sixth Form didn't mention good combinations at the open evening I had this week, either. I think it depends on whether you feel you can talk to the teacher, because I felt I could ask one of mine if Applied Business and Economics was a bad idea, and she told me that the reason they don't do Business as an academic subject is because universities won't like the two of them together if it was an academic subject.
My prospectus says that at A2 for Lit, you have to work individually on two books of your choice, so the independence would surely be a good thing. And Lit would show you can communicate your ideas.
Yeah sure, Lea :)

Thanks for posting the quiz Kim, Here are my answers
Maths is hard. I was predicted an A/A* for GCSE. I got a B but that was because I had a lot of problems in Yr11. Some of my friends that have taken maths say it is harder than they expected and they don't really understand it and most of them got an A. I did four weeks of it and gave it up. I had no idea what the teacher was talking about.
We were told you need a B to be accepted on the course but other places may have different criteria.
I'd also advise against biology. It is so hard and a third of the course is on biochemistry so if you aren't any good at chem don't do biology.
If I could go back and choose my subjects again I'd do ICT, Business (already doing it) and possibly Lit. I definitely wouldn't take any science subject.
Friday tea time i took my daughter to brownie camp came home had a chinese and a bottle of wine with a friend and my partner stayed up till half 2
talking and playing cards
Saturday went in to town did some more christmas shopping... my sister split up with her partner....
Today got knock up at 9am by our friends who decided to come see us for a few hours so i cooked dinner for them then went to pick daughter up from brownie camp this afternoon....
Had my niece since Friday. Its been a great weekend, she's so funny at the moment. She came with a really wierd accent (mum is yorkshire, dad is geordie) so we've all been laughing at the way she says some words.
Need to write my personal statement tonight so my tutor can look at it tomorrow. Only four weeks until the end of term.
Been an alright day, though we got a lecture. Apparently us Year 12s look "bored" in lessons and we are demoralising the teachers! I don't know what they expect us to do, I hope I don't look bored - but if I do, it's just my natural look and I can't help that. I'm getting my school report soon and I have a feeling that they will say how I lack contribution in lessons, but I really can't help it as i'm just quiet - will try and improve in that area though.
Also, kinda peed my friend off - I promised to go to his gig on Wednesday night but my parents aren't letting me now as I have to catch the train there and back, and it's a really rough place that I'm going too - it was only a few months ago that someone got shot dead in that particular area, so I wasn't keen on going either.
I was told ilooked confised by one of my lecturers this morning. Thats never a good sign.
I used to always get that in reports Dave about being quiet. And then i got mouthy and i bet they wished they never said anything. Corridor going out now, but i need an early night. Had Footy and a full day of lectures.
I picked up my £10 I won off the lottery today..impressive win eh?
There were hardly any people in my science lessons today. Everyone's off with some type of lurgy..I seem to have escaped it so far :p
me to. Everyones ill here there wre only five of us in this afternoon. It was well quiet. My corridor all seem to have picked it up to. Currently i am a germ free zone and they are not allowed.
I think I have the lurgy. Or maybe a throat or chest infection. I feel rough. And to put the icing on the cake we were examing bacteria in Biology this morning on open agar plates. Wahey, more bacteria for me.
Only three weeks and three days until the end of term :cheer: Parent's evening tomorrow night then presentation evening on Thursday. I have to give a speech in front of 400 people. I'm hoping I will have lost my voice by then.
I have not done alot today just been to brigg garden center with my nana had a good look round had lunch then back to her house for an hour then home.....
Thanks. I'll probably be so nervous I forget to listen to the guest speaker and have nothing to comment on her speech. I don't think it will be too bad, I have to say a vote of thanks which I'll have written down. Then I have to say how illuminating/interesting/whatever her speech was and pick something out and comment on it.
One of my teachers is ringing in morning because he isn't going to stay until 6.30pm for two people to turn up.
The new anti-virus that my mum installed gave the computers viruses. Well, it didn't protect them. Mine is off for repairs, the downstairs one will be, I'm on my sisters (only a matter of time before this one goes down the pan too)
I don't know how I'm going to do my coursework...
Went into college today half of my only lesson (double) was cancelled. So I spent a total of 70 minutes in college :p
Driving lesson soon. After that...deciding whether I can be bothered to go to a 'ceremony' to pick up GCSE result things or I can let them post it too me :p
Well done StarsOfCCTV.. I played for the first time when I was 16.. I won a £1 on a scrathcard! :p
Good luck with the speech jellybelly, I could never do that!
Yesterday I wrote my first ever CV.. Haha.. very proud of it. I am now going to hand it in to some places :p Wooo.. feels so good and grown up (I'll always be a kid at heart though :))
Also got some blue contacts yesterday, just for some colour, scares the hell out of me, makes me look like them kids characters, boobah's?.. So scary I hate them things
Anyways yeah, off I go! xx
