I'm pretty sure all three unexpected gifts of food (to Stacey, Sharon & Phil, and Ian & Jane) were from Max.

What did Sharon get?
did sharon forget her skirt
seriously what the hell does it matter to mick if max is back for good, his own son was just arrested for robbery
i hope max revenge plan is good, he needs to visit phil in hospital :p
I really enjoyed the delicious tension in the air due to Max's return - even though he appeared more than reasonable on the face of it. It was great to see Ian and Jane looking petrified and apologising and grovelling! :cheer:
I can't wait to see what Max has in store because I don't believe his forgiveness act for a second. There's a slight but definite air of menace about him to my mind. :D
i feel max is being made out as the villain despite being owed his revenge
I didn't get that impression and I know the majority of fans want him to punish Ian, Jane, Sharon and Phil so hopefully SOC won't portray him as a villain - at least not compared to those who had him locked up.
It may be that prison and despair has turned Max to the dark side though and that he'll generally be a more sinister presence on the square than he used to be.
I'm sure parkerman will be glad to hear that Winston had a line tonight. :cheer:
I loved the bit when Ashley turned up at the Vic when he forgot which soap he's in.
I'm not sure, Dazzle. It was good to see Ian squirm but I still feel that he and Jane are being treated quite sympathetically at the moment. It still seems that Max is being treated as the villain. Stacey still seems to be very friendly with Max, in which case why has she been very good friends with Jane?
And, as someone who has watched on and off from the first episode, I can't get my head round a new Michelle!
But any more lines from Winston and I might stay.
The answers to some of your questions only DTC knows I'm afraid! :thumbsdow
When SOC first took charge, I remember reading that he didn't approve of characters getting away with their crimes. So at the moment I have faith that he will tie the story up as satisfactorily as possible given the difficult circumstances he's inherited (however, I also had faith in DTC at the beginning and look how well that turned out!).Spoiler:
I was heartened that at least Ian and Jane didn't even attempt to excuse their behaviour and that Ian even commented that Max would have got the death penalty a few decades ago.
dot telling max maybe getting sent to prison helped him, what was that, not christian of her
was abi ever angry at laurel, ian and jane, i don't seem to recall she was ever after truth came out
why is jack mad with max?
tarot cards what's next to predict ronnie roxy deaths

I hate, what they have done to jack. He's been made to be so arrogant and judgmental.
Saw tonight's as well. No Winston.....
In some ways I can understand Abi's anger but she did accuse Max of killing Lucy, so she hasn't got much to feel superior about.
Also why has she not shown any anger towards Ian and Jane who put both her and Max in that position?
Max is still being portrayed as a villain. I'm just hoping this maybe part of a long game, but I can't help feeling that if, in some way, he does exact revenge on Ian and Jane, he will still be seen as the villain. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I thought there were two very telling comments in tonight's episode.
First we had Jack referring to Max's "personality transplant" (a phrase much favoured by us soap fans :p). If he hadn't sent Ian and Jane the gift signed from Lucy I'd be thinking now that SOC has decided to draw a line under the whole thing (and the quicker the better). However, the gift along with Jack's comment and Max's tears when describing his state of mind after being released lead me to believe there's much more to come from Max. I don't really see him being portrayed as a villain; I see him being portrayed as still being treated unfairly (but I accept that's a subjective reading of the situation and possibly an incorrect one).
The second telling comment was from Aunt Sal (the square's new fortune teller) who said something asking the lines that Ronnie and Roxy can only exist together. That sounds very ominous to me...
nothing from shirley on george michael death, not even that him and heather are sharing careless whispers somewhere heavenly exotic
i liked the scenes with Max and Dot. I had to smile both had been in the clink.
Good to see Aunt Sal again, I do like Anna Karen. Loved the ending, in the gutter where they belong. :D Nice touch crediting everybody who has been involved in the show off and on screen for 2016. I know Hollyoaks did this and Brookside always used to.
I am enjoying Max's return and his scenes with Abi especially were good, Lorna is a great actress, she has grown up so much on the show
I like Aunt Sal too so enjoy her scenes
I don't understand Jack not trusting Max, even Ronnie was accepting of his return and she probably knows Phil helped send him down
Where is Ongar, Jack and Ronnie is making it sound like paradise and Roxy like it is so far away like Narnia :p
Where is Max staying, he seems to have money too, splashing out on drinks, but from where and also why is Max not drinking, looks to be on the orange juice?
if soc does want to right the wrongs of dtc, not only beales and phil should be punished also the police as in summerhumps ex fella and footballer wives boss, a healthy phil behind bars with ian and jane a start, a new full investigation is needed
to me max is being made a villain with his revenge to garner sympathy for beales and phil, he is being treated like he is guilty by the square
i hope im wrong and there is a good justifiable outcome for max
Im an avid viewer but I have to admit to being totally confused.
oh stacey tell max tell the cops about phil tell marsbar
weasely ian wanting max gone again does he own the square
whose car was lee using?

I'm still not sure I like the way this is going with Max. I hope it's all part of some long term plan by SOC.....
You haven't watched another episode Parkerman? :cheer:
Can't resist it sorry its the Mrs Slocombe in me, Dot's pussy on the table. Not very hygienic.
Jenna Russell is really settling into the role of Michelle, really liking the way she is playing it.
Poor Lee, what a powerful ending. Wow.
Wow, what a powerful episode. So many issues being addressed.
I've just finished watching it and feel like I've been punched in the gut. :(
Lee feeling so lost and worthless that death was the better option; the woman who talked him down who it was implied had lost her own son to suicide; Roxy spinning out of control; and last but definitely not least disturbed Max torturing himself by burning himself with his cigarette! I wasn't expecting that!
The look on Phil's face said it all really: Max's "forgiveness" is far more unsettling than his righteous anger would be.
I believe Stacey (and to a lesser extent Roxy) were speaking for SOC and his team when expressing their sympathy and anger at Max's treatment tonight. I hope that goes some way to easing some forum members' minds on the subject. Max came across very sympathetically to me in that episode.
It was a very emotionally draining episode.
Danny must have a big part to play in whatever's coming next or they wouldn't have bothered recasting him.
You're correct lizann. The Radio Times confirms Danny is still being played by Liam Bergin, and I can just make him out in this photo of the scene:
