They are just brilliant. I must admit, I shed a couple of tears when they performed. Hope Father Christmas leaves me their latest album.
Me too... I love that song and it was so amazing the way they did it .. I felt stupid sitting there crying at a song but it was so moving...
The X Factor finalist Diana Vickers is said to have been furious with her mentor Cheryl Cole when she got kicked off the show on Saturday.
Stories came out yesterday claiming Diana was upset over her outfit choices, and today The Mirror reports that she ‘raged’ at Cheryl backstage.
A source said Diana felt Chez had chosen the wrong songs for her, ‘First came the tears and then came the tantrums. Diana was acting like a spoilt kid. She and Cheryl had words backstage and Cheryl felt she needed to spend time with Diana.’
Diana is also said to have been desperate to quit the week before, and she told more! at the secret gig that she was having ‘some down days’.
The paper says executives begged her to stay, ‘She knew she’d already reached her peak, she felt she had lost the judges’ support.’ The two then kissed and made up at Cheryl’s house on Sunday over dinner.
Meanwhile, Diana is said to have dumped her boyfriend of eight months, and fellow contestant Eoghan has been raving about how much his family loves Diana.
Aled Jones has revealed that he wants to end X Factor's monopoly on Christmas number ones.
The Welsh singer said he is hoping to finish the show's run of three consecutive festive chart toppers with his charity single 'Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth'.
The track, which features fellow Radio Two DJ Terry Wogan, will raise funds for Children In Need.
"Chris Evans heard it and proclaimed to the nation that it was his ambition to make it the Christmas number one as the antidote to X Factor," Jones told DS.
"I think the words he used were, let X Factor be number one for 51 weeks of the year, but for just this one, let's have something Christmassy and sentimental."
He continued: "Anything that challenges the norm is great, I think. X Factor has a monopoly on it. The fact is that I don't see this as a novelty song, it's not 'Bob The Builder'. This is a little bit more serious and we put our heart and soul into it."
Commenting on Wogan's vocal contribution, Jones joked: "I think he may have been having sneaky lessons. I think if you have a listen to ‘Floral Dance’ and then listen to this, he's much better on this. He's aged like a fine wine."
X Factor winners Leon Jackson, Leona Lewis and Shayne Ward landed the last three Chirstmas top spots.
X Factor contestant Alexandra Burke has admitted that her body shape has "changed completely".
The 20-year-old has dropped four dress sizes to an 8 since auditioning for the fifth series of the ITV show.
Speaking to Heat, her sister Sheniece Burke said that Alexandra was shocked by the extent of her weight loss.
"When she comes home and we look at the tapes together, she's like, 'Oh my God, I've lost so much weight'," she said.
"[ALex] looks at pictures from when she was at boot camp and sees her body has changed completely."
Sheniece added: "I told her that even though what she's going is stressful, she's still got to eat."
Burke is the favourite to win this Saturday's live final.
Tears welling on The X Factor or belting out pop in Girls Aloud, Cheryl Cole is the nation's new sweetheart.
And now it seems she's our angel as well.
Artist Lee Jones was inspired to portray the 25-year-old singer as the iconic Angel of the North after watching her as a judge on the ITV talent show.
'As an artist I feel the overwhelming warmth of the northern people towards Cheryl Cole and I wanted to portray this by depicting her as our very own Angel of the North,' said Mr Jones, who is based in Liverpool.
'I see her as a new icon of popular culture for the 21st century, a beacon of light in these bleak times - a fine example of a northern lass making good.'
Cheryl Cole was born in Newcastle and grew up in a household where money was always scarce.
At 19, she won Popstars: The Rivals, the TV talent contest for a place in Girls Aloud.
She is married to Chelsea and England footballer Ashley Cole, who she took back this year after claims he cheated on her.
The Angel of the North, which stands over the A1 in Gateshead, took four years to make, cost £1million and was designed to withstand winds of over 100mph.
Despite initial opposition to the sculpture, it is now considered a landmark for the North-East and is one of 12 official icons of England.
Mr Jones's Angel is hand-painted, with influences ranging from Andy Warhol's Marilyn silkscreen paintings to Peter Blake's Sergeant Pepper album cover.
It will be on show in London in February.
