Year 5's put on a school play so didn't do much today just watched it and did some jobs in the classroom...babysitting my friends little sister tomorrow. Should be fun lol...
Found out yesterday that one of my uncles has cancer. Not sure which type tbh. But my mum didn't even tell me which I'm annoyed about. I found out off another uncle. She reckons she told me, but she never. Wasn't on phone long to other uncle, but he said he started chemo yesterday. And I asked if it was advanced, and he said it was a bit and it's really progressive apparantly. Not going to ask my mum about it, case she don't want to talk about it (her bro) :searchme:. It's sad, cause the uncle of mine who has is, one of their daughters died a few years ago of cancer, and his wife has had it a few times, she's okay now though. Hate to think of my cousins if something happens to him. Losing sister and father to it, and nearly mother.
That's awful Lea, I hope the chemo does it's job and your uncle is ok. It's terrible that so many people in one family have/had cancer.
back! at last!
settled into my house now, loving it, feel very grown up! got the internet set up now, so i'm back to harass the boards and to beat Kath's ass on the MSN Quiz! :p
As for the job at Oceana I walked out of it. They hired everyone they interviewed so they didn't care who they were employing. they treated us like cattle and we kept asking questions about job but they were being really shifty and not giving us all the facts. they told us we had to cancel any holidays we had planned, which is a joke. and they only had us on 4 week contracts, so after the launch rush they'd probs sack half of us! we just got the feeling it'd be a crap place to work, they just wanted people to work **** hours for **** pay, a fair few walked out.
But I'm not going to let it get me down, means I can enjoy my summer now, come up and down with friends and have a fun time! Going back to Brum for a couple of weeks Thursday, for my holiday and for my godson's christening, then I'll be back down again.
Well done on not staying. If that's how they treat their employees I would have walked too. I've worked for people who expected me to do things that were illegal (I was 15 at the time) and paid me below the minimum wage. It wasn't long until I took a hike.
I walked right into helping mum clean today. I told her last night I didn't have anything better to do than sit on the computer all day so she said I can help her clean today. I don't mind hovering, washing and washing the pots but I have a feeling it will entail a whole lot more than that. Luckily I have to go into school this afternoon. Not quite sure how I'm going to get in, the tennis courts have been turned into car parks because there is building work going on. That rules out the back entrance (old car park) and the front entrance is always locked during the day :hmm:
I had a lovely day yesterday, got my certificate of loyalty for 25 years service from somebody I never met before, but never mind, working for the MoD that is nothing new. OH filmed the event, local magazine editor took a couple of pics. Had a few colleagues there, got a lovely bunch of flowers, a couple of glasses of bubbly and then lunch in a fab restaurant. Afterwards allowed to go home for the afternoon :cheer:
That sounds great, especially the afternoon off :D Congrats again on making it to 25 years.
Congratulations Perdita :D
Sorry to hear about your uncle Lea, I hope he gets better soon.
I'm so tired. Taking off the paper and handgunning new paper and borders on the walls took most of the day. Then babysitting...very hard work!
So sorry to here about your uncle Lea, hopefully he will make a good recovery. Good on you for walking out on that crap job Bryan good to have you back. I've missed you babes. :moonie: :p
