Even if David clears all his debts, it does not address the reason he got into debt in the first place. Presumably this is because he not selling enough goods. Mostly he seems to rely on people buying milk, alcohol, snacks and nibbles. Even Emmerdale residents probably do their big shops at a supermarket.
